The astrophysical resonances of Venus govern the heart bio-energy centre (chakra), and the thymus, which is the neurological control center for the immune system. Like the thyroid (governed by Mercury) is reflexed to the liver, the thymus is reflexed to the spleen. The heart chakra is our centre of intuitive knowing, harmony, magnetic attraction, that which we value, love, romance, and sexual rapture. It is where we find our capacity for compassion and appreciation of beauty. Venus manifests in our lives as a force of attraction and receptivity. Our heart resonance defines the nature of what we allow into our lives. The more we radiate a clear, open and truthful heart resonance, the clearer our force of attraction becomes, thus naturally drawing into our lives that which fulfills the heart. The heart chakra and thymus resonate to the emotional tone of fear and judgment. It is fear that shuts the heart down and causes all immune related problems as well as conditions of lack and need. We defend our fear with judgment, which is the wall that keeps us separate from being fulfilled. The astrophysical resonances of Venus also govern heart musculature and firing, lungs, bronchiole, and breasts. Venus governs the vascular system of the human body, which functions in the magnetic domain of the electromagnetic spectrum.
Venus (and the heart chakra), when mature and clear, expresses love in art and beauty, with a wonderful capacity for unconditional acceptance of all conditions—true, non-judgmental love. The unconditionally open heart receives and expresses love that is harmoniously balanced. Mature Venus is open to new experience, is courageous, optimistic, and aware of soul intent and purpose—as the unconditionally open heart is where soul fully radiates its light. Mature Venus is also sociable, fashionable, artistic, good willed, benevolent, diplomatic, and magnetically sensuous. Venus is also of what we value, thus influencing wealth and resources in our lives and she can play an influential role in financial matters and the flow of money.
Venus begins her retrograde on March 4, just after the Crescent Moon in the February 26, 2017 Eclipse Lunar Cycle, a cycle about, in part, removing layers of veils of illusion. This Venus retrograde occurs in Pisces, under the Great Square of Pegasus and over the thrashing tail of Cetus, the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness. The retrograde also conjoins Pallas and is triggered by Mercury. The Sun, Venus and Earth align in the midst of the Venus retrograde on March 25, just after the Balsamic Moon, initiating a new 1.6-year (583.92 days) Earth-Venus cycle. Venus completes her retrograde on April 15 conjoining Chiron (all shown in the video below). Venus remains retrograde for a 6-week period.
The Birth of Venus, by Sandro Botticelli
Venus retrograde is an ideal time for introspection, to reassess our values and desires, that which is important to the heart, also a time to reassess personal finances. Look at where the Venus retrograde occurs in your personal chart and the planets it transits to gain insight into how and in what area of your life it effects. The Venus retrograde will transit natal Eris for many people, those born up to about 1967 (those older than ~49-50 years of age).
This area of Pisces is about psychic, emotional and genetic energetic currents we carry from the past, those inherited or assumed. Thus, this retrograde period provides opportunity to reassess those that are of value and those that keep us bound, entrapped and in turbulence, those we need to relinquish.
Lying over the first half of sidereal Pisces is the Great Square of Pegasus, created by Markab, Scheat, Algenib and Alpheratz (occurring in that order in ecliptical longitude). The principles and qualities embodied by each of these four stars reveal the mysteries (wisdom) of refining self, the psycho-physiological vessel through which soul expresses, to become free from the bounds limiting us from participating in a more fulfilling and purposeful expression in the world. This refinement of self allows us to become able to participate in the world without becoming entrapped by the fear-instilling, dramatic, emotional and psychic forces common to the human collective. Theses stars impel us to rise from our primordial past into our destined evolutionary fulfillment, to become more through our human experience.
The Venus retrograde starts with Venus conjoining Alpheratz, the head of the entrapped Princess Andromeda. Although the stage setting in which Andromeda is trapped (chained to rocks about to be devoured by Cetus) seems complex, there is a prerequisite for her freedom—an inner metamorphosis, an emotional maturing into the readiness to receive aid and become free. Often time, we are ready to change only when in the chains of the human struggle. And our inner readiness precedes receiving support to change. Forceful attempts to break free before we are ready only tighten the chain of bondage. Here lies our need to break free from the human mold, from the genetic, cultural, and personal pattering forming our lives. The stars of Andromeda articulate the struggle for freedom from the collective and tormenting forces of the psycho-emotional human world, to claim our true galactic birthright and evolutionary destiny. Alpheratz's fortuitous position ultimately brings success and reward in this worthy pursuit.
