December 11, 2015 New Moon Theme
Regeneration and Transmutation

This December 11, 2015 New Moon occurs in the constellation Ophiuchus and in the sidereal sign of Scorpio. Conjoining stars include Sabik of Ophiuchus; Eta, Zeta and Epsion of Ara, Altar of the Centaur, and the Ara Black Hole X–Ray Source; and a Bright Nebula Star Factory on the tail of the Scorpion, coined by astronomers as "the baby scorpions." Also of influence are Ras Alhauge, the head of Ophiuchus, and the stars forming the right leg of Ophiuchus, which stands over the sting of the Scorpion.

This area of the heavens imparts a magnetic, highly passionate, emotionally driven and an exceptionally intuitive energetic. For the younger soul it can impart a fear of intimacy and a resistance to embrace emotion and the transformation of self. For the more mature soul, is offers opportunity for powerful transmutation and regeneration, a healing process occurring upon the Altar of the Centaur.

This lunar cycle can stimulate unexpected flashes of illumination or bring revelations that can propel us on entirely new creative journeys or courses in our lives. It is up to us to draw upon the inner strength to relinquish a lesser mold of self and have the conviction to act upon any inspiration or opportunities it offers. It may produce tremendous bursts of sensuous passion or raw power that motivates us to access and walk a path in greater self-mastery that lies beyond the natural forces assumed to be currently governing our lives.

This is somewhat of an intense no-nonsense lunar cycle, but one that can be quite transformative if we embrace and work with its energetics. A pressure wave, created by retrograde Uranus approaching a square aspect to Pluto, but not quite getting there, continues to increase, climaxing as Uranus comes to station to complete its retrograde on the Full Moon of December 25.

November 11, 2015 New Moon Theme
In the Clutches of the Scorpion

This November 11, 2015 New Moon occurs upon the Scales of Libra, which historically are the Chelae of the Scorpion, specifically conjoining Zubeneschamali, an Arabic star name, which means the northern claw, as rendered by Johannes Kepler in his wood carving showing Ophiuchus standing over the Scorpion. Also conjoining are the stars forming the neck and head of the Serpent, which is held by Ophiuchus, reaching for the Northern Crown. This New Moon and lunar cycle theme is about claiming our self-mastery by choosing to do things differently so we can claim greater freedom from our past patterns of entrapment.

Ophiuchus vel Serpentis by Johannes Kepler

The New Moon is also sextile to Jupiter, which creates a Yod (Finger of God) to retrograde Uranus. This augments our lunar theme and impels a deep inner exploration of our psychological and physiological patterning, and to sever from this antiquated patterning by creating progressive, innovative, even radical change that breaks us from the conforming bounds of the past. However, due to its retrograde, this impels us to make these changes in our internal psychology before we can fully actualize them, which will be supported more so after Uranus completes its retrograde toward the end of the year.

Vesta completes its retrograde on the South Lunar Node opposite Mars and the dwarf planet Makemake on the North Lunar Node. This engages the Earth-Vesta 1.3-year synodic cycle that began on September 28, presented in the September 13, 2015 Lunar Planner. This was a compounded energetic involving the Lunar Nodes aligning with the Vernal Axis of Earth's Precessional Cross, Mercury, Juno and the dwarf planet Makemake. In part, it brought emphasis to getting clear from emotional and psychic congestion and to the administration of resources in relationships of all types, those personal and intimate, to those of business and politics. Now we are impelled to apply our newfound clarity in assertive demonstrable action. Due to the close conjunction of Mars with Makemake, issues surrounding the administration of resources may still be of issue. Mars-Makemake conjoining the North Lunar Node and the Vernal Axis can also stimulate aggressive behavior or explosive situations both personally and in the world at large, but this also impels audacious action and assertive leadership that effects evolutionary change.

Pallas and Pluto conjoin creating a dynamic T-square to Mars opposite Uranus in the latter part of this lunar cycle. This creates an intensifying energetic continuing throughout the last quarter of the lunar cycle (December 5-11). The Mars-Uranus opposition part of this T-square, in general, can be quite intense and unwieldy for the younger or less-aware soul, impelling an intolerant need for independence and a refusal to conform with a strong revolutionary anti-authority attitude. Thus, eruptive events in the world or in many people's lives, should they occur, can be of this nature. The Pallas-Pluto conjunction in the Zen Archer is however the crux and is the primary energetic that will express. For the younger soul this can express as extreme side-taking and judgmental spiteful power plays, especially toward those that have placements fulfilling the T-square; i.e., opposite Pallas-Pluto. For those more conscious, and which is the opportunity here, this force can be dynamically supportive to create radical change regarding the use of power via an opportunity to use our creative intelligence beyond the judgments of this-side-verses-that-side for greater social reform and social justice, based upon a greater awareness of a higher truth.

