PC Internet Explorer users need to "right click" the download buttons to get an option on where to save the m4a files. Otherwise IE may try to open the files simply as text (gibberish) rather then saving them to your hard drive; or it may save them in a "temporary folder" and try to play them. Right clicking prevents this and opens a dialog box with the "Save Target As" option.
No dialog box when you right click
SYMPTOMS
When you download a file from the Internet, you are NOT prompted for the location in which to save the file that you are downloading. Instead, the file may be opened and/or played.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the "Always ask before opening this type of file" is cleared when you download a file. If this option is not set, files of this type are automatically placed in the Temporary Internet Files folder and opened by the program that is associated with the file type to play that file. The fille will not be saved in this case.
RESOLUTION
If you want to be prompted for a download location for the specific file type, follow these steps:
1. Double-click My Computer (found in the START menu). This simply opens a navigation window.
2. Under the "Tools" menu, (in earlier OS versions "View" Menu) click "Folder Options."
3. Click the "File Types" tab and scroll to find the appropriate file type (m4a) in the Registered File Types box.
4. Click once on the file type to highlight it.
5. Click "Advanced" (in ealier OS versions "Edit")
6. Click to select the "Confirm Open After Download" check box.
7. Click OK, and then click OK.
Also: When you first click on a link to download a file, and the File Download dialog box appears, you have the following options that you can set:
* Open this file from its current location
* Save this file to disk
* Always ask before opening this type of file