Alignments with Alpheratz can also express as being caught in the power plays created by the arrogance or denials of others. They can also indicate our vulnerability to the emotional and psychic delusions of others, especially those in our genealogical line or karmic past—often manifesting as elaborate emotional dramatics. Alpheratz asks us to get un-entangled from the human psycho-emotional drama, or accept a sentence of bondage not rightfully ours.
The start of the retrograde impels us to explore our psyche, the mentalities we have about the desires and values we hold, also those about money and our personal finances, mostly inherited or pre-programmed. As the retrograde engages, we are motivated to delve deeper beneath our thoughts and into the emotional aspects of self, how we truly feel, and to explore deeper emotional patterns we carry that manifest our life experience. These can also be unconscious cellular patterns carried from the past or inherited at a genetic level. This period offers a time to clear and refine our hearts' values and our capacity to be receptive to that which we truly desire and deserve.
As Venus retrogrades, she conjoins Algenib of Pegasus. Algenib, tip of this horse's wing, is a fortuitous star and marks the center of sidereal Pisces. Algenib articulates our need or capacity to lift our selves above Cetus, the techno bureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness, that is, above the psychic-emotional fear-based realm of life. This does not mean in denial of it, but in the personal clarity to not be entangled or caught in it. Algenib asks us to refine the entire spectrum of self, our mental, emotional and physical density, so as to become vibrationaly light enough to lift ourselves above the dramatics of human life. Venus' conjunction with Algenib impels us to clear out the heavy mental, emotional and physical cellular patterning of the heart, and the toxins that circulate in our blood, that keeps us from flying.
Perseus and Andromeda by Giorgio Vasari (1511-1574) Oil on Slate. On display at Palazzo Vecchio in Florence. Some critics think this work to be cluttered by other people in the water, confusing the theme of the chained princess. I however think it nicely depicts Andromeda's almost fatal entrapment, about to be devoured by Cetus—the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness, as indicated by many people flocking around in the Piscian waters, unconscious of the imminent danger. Vasari is known for his bibliographical book, "Lives of the Artists."
Venus then conjoins the thrashing tail of ole' Cetus. Here we find ourselves in deep turbulent waters, articulated by Cetus the Sea Monster, which lies submerged under Pisces, with its head reaching up upon the desert shores of Aries. Cetus is the sea monster about to devour Princess Andromeda in the story of Andromeda and the Royal Family. Cetus articulates the fear-instilling techno-bureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness. Diphda (Beta) and Iota form the thrashing tail of Cetus. Diphda creates a strong emotional turbulence and articulates how we can get knocked down and thrashed around when we are not clear within self, not only by the techno-bureacrocies of the world, but also by fear-based collective human consciousness, which is a psychic webwork we can easily plug our neural-net into. The stars of Cetus contribute significantly to the energetic of sidereal Pisces.
Venus then conjoins Scheat of Pegasus. Scheat reveals the essence of early sidereal Pisces and the very foundation of life—water. Scheat brings our attention to our life force and the use of it. Scheat also brings attention to the waters of life and to the purity of our body fluids, especially our "lymph," which means Flowing Spirit of the Living Waters of Life. Scheat pertains to all waters of the world, but also to body fluids, especially water's relationship to the purification of the physical vehicle and the body's requirement for refined life force energies to express through water’s molecular matrix. Scheat also brings attention to our blood, sacred sexual fluids and saliva, as well as to the types of fluids that we bring into our bodies. The purity and movement of the lymph and blood is not only essential for the elimination of toxins, but is also required for the transference of subtle light energies of cosmic intelligence (our soul's essence) to express through our genetic coding. The more light we express the truer we express the vibrancy of our souls, and the more life giving spirit substance we embody. Alignments with Scheat impel us to delve into the primordial past and the patterns we have assumed, and to clear and refine how we are using our life force, our Chi, our primal energy. Scheat also asks us to integrate our primordial essence with our spiritual essence—to realize they are one flowing life-giving force.