Uranus and Pluto do not make an exact square, as the final exact Uranus-Pluto square occurred in March 2015, but they create a increasing pressure wave due to the Uranus retrograde approaching square to within less than 2° as Uranus arrives to its direct station, which occurs on the Full Moon (Dec 25) in the following lunar cycle, and which continues this intensifying energetic throughout the remainder of 2015. This can be seen in the 2015-2016 Graphic Ephemeris.

A wonderful series of events occur during this intensity. Venus and Juno, asteroid of covenant partnerships, conjoin later in the lunar cycle bringing emphasis to love, romance, partnerships, and to what we value in our relations. This also brings attention to sexual attraction and the appreciation of beauty, and how it may or may not go hand in hand with the business aspects of committed relationships and issues regarding financial resources. They also conjoin the dwarf planet Haumea preceding their conjunction, inspiring a re-birth in relations, or the birthing of new relations and new ways of interrelating. Haumea is currently opposite Eris (for many years). Uranus joins Eris in 2016—all a longer-term planetary configuration very much catalyzing the upsetting discord in the old world paradigm and the birthing of a new. This culminates in 2020, due to the synchronized endings of longer-term synodic cycles between Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto (with Ceres and Pallas) all in a waning square to Eris—the ending of an era.

Uranus Eris Haumea Timeline 2015-2019

The passage of Juno and Venus under the auspices of Haumea earlier in the lunar cycle, inspiring a rebirth, with their conjunction occurring on our day of inner need to change, on the Last Quarter Moon, and completing as the Balsamic Moon nests between the two, creates a perfect coalescence to this potent lunar cycle. It brings us a simple yet profound message for our relationships and how we interrelate in our covenants—integrated from the receptivity of an open and compassionate heart, navigating through life together with intuition and being attuned to and having trust in the subtle evolutionary currents guiding our lives, our meetings with one another, and our sojourns through life together.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. October 13, 2015 New Moon Theme

This October 13, 2015 (Oct 12 MST) New Moon, occurring after the previous catalytic eclipse lunar cycle, occurs amongst the stars of the Virgin and conjoins the Dwarf Planet Haumea, which lies in the northern heavens passing over the foot of Boötes. North is Seginus the shoulder of Boötes and the recent Gamma Ray Burst of March 2008—sending a message to humanity. Remember what occurred in 2008?

Also of significant influence from the very southern heavens is massive Eta Carinae of Argo Navis, the most luminous, massive, and energetic star known in our galaxy—estimated to be 100 times the mass of our Sun, and to radiate five million times more energy than our Sun. A gas shell surrounding Eta extends 4000 times the size of our solar system. Eta is highly unstable and prone to violent outbursts. Eta Carinae, Lord of the Waves, the Akkadian Ea (Ia), the Sumerian Enki, chief god of the city Eridhu (Eridu) (he who warned Noah), generally is considered the foreteller of impending catastrophic change, but also the instructor of the way through such evolutionary transitions.

The Dwarf Planet Haumea (pronounced how-MAY-ah) was discovered in December of 2004. Haumea has two moons, Hi’iaka (pronounced HEE-’ee-AH-kah) and Namaka (pronounced nah-MAH-kah). Haumea is the goddess of childbirth and fertility in Hawaiian mythology. Her many children sprang from different parts of her body. She takes many different forms and has experienced many different rebirths. Martha Warren Beckworth suggests the name Haumea more naturally comes from Hanaumea, meaning “sacred birth.” Hence we have an essence of “purity,” a birth that is special, the ability to produce a fresh or clear state of consciousness.

Haumea’s propensity is to intercede with dynamic motion from a state of equilibrium and poise to support a new and wholistic birth in consciousness, one in which the feminine has autonomy to act in accord with nature and the natural world, and to express a new level of awareness about what is truly life supportive, especially regarding the use of the fundamental primordial forces of life.

Juno, asteroid of covenant partnerships, conjoins Haumea a bit later in the Lunar Cycle, along with Mercury, bringing this theme of rebirth into our relations and partnerships of all types, into how we interrelate and communicate, and into the daily logistics of our lives.

Haumea is in its opposition to the Dwarf Planet Eris (2014-2019), the great disruptor who opens our eyes to a greater truth, forcing us to change and to expand our view of reality. Eris' disclosure of her existence in January of 1995 overturned the astronomical community (and astrological community), which catalyzed the reclassification of planets and the formation of the Dwarf Planet category to which Pluto and Ceres now belong. The Sun and Haumea also lie opposite Uranus and shortly after the New Moon the Sun opposes Eris, adding a significantly interesting dynamic to this lunar cycle, impelling yet greater changes in our lives. Uranus is also approaching its conjunction with Eris opposite Haumea, to occur throughout 2016 and 2017, which I suspect will bring disclosures of an unprecedented nature, which will in turn catalyze a renaissance for humanity.

The Haumea-Eris opposition has been and will continue to be extremely influential in the tearing down of our old world paradigm and the birthing of a new world consciousness, especially accelerant when Uranus conjoins Eris starting in 2016.

