Reaction or Creative Action

There are times to unconditionally accept what has become and there are times to creatively act to manifest the beauty destined to become. This lunar cycle brings the inspiration to fight for (create) a greater vision, for the vision we do want rather than to acquiesce to the way the cards have haphazardly fallen. The primary star contributing to our New Moon theme is Dubhe of Ursa Major.

Dubhe, Alpha Ursa Major, and Merak, Beta Ursa Major, are the two brightest stars of the Big Bear (Big Dipper). A line drawn from Dubhe through Merak leads directly to Earth's current north star, Polaris. Merak and Dubhe represent the alignment of personal will and divine will in allegiance to the evolutionary fulfillment of Earth's polar precessional cycle--to the destined fulfillment of the soul.

The stars of the Great Bear represent primary forces in the world that are articulated by the governing world powers. The theme of the great Bear is torn. Part of the Bear is of the fallen world powers, those of a totalitarian, controlling oppressive rule. Dubhe and Merak are of the integrous part of the Great Bear, of that which is oriented toward a greater vision, for that which is truly nourishing for humanity.

Dubhe embodies the "willingness to fight for a greater vision" beyond the accepted political-religious dogmas of the human world that keep humanity in darkness and delusion, and against the controlling global forces perpetuating that dogmatic rule.

At the personal level, Dubhe asks us to fight for the vision that we hold for the unfoldment of our lives--for the true nourishment, fulfillment, and freedom we seek. Dubhe asks us to emerge from our own personal dogmas (belief structures) that hold us bound in lives that are less than we truly want. Dubhe asks us to relinquish the mental tapes we play that say: "but that is how it was, so that is how must continue to be." Dubhe supports us to create a new and better future rather than merely react to that which we have already created. Dubhe asks us to relinquish personality mentality (logic) and to live the truth of our souls (heart).

Dubhe also conjoins the head of the Hyrda (Zeta Hydra), a multifarious source of destruction (every time Hercules took off one the Hydras heads, it immediately grew more), and the claws of the crab (Acubens of Cancer), the tenacious hold of religious-political dogma. Hence, the themes of Zeta Hydra, Acubens and Dubhe synthesize as one. Perseverance to manifest the greater vision of our physical fulfillment and spiritual freedom is required to overcome the undermining and relentless forces maintaining the very sticky and tenacious hold of religious-political dogma--and that of our personal belief patterns.

Application of Creative Power

Mars conjoins our Dubhe New Moon kicking off a potent lunar cycle and setting the theme of creative action and use of power to manifest the greater reality we want, the greater vision we hold.

Our last lunar cycle was one of leaving old dwellings and structures of consciousness that we hold in our capacity to interrelate and coparticipate. This cycle is one of fighting for a greater vision beyond our personal dogmas--beyond the structural patterns of thought we hold that had governed the nature of our relationships. Things can be different if we are willing to fight to make it so. (The term fight is used here in its healthy sense--to creatively act for what is true and right.)

Mars Psychophysiology:

Mars governs the base chakra (the seat of survival and unconsciousness) and our sexual capacity and function. Mars governs our creative force and our capacity to use our creative power to initiate action and response.

Mars in its clear expression is creativity assertively applied with power, strength, and confidence. Mars embodies abilities of leadership, is self-reliant, victorious, audacious, brave, instinctual, passionate, erotic and willful.

Mars generally is associated with only the male while Venus and the Moon with the female, but both males and females have hearts and base chakras. Both have the capacity for love and application of creative power and sexual force. In Atlantian lore, the female was the aggressor, the male the seduced. The Moon in many cultures is also thought of as male, though today generally its intuitive quality is considered a female trait. I suggest it is neither and both. Although we can associate Mars with the Male and Venus with the Female in today's world, it helps to think of Mercury, Venus, and Mars vertically aligned in both sexes rather than merely defining the sexes. Respectively they embody the three primary bio-energy centers: the intellect, communication; the heart, intuition; and sexuality, creative power.

Mercury alone is "logistical thinking," the integration of Mercury with Venus results in "intuitive knowing," and the integration of Mercury, Venus, and Mars results in "experiential wisdom" applied in creative manifestation.

Mars (base chakra / sexuality) is generally the facet of self that is held in most judgment due to this force having been used destructively and manipulatively in the history of the solar system. Because of this, total rejection and lack of love is often projected toward the Mars (male) quality--alienating it even more. Mars is now dubbed the planet of war. Without love (heart - Venus - female), Mars expresses as a wayward and ballistic use of power in conflict.

Mars in its aberrant expression (base chakra issues): all survival issues; fear of not having enough, hoarding, and jealousy. There can be a need to control, manipulate, and exploit others or one's environment for personal gain and sustenance. There can be an inability to trust self, Earth, and to experience the connection between the two. Aberrant Mars feels unloved and unsupported, with the experience to affirm it, which can result in wayward or ballistic behavior, isolation, loneliness, hate, greed, brutality or self-annihilation. Aberrant Mars can express as an inability to see or discern manipulative or dark forces; it can be over-bearing, argumentative, and intimidating, which hides a lack of self-confidence. Aberrant Mars can also expresses as judgment about use of other's creativity, use of power, and sexuality, as infertility or impotency, and as sexual frustrations and dysfunctional reproductive organs.

Primary associated bio-energy centres: Base chakra; all reproductive glands: prostate, testicles, ovaries; also the adrenals and kidneys, and the liver and blood. There are musculature tie-ins to the right arm, right knee, and the right calf (the ability and power to act on both short term and long term goals). Common secondary tie-ins occur to the thyroid and liver. Associated brain centers: Ego Pressure (sex regulation), cerebrum, pituitary, and hypothalamus--regulating blood pressure, stress response, sexual activity, Xi (Chi), and kundalini release.