North of Venus' retrograde and north of the Great Square of Pegasus is Lacerta the lizard, which lies along the galactic equator. Lacerta is gatekeeper to the Primordial Origin. Lacerta embodies the pure unadulterated reptilian brain—primordial self—of the Akka guardians of Mu. The Lacerta mediate between the benevolent loving intent and tenderness of who Abraham Merrit (The Moon Pool. Liveright Publishing Corp., 1919) calls the "Silent Ones" who emanate "Holiness," they who have full mastery and wisdom of primordial and elemental forces that mold consciousness into organic form, awareness that precedes thought itself. Merrit brings us through the entryway to Muria, our now submerged motherland, Mu, in the ruins of Nan Madol1 of the Micronesian island Pohnpei to meet our inner-Earth friends. "From their gaze," in Merrit's words, "streamed a current of reassurance, of good will—nay, of intense spiritual strength. I saw that they were not fierce, not ruthless, nor inhuman, despite their strangeness; no they were kindly; in some unmistakable way, benign and sorrowful—so sorrowful." Merrit continues referring to the inner-Earth lizard beings as those who ally for the Silent Ones as "...an evolution of highly intelligent beings from ancestral sources radically removed from those through which mankind ascended. These half-human highly developed batrachians they call the Akka...." The Polynesian also refer to their ancestral origins, although as the Mo o, again as an inner-Earth, extraterrestrial origin high-vibrational light-being pure spiritual reptilian essence. The Lacerta are the guardians of the Primordial Origin of the Earth's Precessional Cycle, which drives the Evolutionary Cycle of the Soul. They are the keepers of ancient wisdom regarding the primordial origins of the Earthian race.
1) The entryway, Nan Douwas, in Nan Madol is composed of basalt columns weighing as much as 5 tons that are stacked to form 7.5 meter (25 ft) walls. According to native legend, the basalt columns of Nan Madol were levitated into place.
The Chinese appropriately combined the stars of Lacerta with the early portion of Cygnus as their "Flying Serpent" (or more appropriately, the "Flying Dragon"), again representing the pure unadulterated essence of the Dragon. The Chinese seem to have an understanding of the Dragon energy as a quality of pure unadulterated reptilian consciousness, seemingly lost to most other cultures.
The "Primordial Origin" or "Polar Origin" lies directly north of the South Galactic Pole (SGP), the foundation of our galaxy. The Primordial Origin is the most northern point along the galactic plane (relative to the plane of our solar system). The Primordial Origin enters the ecliptic at 5° sidereal Pisces, also conjoining Scheat of Pegasus (and also the current location of the vernal point circa 2000 CE). I dub this northern location along the galactic plane as the "Primordial Origin" and the fiducial (starting point) in Earth's ~25,000-year precessional cycle for several reasons. When Earth's north celestial pole (NCP) resides at this location (which occurred 270° ago in the precessional cycle), Earth's polar axis is most parallel to the galactic plane, submersed in the plane of galactic light. Here Earth's pole lies at rest in Earth’s Precessional Cycle. From this point onward, the pole begins to lift itself, awakening from its place of rest in unified galactic awareness, in the galactic plane of light, to begin its precessional round and the evolutionary unfoldment of human consciousness. Also at this time, the Vernal Point lies upon the Galactic Equatorial Node (GEN) at 5° sidereal Sagittarius, the Gate of God. This means that the vernal axis and the galactic equatorial axis (the Gate of God at 5° sidereal Sagittarius / Gate of Man at 5° sidereal Gemini) lie synthesized as one, with the precessional cross at rest, yet to unfold. To learn more about this see Earth's Precessional Cycle and the Precessional Cycle 3D video animations.
Here (at 5° sidereal Pisces) we are concerned with the origins of life, the creation of the human form, and water, the very foundation of life. The South Galactic Pole (SGP), the foundation of our galaxy, resides in Sculptor, the sculptor’s studio, and the Sculptor Group of Galaxies, conjoining Alpha Sculptor and Scheat of northern Pegasus. The SGP, Alpha Sculptor and the Sculptor galaxies articulate the foundation and formation of human life from the primordial waters of life, the molding of clay into human form. Alpha Sculptor impels us to realize that we sculpt our lives from the primordial forces of life and impels us to take the responsibility to do so, lest we will merely thrash around and drown in the tempestuous waters of life.