Mars, Venus and Jupiter also conjoin in this lunar cycle under the auspices of the Lion and fiery and creative Mizar of the Great Bear. This conjunction is the culmination of the Venus retrograde and her multi-conjunctions with Mars and Jupiter, now impelling us to mobilize and expand in demonstrable action upon the inner changes we have made during the retrograde occurring over the last few months—in our values, in our capacity to be receptive to far greater changes coming in our lives, and in our capacity to live from the audacity of a fearless wide open heart.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

Winds of Change & New Beginnings
An Eclipse Lunar Cycle

This September 13, 2015 (Sep 12 MST) New Moon occurs under the tail of the Lion and the tail of the Great Bear. Conjoining stars include Denebola and Shishimai of Leo; Delta Velorum of Argo Navis; Alpha Antlia; and Asterion of Canes Venatici.

This is a windy and fiery area of the zodiak, one that can stimulate dynamic creative expression, but one that can also be filled with diversionary commotion and grand spectacle. Thus discernment from a place in inner emotional and physical clarity is required to attune to the transcendent currents guiding our lives rather than defining our actions based upon the diversionary and dramatic winds swirling about.

There are a plethora of events in this lunar cycle that make this a dynamic and exciting lunar month.

This is also an eclipse lunar cycle, with a Partial Solar Eclipse and a Total Lunar Eclipse, which is the last of the Total Lunar Eclipse Tetrad (four consecutive total eclipses). The Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on September 28. The eclipses also surround the equinox, which occurs on September 23, an event stimulating a need to initiate change in our annual solar cycle.

Total Lunar Eclipse Map September 28, 2015

This New Moon Eclipse occurs with Juno and the Dwarf Planet Makemake on the North Lunar Node conjoining the anti-vernal point of Earth's Precessional Cross and the North Galactic Pole, bringing significant emphasis to relationships and partnerships of all types, the administration of resources in relations, and impelling new beginnings in relationships.

Generally, eclipse lunar cycles mark a time of shifting into a new octave of experience. They offer a time to resynchronize our selves with the ever-changing cosmic currents supporting our evolutionary progression in consciousness. Eclipses tend to bring about endings and new beginnings. How dramatic these changes can be and in what areas of our lives is a function of star alignments and other aspecting planets occurring at the time of the eclipse, and where they occur in our natal (and especially a relocated) chart. They can have a far greater effect in our lives when they conjoin other natal planets and personal points by ±6°. Eclipses bring emphasis to issues related to the chart area and planets involved. Eclipse influences generally last about six months, until the next eclipse occurs. Eclipse lunar cycles are ideal times to set new six-month goals to create personal change in our lives, not necessarily on the solar or lunar eclipse, but based upon the realizations we have throughout the eclipse lunar cycles.

Ceres completes her retrograde on September 14, the day after the New Moon, thus also contributing to this lunar month's theme. This fully engages the new 1.2-year Earth-Ceres synodic cycle that began under Altair, Eye of the Eagle. This New Moon theme and the new Ceres cycle theme also express as an underlying eclipse current continuing throughout the next six months.

The entire Mercury retrograde occurs in this lunar cycle, starting on the Crescent Moon and completing after the Balsamic Moon. Mercury's direct station conjoins the Dwarf Planet Makemake, bringing emphasis to the administration of resources and areas involving economics, ecology and humanity's wellbeing and survival. There are a few other events involving Makemake, emphasizing this theme as well. This Mercury retrograde in sidereal Virgo, and entire lunar cycle, is ideal for redefining logistics in our lives, especially regarding work, home and health.

Mercury and Vesta, both in their retrogrades, begin new synodic cycles with Earth after the Total Lunar Eclipse. Mercury's retrograde and synod occur at Mercury's exalted location in the ecliptic, also involving Juno and Vesta conjoining the Lunar Nodes. This creates a dynamic and extra significant energetic, especially effecting relationships and partnerships of all types.

Pluto also completes its retrograde, engaging the new annual Earth-Pluto cycle, and Uranus begins its new annual synodic cycle conjoining Revati of Pisces, suggesting unexpected and radical change in the world of economics in the upcoming year.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

August 14, 2015 New Moon Theme
The Power of an Open Heart

This August 14, 2015 New Moon conjoins Venus under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. Conjoining stars include Algenubi, eye of the Lion, and Rasalas, the crown. Also conjoining are Merak and Tania of the Great Bear, and also influencing is Dubhe, Alpha Ursa Major.

These stars of the Great Bear impel assertive demonstrable action to manifest a greater vision for our selves and for all life on Earth, one that serves the greater nourishment and freedom for humanity. The stars forming the head of the Lion inspire extraordinary accomplishment. These are stars of visionaries, explorers, pioneers, and adventurers with little interest or contentment to merely fit in with those performing on the worldly stage. These are the trailblazers, those who have the courage and self-conviction to leave the comfort of mass-consensus, who are self-reliant to step forth into unexplored territory, the ones who seek a better way to live and are able to envision new possibilities waiting to be realized.