Use of Personal Will

This lunar cycle brings to the forefront issues of using our creative power and sexuality from personal will alone verses using our creative energy in alignment with our intended soul destiny--the application of Mars in attunement to the theme of Dubhe. Our creative power is to be used in alignment with divine will to fulfill our destiny.

An Asteroid Smorgasbord for the Dragon

Just before the Crescent Moon, on Aug 10, the Sun and Mars trine the asteroid Ceres just as it is about to begin its retrograde period. At the same time, the Moon conjoins the asteroid Juno--asteroid of covenant relationships. Just after the Crescent Moon of Aug 12, the Moon conjoins Venus (a reminded of where the answers are found - heart), and the Sun and Mars oppose the asteroid Pallas, already in its retrograde period, while Ceres begins its retrograde period on Aug 13.

The key here is Ceres, revealing how we nurture and how we are nurtured. Ceres has a mothering quality, embodies agricultural qualities, and reveals our ability to be in universal flow--the unification of giving and receiving as one flow of energy through ourselves and in our relationship with the Earth and the land. Ceres asks us to acknowledge our inner needs, to have self-love and self-worth. Ceres is of concern and caring for others and for the Earth.

Ceres begins its retrograde period in the tormenting psycho-emotion waters of sidereal Pisces conjoining the Second Node of the Dragon (Delta Draco). Here we are asked to relinquish limiting emotional patterns that entrap us in psychic forces that keep us from the fulfillment of living our soul's destiny (intent) that is held by the pulsating flame burning in our hearts. Retrograde periods provide us the opportunity to re-define the facets of ourselves embodied by the planet or asteroid. The Ceres retrograde (redefining) period in sidereal Pisces continues through November.

Pallas in this mix asks us to look at how we spitefully withdraw and push away the very thing we desire due to our judgments of the all to human world. Pallas asks us to creatively co-participate from the maturity gained only through experience of having been on both sides of the fence at one time or another. Retrograde Pallas (in the overlap area of sidereal Capricorn and Aquarius) has been asking us to learn too apply our creative wisdom in the interest of all parties involved, rather than from righteous attitudes that excluding others and validate only self.

Juno aligning with the hind of the Lion, and under the auspices of the fallen powers of the Bear, asks us to become clear of the toxicity in our own lives that keep us from participating in mutual respect and equality within our relationships.

A Challenge to Claim our Personal Power

Our First Quarter Moon of Aug 14-15, in the clutches of the Scorpion, aligns with Unuk-Al-Hai, the neck of the serpent held in the hand of Ophiuchus, master over the forces of human life, Alpha Lupus, and Beta Centauri. That which presents itself just prior to the First Quarter Moon challenges us to claim our personal power and use it to free ourselves from lower order petty interests and issues that perpetuate our demise, and to apply our creative power and sexuality to claim our greater fulfillment in life.

The Opportunity - Communication in Relationships

In a rather potent "Pollinating Phase," on Aug 21-22, the Moon conjoins Uranus opposite the Sun and Mars, while an opportunity for growth presents itself as Mercury conjoins Juno, supporting radical change in how we interrelate and communicate.

The Mercury-Juno conjunction occurs under the auspices of the fallen totalitarian dictatorial seat of the world powers. Either we blindly follow that directive and communicate from the lower-order expression of Juno in dictatorial competitive one-upmanship or we communicate from mutual respect and equality in our relationships (those relationships that are personal and those between countries) thereby claiming our personal power to manifest the greater vision that we truly want, that which is truly nourishing. The choice is ours.

Realization of the Theme

Our Full Moon of Aug 22 in sidereal Aquarius conjoins the Cygnus X-3 Black Hole. Black Holes, in general, have an all or nothing nature to them--no in-between. To enter a black hole in consciousness requires relinquishment of thought and of lesser modes of being, those associated with mundane and petty pursuits. This requires the willingness and personal integrity to go deep within our consciousness, to allow a disintegration of the constructs of self we hold, of what we think ourselves to be, and to emerge with our true essence, the truth of our souls. We then must bring that pure intent back into our life expression. The successful feat results in an inversion or flip in consciousness--with an 'aha' of great magnitude.

The Cygnus X-3 Black hole lies upon the Galactic Equator in the "Eye of the Messianic Needle and provides realization about the essence of our soul's incarnational intent transcending (preceding) our expression into our dualistic male and female roles. That which is of true importance to our incarnational purpose can be realized here.

Focus, Dedication & Commitment

As we move into the Manifestation and Demonstration part of the Lunar Cycle on Aug 26, the Moon conjoins Ceres while the asteroid Vesta (directly opposite Pallas) aligns with Dubhe, the star of our New Moon Theme.

Vesta is holder of the eternal purifying flame of the soul and asks us to be clear vessels--focused, dedicated and committed to the theme of this lunar cycle--to be willing to fight for that greater vision that supports our true nourishment.

Motivation to Take a New Tack

Our Last Quarter Moon of Aug 30-31 resides in the Hyades, arousing the inner need to initiate change in the fundamental material aspects of our very human lives--to change how we participate in response to the diversionary lures and throws of mortal life.

Just before the New Moon of Sept 6, the Moon aligns with Mars, the last alignment in this lunar cycle. Mars has since moved to align with the star Alpha Sextans in sidereal Leo, summing up this lunar cycle. Here we find passionate motivation to take a new tack upon our life course so we may manifest the visions we hold from new level of emotional clarity, a clarity we had the opportunity to have gained during this lunar cycle.