Now in Earth's 25,000-year precessional cycle, the vernal point (0° tropical Aries) resides at 5° sidereal Pisces, creating the erect Precessional Cross. Thus, the vernal point aligns with the longitude of our Primordial Origin. This reveals our need (the human race) to embrace our humanness, our primal essence, to have respect for the origins of life, and to amalgamate our true primordial nature with the wisdom gained throughout our entire sojourn on Earth—to fully infuse our spiritual soul awareness into the depths of our primal origins—to illumine the very genetic vessel through which soul expresses—to become one unified spiritually awakened spiral of light. The vernal point's placement here also reveals our need to realize the importance of water and all of life's fluids—as water is the sacred elixir of life, and it reveals our need to embrace the integral and entwined roles of the masculine and feminine. Venus' retrograde at this zodiacal location brings emphasis to the purity of our blood, to our vascular system, to the oxygenation of our blood, and to establish coherency between the spiritual and primordial in Heart's Chakra.
Venus made her first conjunction with Pallas before her retrograde in early January in Aquarius. The retrograde conjunction occurs on April 1, just past the vernal point (Scheat of Pegasus, Iota Cetus). Their final conjunction occurs on May 26, conjoining Revati of Pisces and the bound outstretched arms of the Princess Andromeda (shown in the video below), just prior to their conjunctions with Eris and Uranus, bringing a significant emphasis to financial matters.
Mythological Pallas Athene is the goddess of Wisdom, born from the head (wisdom) of Zeus (Jupiter). Pallas was strong-willed and would act on her own knowledge and wisdom, and preferred artful diplomacy rather than conflict, but was ready to fight if need be. Pallas is commonly called both the Warrior Woman and the Peaceful General.
Pallas expresses the artful application of creative intelligence for solution beyond duality’s paradox—from beyond the judgments of one side verses the other. Pallas invites the integration of our past experience in duality—from having been on both sides of the fence at one time or another, and to claim that experience as wisdom. She invites us to use that wisdom as a foundation to express nonjudgmental courageous solution beyond life’s paradoxes created by opposing forces. Mature Pallas expresses from the balance of the masculine and feminine principles, from a unified awareness. She is applier and defender of social justice, and accepts personal responsibility for having co-created one's experience; i.e. the resolution of victim consciousness.
Pallas imparts the expression of intellect in craft and inventiveness, and an ability to link, unify and bring pieces together. She imparts wonderful perceptual and organizational skills and a capacity for pattern recognition, planning and public relations. Pallas often has a prominent placement in the charts of artists and political reformists.
Pallas issues can express as spiteful withdrawal, which ultimately can manifest as self-sabotage due to judgments about use of power or awry creative / sexual energy. It can also express as righteousness, judgment and invalidation of opposite or alternative views, lashing out with a vengeance. Pallas issues can express as an imbalance in the masculine and feminine aspects of self, such as sexual imbalances, dyslexic and perceptual problems. Pallas governs the Liver / Spleen balance (red / violet), which is reflexed to the equilibrium and dizziness centre of the brain. Pallas significantly effects emotional and physical equilibrium.
Compassionate heart-felt artful diplomacy is certainly a hallmark of a Venus-Pallas conjunction. It also impels a highly creative artistic expression, including that of a social and scientific nature. It impels creative solution to societal issues.
The Sun, Pallas and Chiron conjoin on March 15 under the Circlet of Pisces, just after the Full Moon in our eclipse lunar cycle, and just into the Venus retrograde as she approaches her conjunction with Algenib. This marks the mid-points of vision and realization of both the Earth-Pallas cycle and the Earth-Chiron cycle. The conjunction occurring now brings realizations regarding the healing of societal injustices. It brings insight to recognize patterns of societal wounding. It also impels the development of strategies to address the healing required—to right what was wronged. The Sun-Pallas-Chiron alignment also initiates a new Pallas-Chiron-4.9-year cycle.
Chiron graciously joins to aid Venus to facilitate a deeper cathartic process. Venus first conjoined Chiron before her retrograde on January 24 and under the Circlet of Pisces, which marks the head of the western primordial fish. More signifcantly, Venus and Chiron conjoin just as Venus makes her direct station on April 15 (shown in the video below). Chiron impels us to gain greater wholeness, and in this case regarding matters of the heart, to establish greater heart coherency.