Earth and retrograde Venus begin their new 1.6-year synodic cycle the day after New Moon. The Venus retrograde and the new Venus synodic theme are integral to this lunar month's theme. Thus, this lunar month inspires us to break trail from our true hearts' desires and take the action to live a greater vision that is truly nourishing rather than acquiescing to antiquated modes of living that are not aligned with our hearts' truth. This energetic will fully engage as Venus completes its retrograde on the Last Quarter Moon of this lunar cycle. The Venus retrograde and the new Venus synodic theme are presented in detail in the previous Lunar Planner, and in the July 2015 Lunar Planner Excerpt.

Retrograde Venus and Mars also conjoin in this lunar cycle, adding an additional dynamic to this lunar month, one that will fully engage as Venus, Mars and Jupiter converge in late October.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

July 16, 2015 New Moon Theme
Linking & Uniting & The Venus Retrograde

This July 16, 2015 UT (July 15 MST) New Moon conjoins Pollux of the Gemini Twins. The Gemini Twins are marked by the two principal stars, Pollux and Castor. These two stars, which mark the Twins' heads, lie in the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini, with Pollux at the cusp of sidereal Cancer. The theme of the Twins was also expressed by Romulus and Remus, the founders and guardians of Rome. They were the immortal and mortal sons of Zeus in Greek mythology; and who, along with Hercules, were part of the crew of the Argo—seeing to the fulfillment of the evolutionary mission of the soul. The Twins, although sometimes at odds, are of partnerships in mutual cooperation participating in the human world, linking and uniting through their daily affairs in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind.

Castor is the liaison in the world of daily human affairs, and is of partnerships and cooperation. Castor brings resources and people together that serve to get logistics accomplished in the world of business and commerce; whereas Pollux brings a greater awareness to the efforts of Castor, uniting individuals, groups and factions with concern for the greater evolutionary fulfillment of all parties. Pollux can be considered the ambassador, orator, link, and liaison regarding more spiritual, evolutionary and extraterrestrial matters, compared to Castor's role as a terrestrial colleague applied in business and management of daily human affairs. Pollux portends eminence and renown.

Venus Retrograde 2015

After somewhat of an intense previous lunar month, this new lunar cycle brings several changing evolutionary currents. Most significantly, Venus begins its retrograde in this lunar cycle, which occurs just after First Quarter Moon. The Venus retrograde occurs under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. The retrograde continues through September 6, during which a new 1.6-year Earth-Venus synodic cycle begins, also with an 8-year sub-cycle due to the pentagonal pattern that Venus creates with Earth. The new Venus cycle begins on August 15, just after the next New Moon, contributing significantly to the next lunar month's theme. The retrograde of Venus impels an inward journey of the heart. It is a time of reassessing and redefining our values, of evaluating what is of true worth in our lives, materially, spiritually, and in our relationships.

In addition, this Venus retrograde cycle is extra magnanimous and provides an exceptional opportunity for tremendous growth to expand and elevate our values, our capacity to be receptive, and to break trail into new realms of love and compassion, due to its triple conjunction with Jupiter. The Venus-Jupiter conjunction began on July 1, in the previous lunar cycle. The second conjunction occurs during its retrograde on August 4, and it completes, after Venus returns direct, with its third conjunction occurring on October 25, 2015. This is when we will be impelled to fully externalize and mobilize this growth in our lives and in our world.

Ceres, currently retrograde, begins its new synodic cycle at the same time as Venus stations to begin her retrograde. The Ceres synod initiates her new 1.25-year cycle with Earth under the auspices of Altair, Eye of the Eagle.

Uranus stations to begin its retrograde the day after the Venus station and Ceres-Altair synod. The Uranus station occurs just 3° to Eris, which is a precursor of the upcoming Uranus-Eris conjunction, occurring in 2016-2017, also initiating a new and very long Uranus-Eris cycle, as well as producing the Uranus-Eris generation. The current Uranus-Eris approach and subsequent conjunction (occurring from now through 2017) is exceptionally significant, a time that, I suspect, will avalanche into massive, unprecedented, unexpected "Disclosure" that will overturn our existing concepts of reality.

Saturn completes its retrograde just after Full Moon, as does Pallas, Ixion and Quaoar, which have been in synchronous retrogrades. Vesta also begins its retrograde, toward the end of this lunar cycle, over the thrashing tail of Cetus, which is south of Pisces and the Great Square of Pegasus.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

June 16, 2015 New Moon Theme
Creative Initiative & the Horns of the Bull

Our June 16, 2015 New Moon conjoins Mars, which is also opposite the asteroid Pallas, the Centaur Pholus, and the Dwarf Planets Ixion and Quaoar. Thus the alignment is Mars-Sun-Moon-Earth-Pallas-Pholus-Ixion-Quaoar.