Classically, Chiron is the Wounded Healer, which means our wounds are that which heal us. Chiron impels us to get in touch with, face and heal our wounds, a process of unconditionally embracing our wounds with an open heart, willing to feel any emotion attached to those wounds rather then defending why we are wounded with judgmental mind. All wounds are cellular memory patterns that block us from becoming healthy and whole, and from expressing our full potential. Defending "why" we are hurt, unhealthy or wounded results in nothing more than further suppressing those unhealthy cellular patterns, creating more chronic conditions, often leading us to seek quick band-aid fixes or temporary feel-good patterns of behavior that merely mask and suppress the symptoms. This process of being unconditionally willing to dive below the surface of symptomology and feel, whatever the emotions may be, allows those very wounds to become the means, the elixir, that allows our inner transmutation into a refined vibrational resonance.
Venus will return to its conjunction with Alpheratz on May 20, 2017. The time from when Venus completes her retrograde (on April 15) through the time when she returns to the location where she started her retrograde, conjoining Apheratz, is when we demonstrably embody and learn to live the changes we have made throughout the retrograde.
Observing how we think, feel and choose to live at the time of the return conjunction with Alpheratz occurring on May 20 compared to the start of the retrograde on March 4, can reveal the nature of the changes we have made throughout the retrograde. Specifically, this is about how much we have freed ourselves from our patterns driving our desires and values that have kept us entrapped in life scenarios less than what we truly desire.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonic Audio Meditations, the Venus stations, and the duration of its entire retrograde, is an ideal time to work with the Venus Bio-harmonic Audio Mediation, especially when there a lunar triggers. You can also incorporate additional planetary audios base on personal transits. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
You can pause the video and drag the progress bar to view any section of the video.
The Sun and retrograde Venus conjoin in sidereal Pisces on March 25. Looking from the Sun however, Venus and Earth nest amongst the stars of Virgo. Technically, this is the synodic alignment, and the stars conjoining reveal the underlying new cycle's theme. The Venus retrograde, presented above amalgamates with this new theme, and articulates the nature of the transition from the previous cycle into the next.
Synodic Cycles are created when two (or more) planets align in their orbits around the Sun. The synodic cycle theme, defined by the planets involved and the star alignments at the time, will unfold until the two planets align again, marking the completion of the synodic cycle and the beginning of the next one.
There are many synodic cycles with unique astrological themes occurring simultaneously, creating a harmonic symphony of creative unfoldment in consciousness. Synodic cycles can be thought of as longer-term underlying currents, much like the backdrop chorus of a symphony, providing the underlying astrological context guiding our evolution as a collective.
The synod exactly conjoins Zaniah of Virgo and Turais Carina of Argo Navis. Also conjoining are Beta Coma Berenices, Eta and Zeta of Crater, and Phi Velorum of the Argo.
Zaniah, Eta Virgo, is an ecliptical star, less than 2° north in ecliptical latitude. Zaniah is also the Chinese "Left-hand Maintainer of Law" (Allen). Zaniah inspires the "right use of will" directed by soul-level impulses and unadulterated by personality or egoic-level influences. Zaniah impels right action and participation in the here and now, moment-by-moment. Zaniah embodies the essence of the Virgin’s purity—to become a clear vessel and to know right action. Zaniah imparts a feminine quality.
Conjoining Zaniah in the northern heavens is Beta Coma Berenices. Coma Berenices is the jeweled crown lying just north of the Virgin's head. Ornate Crowns in antiquity were designed with specific metals, jewels, and geometries to accentuate the wearer's communion with transcendent realms of consciousness. Simply, Diadem impels us to attune to, trust in and follow our spiritual / soul guidance. Beta Coma Berenices, conjoining Zaniah, emphasizes our need to apply personal will according to our spiritual / soul guidance, which expresses through the magnetic forces of nature, in the messages provided by the world around us. Beta of Coma impels the administration and application of our spiritual guidance and principles in our physical lives.
Crater lies south of the ecliptic on back of Hydra. Its stars conjoin those of northern Coma, the crown of the Virgin. Crater is the receiver or receptacle (sometimes referred to as the Cup of Salvation). Crater impels us to transcend the busyness and diversions of life and to listen, to become receptacles of our greater soul wisdom and guidance, to seek this greater fulfillment.