The Mars-Sun-Moon-Earth-Pallas-Pholus-Ixion-Quaoar alignment.

The Mars-New Moon, on the cusp of sidereal Taurus-Gemini, conjoins the South Horn of the Bull, the famous Super Nova Remnant of July 4, 1054 AD in the Crab Nebula, several stars of Orion, and Ensis, the Great Orion Nebula.

The Horns of the Bull articulate the pursuit, struggle, and engagement in the physical world. Al Hecka, the south horn, is of stalemates, standoffs, and brick walls—fighting old and antiquated crusades—particularly of a religious-political nature—and blindly or automatically continuing the fight out of habitual pattern even though the original purpose behind what we were fighting for is long gone. Alignments here can indicate a time to surrender the physical struggle and move onward into a field of mutual cooperation. El Nath, the north horn, motivates tenacious perseverance for accomplishment. It inspires the drive to achieve a breakthrough. Alignments with the Horns ask us to discern the difference between causes of worthy pursuit verses those driven from antiquated motive. The conjoining stars of Orion impart a strong, self confident, dignified, reliant and responsive character. Alignments here often indicate success through enterprises in business and commerce, but they can also express as impiety, arrogance, inconsistency in action, hesitation, or indecision. Classically the stars of this area of Orion have a kingly attribute, bringing wealth and significant civil or military honors.

The addition of Mars with the New Moon and the energetics of these stars can intensify world affairs, especially those of a militaristic nature, which can manifest as aggression and a tendency toward warfare in the world at large. This however can also impel audacious brave creative action and strong leadership, providing an opportunity to claim greater personal self-empowerment, and this is the opportunity this lunar cycle offers us personally. This lunar cycle is about the use of personal power and our creative initiative. It is an ideal cycle for initiating enterprising pursuits. The Mars-New Moon is also sextile (60°) to Juno, which creates a harmonic resonance of strength, ideal for creative action in partnerships of all types.

The Mars-New Moon alignment with Pallas, Pholus, Ixion and Quaoar adds a significant complexity to our lunar month's theme. In part, it brings emphasis to the use of creative power in response to tyrannical behavior. There is also strong impetus to use our creative power in a leadership capacity that establishes a greater social justice via a harmonious revolution. Mysterious elements or shrouded events in a whirlwind of confusion occurring in this lunar cycle can act as a catalyzing agent for profound change. This can trigger an avalanche of events that leads to a transformation of a long-standing condition that makes possible a transition or passage that otherwise would not occur.
The controversial military special operation "Jade Helm," to be staged in the southwestern United States, is scheduled to formally start toward the end of this Mars Lunar Cycle, and as the Moon conjoins Mars and Mercury opposite Pluto, which occurs on July 15. However, military convoys have already been moving into place for some time and other states have already been experiencing military operations—engaging during the previous May-June lunar cycle with the potent Mars-Sun-Mercury-Earth-Saturn alignment, which also produced the massive Japan volcanic eruption followed by the Japan 7.8 earthquake. Also occurring during this energetic build-up was the massive cyber-attack of U.S. government agencies exposing the personal data of over 4 million current and former federal government employees, said by some to be a part of Jade Helm's hidden economic-related agenda.

The Sun-Mars alignment also marks the midpoint of vision and realization in the current Earth-Mars cycle that began in April 2014, presented in the March 30, 2014 Lunar Planner.

The Sun and Mars also square the Lunar Nodes in this lunar cycle, peaking from the pre-Gibbous Moon through the Full Moon. This configuration can add an element of emotional instability leading to poor judgment, especially for those in leadership positions. It also brings emphasis to all Mars-related issues, especially with impetus to shift from applying force through antiquated emotional patterns and covert agendas of techno-bureaucracies to intelligent and integrous leadership. There is a tremendous emphasis on Mars throughout this lunar month.

A Note of CAUTION: July 14 and 15, just before and into the next New Moon, are "exceptionally volatile" days, due to the Moon-Mercury-Mars conjunction opposing Pluto. Pay attention, especially if driving or working with tools or machinery. This can be somewhat of an intense alignment emotionally and psychologically, but one bringing perspective to this entire lunar cycle, especially regarding the use of power and creative initiative. Watch for and avoid compulsive, reactive, risky or extremes of behavior, as well as the need to be responsive in a leadership capacity to help others through any crises.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

Our May 18 UT (May 17 MST), 2015 New Moon lies just into sidereal Taurus and under the auspices of Perseus, conjoining Algol and the Gorgoneas. This is also near the Moon's exalted location in the ecliptic, thus creating and extra-significant lunar resonance. Perseus, in the story of Andromeda and the Royal Family, is the hero who slays Medusa, the Gorgon with seven snakes for hair, and then frees the princess Andromeda from being devoured by Cetus the Sea Monster.

Algol is the head of slain Medusa, held by Perseus. Of the Gorgons, Medusa represents the chaotic self-defeating forces within self, which are driven by fear. Perseus cannot look at Medusa directly lest he will turn to stone. He instead uses his shield to see her reflection. This mythically articulates our need to look at the monsters and adversaries apparently outside of self as a reflection of our own inner fear. It is our fear that freezes us in our tracks and is that which we must slay to claim our true personal power and fulfill our greater purpose on Earth.

This lunar cycle can exacerbate confrontations in the world or challenges in our personal lives, but also offers opportunity for transformation if we embrace them as reflections that serve us to face any fears that may arise.

Mercury's retrograde occurs in this lunar cycle, beginning just after the New Moon in mid-sidereal Taurus conjoining the Hyades and Aldebaran. It impels a time of reassessment and reorganization of our daily affairs, especially regarding the administrative planning of world affairs, and specifically for physical logistics and infrastructures designed to support humanity through what may become an avalanche of unparalleled change over the immediate few years ahead.

Earth and Saturn begin their new annual synodic cycle at the head of the Scorpion. This is a significant cycle in the current progression of Saturn cycles, one demanding we take responsibility to evolve out of antiquated patterns of the past that perpetuate an experience of entrapment and a sense of victim consciousness.

Mars begins to play a significant role in this lunar cycle, and in the next as well, aligning with and coinciding with a few other planetary alignments that create periods of intense geophysical and biological resonances. The primary period of intensity occurs between May 22 through the June 2 Full Moon, which may heighten the possibility for accentuated seismicity or volcanism, and psychophysiological unrest.

This lunar cycle, and the next with a Mars-New Moon in the horns of the Bull, may also intensify world affairs, especially those of a militaristic nature, but also offer opportunity to claim greater personal self-empowerment and awareness. Curiously, the controversial military special operation "Jade Helm," to be staged in the southwestern United States, is supposed to start toward the end of the following Mars Lunar Cycle, and as the Moon conjoins Mars (on July 15).

This lunar cycle is of earthy and material matters. It brings attention to the home and family, property, stability and balance. It impels industrious, persistent, determined, enterprising and heroic action. It impels us to face any fundamental fears that may keep us from claiming greater mastery and fulfillment in our lives, and it may bring experiences that support an inner transformation from fear-based reaction to compassion-based creative action that ensures safety, wellbeing and sustainability.

Theses are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

April 18, 2015 New Moon Theme

Our April 18, 2015 New Moon, the first in our new six-month eclipse period, conjoins the magnificent Andromeda Galaxy, our nearest galactic neighbor and exemplar of optimal human development, and the Cassiopeia-A Supernova Remnant in the northern heavens. The New Moon lies on the shores of early sidereal Aries where the eastern Piscean fish leaps upward from the waters of Pisces. Conjoining stars include Alrisha Pisces, Al Pherg (the Babylonian Kullat Nunu) of Pisces, and the additional stars forming the upright fish.

This New Moon's placement impels us to actualize a far greater potential and greater personal achievement, but to do so we must first release or bring to resolution any limiting mental-emotional patterns of the past. Success is accomplished both by maturing internally and aspiring externally. This lunar cycle may also inspire deep emotional clearing and physical cleansing, simultaneously encouraging relinquishment and attainment—the art of becoming all we can be.

The Andromeda Spiral Galaxy M31

The beautiful and nearly perfect shaped Andromeda Spiral Galaxy M31 is our largest nearby neighbor, a mer 2.5 million light yeas away. The Dwarf Planets Ceres and Pluto begin a new 4.7-year cycle amongst the stars of the Zen Archer. It was the upsetting nature of Eris, who equilibrated the opposing characteristics of Ceres and Pluto, resulting in the demotion of Pluto and promotion of Ceres both to Dwarf Planet status in 2006. This cycle, the last one of the 2010s, and leading into the monumental Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto synthesis in 2020, may escalate issues and reveal greater knowledge surrounding power struggles driving the choices we make between nurturing life or destroying it, and Mother Earth may have her say. Ceres comes into clarity over these few months thanks to "Dawn" currently orbiting Ceres.

Pallas begins its retrograde around the heads of Ophiuchus and Hercules, conjoining the minor planets Quaoar and Ixion, and the Centaur Pholus, all in the constellation of Ophiuchus, and on the cusp of sidereal Scorpio-Sagittarius and over the sting of the Scorpion. Earth begins a new synodic cycle with Pallas in the midst of the retrograde in June, compounded with the other three, all in this part of the heavens, which sets in motion a multi-faceted energetic for humanity fully engaging later this year. The Pallas cycles engaging with Quaoar, Ixion, and Pholus also continue into 2020.