Crater combined with nearby Corvus was Julius Schiller's "Ark of the Covenant," no doubt with religious overtones. The Ark can also be considered a technological transceiver for extraterrestrial communication, or a measure of arc in precessional (God's) time, it also has to do with our personal attunement. Our spinal columns are vertically arrayed antenna systems, the most sensitive of all, which receives gravitational waves encoded with cosmic intelligence that the Earth receives and re-expresses from Earth's core outward. These waves of guidance culminate in our cranial structures where they are then refocused to our pineal gland, neuro-endocrine transducers that translates this information into that which the pituitary, the master control center of the brain, can use. Being a clear, open and grounded vessel is required for perception of these subtle energies. Following them is yet more important.
Conjoining Zaniah in the southern heavens is Turais Carina and Phi Velorum, both of Argo Navis, which lie along the galactic equator, and thus are more associated with our longer-term soul-level sojourn and evolutionary course.
Turais (Aspidiske) of the Argo is a rather rare white supergiant star that shines with a luminosity of 4900 times our Sun, with a radius estimated to be about 40 times that of our Sun. "This Arabian name has led to some confusion regarding the nature of this star, even confused to be part of Puppis the stern of the Argo, but it lies along the gunwale in Carina, the hull of the Argo, under Velorum the sail." (Allen)
Phi Velorum (φ) and the adjoining Pulsar P 0950 reside exactly on the Galactic Equator in the Sail (Velorum) of the Argo. Pulsars in general are beacons for the soul, and in this case, inspiring our attunement to the evolutionary currents beyond our incarnational moment, those of the greater evolutionary process itself. P-0950 has a pulse rate of 1.436551 seconds, which is a frequency of 0.696111729 Hz. Raised a few octaves, this translates to an Alpha brain wave frequency of 11.1377...Hz; and this translates both to infrared and violet wavelengths in the light spectrum. Thus, P-0950 links energy currents occurring in the spiritual realm (crown chakra) with the very root / earth primordial response (Earth Chakra—about a foot below our feet). This pulsar reminds us that to receive our spiritual guidance we must be fully grounded—like any good antenna—connected to Mother Earth.
Venus is the Roman name for the Greek Aphrodite, goddess of love, grace, beauty and sexual rapture. Venus has also been called the "jewel of the sky"; "Eosphorus as the morning star and Hesperus as the evening star"; from a modern day astronomer's view, "Earth's sister planet"; and from an astrologer's view, the "compliment to Mars."
Image: Aphrodite (circa 100 BC): Found on the Aegean island of Melos in 1820.
Galactic Turais and Phi Velorum puts ecliptical Zaniah's "right use of will" into a greater evolutionary context, one with cosmic ramifications that extend throughout spacetime. Our acts of will are not isolated, cut off and limited to the moment itself, but extend into the past-future time-stream of the soul influencing the continuous cosmic currents in soul's greater evolutionary journey in ways that are unseen in the action moment.
Turais asks us to extend our awareness into this time-stream, while Zaniah inspires clear action in the moment from soul's and nature's guiding influence. Thus each action moment is one punctual droplet of many composing a continuous time-stream that formulates the path or wave upon which soul travels. Turais invites us to recognize our actions extend into and influence not only the nature of our own lives, but also the lives of others, effecting the meandering currents in an ocean of being. They set up resonances in spacetime that define the nature of experiences yet to come for our selves and in the evolutionary journey of all involved.
This is not to be confused with attempting to be responsible for others or to define their experience—which is a miss-use of will. The responsibility is for our active and conscious participation from the clarity of our spiritual soul-level guidance expressed in action. Turais demands we act from the awareness of our greater evolutionary journey and adds a sense of "cosmic responsibility" for what is "put into motion" through Zaniah's "right use of will."
The underlying current of this new 1.6-year Earth-Venus cycle impels us to attune our hearts and values with our greater spiritual guidance, to true spiritual principles, to open our hearts to be the spiritual receptacles they are. It impels us to act from and apply our personal will from this heart-centered awareness, knowing that our actions have currents of their own that extend through spacetime and effect our evolutionary journey, personally and collectively.