The Ceres-Pluto cycle and the Pallas-Quaoar, Pallas-Ixion, and Pallas-Pholus cycles all contribute to changing evolutionary currents throughout the rest of this decade, and which lead into an entirely new energetic engaging in 2020 due to the start of a new Saturn-Pluto 34-year cycle, a new Jupiter-Pluto 12.5-year cycle, and a new Jupiter-Saturn 20-year cycle. 2020 is also the expected start of the next sunspot cycle, but which is expected to be minimal if it occurs at all, plummeting us into a Grand Solar Minimum.

Juno and Jupiter play a key role in this lunar cycle, on the First Quarter stimulus to action Moon, on the Full Moon, and again as the two make their conjunction just prior to the following New Moon, bringing to completion the Juno-Jupiter synchronous retrogrades, which began in December of 2014. These events should bring a welcomed sense of mobilization and expansion for relationships and partnerships of all types, especially regarding newly formed or redefined interactions and pursuits in partnerships occurring over the last several months. This sense of movement will fully engage in the following lunar cycle.

These are but a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events, their meaning and more—the underlying cosmic currents upon which we evolve and which guide our daily lives—based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.

Sculpting a New Life Paradigm

Our March 20, 2015 New Moon produces a Total Solar Eclipse on the Equinox conjoining the Vernal Point of Earth’s Precessional Cross. The eclipse path of totality passes between Iceland and Europe, through the Norwegian Sea. A partial eclipse will be visible throughout Europe, Iceland and Greenland, producing an exceptionally dark sky. Varying degrees of the eclipse will also be seen in northern Africa, the Middle East and northwestern Asia.

The Equinox Solar Eclipse occurs just after the seventh and final Uranus-Pluto geocentric square. This is an exceptional event producing a lunar cycle that impels an action oriented fresh start, one motivating radical, innovative and progressive change—a current set in motion that will continue throughout the remainder of this decade. This leads into the Uranus-Eris conjunctions and new Uranus-Eris cycle that begins in 2016, and then into the prominent Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto conjunctions and the new cycles they produce, occurring in 2020. These events mark the next major turnings in the evolutionary awakening of human consciousness.

Total Solar Eclipse

A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs on April 4 in Virgo and over Corvus, the Raven Messenger. The Sun conjoins Uranus and squares Pluto, creating a potent and revelatory Full Moon T-Square. This is the third of four consecutive Total Lunar Eclipses occurring in 2014 and 2015, called a Tetrad. This eclipse is extraordinarily short, less than 5 minutes in duration. The eclipse will be visible from western North America, eastern Asia, the Pacific, Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand.

Total Lunar Eclipse

Jupiter completes its retrograde in this lunar cycle just after the Disseminating Moon, which conjoins retrograde Saturn. Juno and Jupiter have been in a synchronous retrograde since December of 2014. Juno completed its retrograde in the previous lunar cycle. Juno and Jupiter also began their new 7.7-year synodic cycle under the auspices of the Head of the Lion in the previous lunar cycle. Jupiter’s direct station engages a sense of movement and expansion in our lives. It especially brings motivation for relationships of all types to break ground into new vistas of experience. See Jupiter and Juno. There are also several stimulating triggers with Uranus in this lunar cycle, impelling revolutionary innovation and refreshing change.

February 18, 2015 New Moon Theme
Through the Hourglass

Our February 18, 2015 New Moon lies in the constellation of Aquarius, our humanitarian waterbearer. It conjoins the Helix Nebula in Aquarius and the Veil Nebula on the wing tip of Cygnus the Swan, also know as the Northern Galactic Cross. Further north, lying on the galactic equator, is Cygnus X-3, an intense X-ray eclipsing binary star system with an extraordinarily rapid 4.79-hour eclipse rate, which harmonically translates into the visible light spectrum at 5615 Angstroms, the color gold–Lemon. Cygnus X-3 produces ultrahigh energy cosmic rays that even penetrate Earth's surface, detected in the deep caverns of the Soudron iron mines in Minnesota. Also of influence is Enif, the nose of Pegasus. All of these entries create a dynamic accelerating force that elevates mind to a more intuitive embracing universal awareness, quite different than the more self-focused quality of our previous lunar cycle. This lunar cycle brings inspiration to participate beyond our exclusive attractions and segregated ways based on gender, race, creed, or culture, into the inclusiveness of unconditional compassion.

Juno and Jupiter begin a new 7.7-year synodic cycle under the auspices of the Head of the Lyon, which mobilizes and entirely new and very progressive evolutionary current for relationships of all types. Juno and Jupiter have been in a synchronous retrograde since December of 2014. Juno completes its retrograde in this lunar cycle. Jupiter will follow in the next, at which time this new current will start to fully engage, impelling relationships of all types to break ground into new vistas of experience and new modalities of interrelating free from limiting dogmas of the past.

Venus and Mars make their conjunction in this lunar cycle, synthesizing our expressive and receptive qualities. Both conjoin Uranus and square Pluto, triggering the seventh and final Uranus-Pluto square, which occurs toward the end of this lunar cycle. This square marks the completion of the 2012-2015 transition and full entry into the second action oriented quarter of the 138-year Uranus-Pluto cycle that began in the mid-1960s. The Venus and Mars triggers to the intensifying Uranus-Pluto square inspire passionate and cooperative, yet assertive action to create revolutionary change in our lives—an underlying current expressing throughout this lunar cycle. This leads into the following Total Eclipse lunar cycle, which occurs on the March Equinox, on the vernal point of Earth’s Precessional Cross.

January 20, 2015 New Moon Theme
Clarifying Motive

Our January 20, 2015 New Moon occurs just as Mercury stations to begin its retrograde. Stars setting the theme for this lunar cycle include Alpha and Beta Indus; Alberio, the beak of Cygnus the Swan; Anser of the Vulpecula the fox; Alpha and Beta Sagitta, the missile of Zeus; and Altair, Eye of the Eagle, which is the overseeing star of this area of the zodiak. All of these very diverse stars amalgamate to form the complex zodiakal energetic expressing through this New Moon.

This area of the zodiak articulates a diversely-intented group of individuals and associated levels of consciousness, those either covert, manipulative and driven from self-interest (as the character of the old business & military paradigms), and those spiritually aware, of integrity and who are attuned to the land and the environment, including shamans and keepers of sacred knowledge and sacred ways.

This is the world of the shamanistic, the ceremonial, fanaticism, obsession, and passion. Although driven from personal interest, it is often of those with broad global vision. Either way, surface appearances, cloaks and facades often shroud who is who in an aura of mystery; cloaks often used as strategic tools to serve one’s deeper hidden motive.

Early sidereal Capricorn is of hermetism, esoterism, magic, and various areas of esoteric knowledge and science, also of covert technologies as well as the secret places and orders associated with them. These can include military-scientific-extraterrestrial bases, hermitages, exclusive retreats, or isolated places with a spiritual focus—including sacred sites or places of power under the care of their mysterious stewards, or merely places of personal retreat and seclusion—but places strategic to one’s purpose. We also find an arsenal of strategic tools (technological or magikal), to either aid or control humanity as well as the skill to use them; and this includes our personal tools and assets.

This is also where an eloquent and artful play of seduction and consent co-exists; but also one that can be insidiously cunning or even voraciously consuming. Hear lies the nature of the tools of business and war: the interplay of people in their sexy disguises, whether cloaked in the eloquent and sleek stealth jet or particle beam laser based satellite, or merely dressed in seductive leather and lace. Microscopic discernment is required to see through the alluring facades inherent in this world of mystery, esoteric knowledge, personal motive, and covert maneuvers, to identify what is truly nurturing verses what just tantalizingly appears to be so.

Our New Moon stars impel us to concretize our visions and ideals into demonstrable form. They impart a desire for independence and motivate independent pursuits, generally for personal gain, whether for material gain, for position or advantage in life, or for greater personal knowledge and understanding. They inspire intellectual curiosity, inquisitiveness and discovery of that which is hidden, but most of all, they impel us to examine and clarify our own personal motives that formulate our lives.

Juno and Jupiter, both in their synchronous retrogrades, begin new annual synodic cycles with Earth amongst the stars of the Egyptian Scarabaeus, our modern Cancer the crab. These synods set in motion underlying currents that are a part of an expansive redefining process occurring in relationships and in how we interrelate. These cycles feed into the emergence of a new Juno-Jupiter 7.7-year cycle that begins in March 2015 under the Head of the Lion and fully engages in May 2015. See: Relationships & The Juno-Jupiter Synchronous Retrogrades.

A new Mercury 116-day cycle begins at the same time as the Earth-Juno cycle, due to a Sun-Mercury-Earth-Juno alignment. This creates a compounded energetic that adds a strong emphasis to redefining communication, logistics, negotiations, agreements and contracts within relationships and partnerships of all types, especially throughout this lunar month.

Venus engages a new 326-day cycle with Mars, conjoining fortuitous Algenib of the Great Square of Pegasus and Erakis, the suprgiant Garnet Star in Cepheus. Venus and Mars will then make three conjunctions over the next few months starting in the next lunar cycle, due to the upcoming Venus retrograde, which will occur under the Head of Lion. These three conjunctions (occurring in February, September and November), all of which are very unique, nest within the energetic of the Venus-Mars Algenib-Erakis cycle and augment its outer expression in our lives. Venus-Mars cycles create a dynamic evolutionary current within our selves and within our relationships. This specific cycle, along with the subsequent Venus retrograde and three Venus-Mars conjunctions, impel us to make significant transitions in our values and in the outward creative actions we take based upon those values. Venus also begins new cycles with Uranus and Eris following the Venus-Mars synod.

Overall, this is a very progressive lunar cycle engaging dynamic evolutionary currents throughout the year ahead that should free up, or shake up, what has been held in stasis by accelerating pioneering change.
