January 2, 2003 New Moon
Dreams of our Souls
January 2, 2003 - February 1, 2003
The first New Moon of 2003 lies in the sidereal sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius is a galactic constellation as well as an ecliptical constellation. It lies in the heavens where the galactic plane or river (Milky Way) flows into the incarnate plane of the soul (the ecliptic). The galactic plane provides the greater nourishing context for the incarnating soul.
Our new moon theme is set by Nunki (sigma) of Sagittarius. Nunki is the star of the "Proclamation of the Sea"--referring to the greater flowing waters of our Milky Way galaxy--a ocean of Divine Love. Nunki lies on the vane of the arrow held in the archer's hand and provides the "universal flow"--a guiding and stabilizing force--used to ensure the Zen archer's arrow hits its target. "Universal flow" does not imply a process of abandonment to whatever happens, it means becoming attuned to the universal currents creating the movement toward our highest ideals and dreams. To be in universal flow is to actively participate in attunement to our souls' intents and purposes. Nunki asks us to get out of our own way--to let go and let God, as the saying goes--that is, to set the judgments and attitudes of lower human mind aside and ride the cosmic currents guiding us toward our evolutionary fulfillment.
This lunar cycle asks us to not be lost in the waves and turbulence of our surface lives, but to trust in divine love, in the underlying spiritual power that is truly supporting our incarnational sojourns. This cycle asks us to invoke and access the divine flow of universal love, to function within the flowing waters working through our souls. This provides the power that gives us the confidence to move undauntedly through the material world and reach the dreams of our souls.
Conjoining Nunki is Beta Scuti. Scutum is the "Galactic Shield of the Holy Cross." Scutum lies along the galactic equator just above the Zen archer. The Galactic Shield of the Holy Cross is emblazoned with the symbol of the Holy Cross (the cross within the circle). Scutum is "defender of the Cycle of the Holy Cross"--of the greater evolutionary cycle of the soul. Scutum asks us to defend and live for our true soul purpose to ensure our evolutionary fulfillment on Earth.
A Bridge of Light
Chiron plays a key role in this lunar cycle. Chiron not only conjoins our new moon, but later in the lunar cycle, as Mercury stations to complete its retrograde period, Mercury conjoins Chiron and our new moon star, Nunki. Chiron opens the way for new paths in our lives that heretofore were unavailable--and in this stellar mythos--new paths for us to fulfill the destinies of our souls.
Chiron Psychophysiology
Chiron, characteristic of both a comet and an asteroid, is generally called a "planetoid," although in early 1995 it was reclassified to a comet status due to a March '94 observation of two discrete ice-jets emanating from its surface. Classically, Chiron is "the wounded healer." Chiron is the bridge from the old to the new and is associated with all forms of healing work and with new discoveries in the health field and medicinal arts. Chiron works at the cellular and DNA level and is supports the establishment of new neurological circuitry. Chiron is believed to not be native to our solar system but is a welcomed and needed visitor. In the astrological chart, Chiron indicates where personal healing is required, it may indicate where a bridge is to be created and crossed. If prominently placed, Chiron may indicate involvement in the health-care field, or involvement with discoveries, inventions, and new technologies or modalities applied in this arena.
A Chiron-Earth harmonic synchronization occurred from 1994 through 1997 centered near the Chiron perihelion of Feb. 14, 1996. Chiron's perihelion harmonic (raised 15 octaves to 7.747 Hz) is very close to Earth's primary resonances which are between 7 Hz and 8 Hz. This is also resonant to the alpha / theta brain-wave region--the crossover point from relaxed attentive state to the creative intuitive dream state. This cross-resonance was indicative of strong Chironic themes accentuating at that time on Earth. This provided impetus to pursue a greater level of personal healing, and it brought that theme into vogue for mass consciousness. It helped humanity realize the need to find a way to create and cross a bridge from the old paradigm to a new one.

The Mercury Retrograde
Mercury begins its retrograde while in early sidereal Capricorn, just before the New Moon. Throughout the first three weeks of this lunar cycle, Mercury retrogrades back through Sagittarius to the location of the New Moon, conjoining with Chiron and Nunki as it stations. It moves direct on Jan 23, just after the Disseminating Moon.
Retrograde cycles provide opportunities to redefine and evolve the areas of our selves that the retrograding planet or asteroid embodies.

Mercury Psychophysiology
The astrophysical resonances of Mercury embody these aspects of our psycho-physiology (our entwined mental, emotional and physical facets of self): logistical thinking, speech and communication, and all neurological processes. Mercury's corresponding bi-energy centre is the throat / thyroid (seat of suppressed anger)--with a neurological tie-in to the liver (our ability to act on our truth) which also expresses through the right knee and calf muscles.
Evolved Mercurial qualities express as creative, coherent and intelligent expression. This is our will to live and speak our Truth in confidence, clarity and appropriateness. Mercury provides ability for mental focus, concentration, even telepathy and telekinesis. Mercury's resonance defines learning and reasoning abilities, language skills, and some motor skills associated with coordination and dexterity.
Aberrant Mercury holds suppressed anger and expresses as covert hostility--spite and vengefulness. Suppressed anger blocks effective communication and speech, and distorts what we hear. Appropriateness is the mentalemtional pattern held in musculature in the back of the neck. Aches in the back of the neck can indicate we are not living our truth--inappropriately living a lie or are in denial of the truth wanting to express from our hearts. Suppressed anger can create an inability to concentrate, learn, grow and change. It creates confusion within self to make choices that are not in the highest interest of our true soul destiny and greatest happiness.
Thyroid related problems are driven from suppressed anger. This can express as overt hostility, incessant mentalization of life (excessive Mercurialism), endless talking and thinking; and forcing one's beliefs onto others in righteousness.
This Mercury retrograde period is a time of disengaging and redefining mind, logistics, and our neurology so we may attune to the universal flow that supports us to make real the intended destiny of souls. The previous Dec 4 total solar eclipse lunar cycle began a new octave of experience. This lunar cycle and its Mercury retrograde period provides the opportunity to get attuned to our soul paths in this new experiential octave and in the new annual solar cycle of 2003.
Mercury begins its retrograde in the first decan of early Capricorn where the theme is about concretizing the visions and ideals of earlier Sagittarius in matter and form. As Mercury retrogrades back through Sagittarius we will redefine our vision and ideals so they may be demonstrably applied as Mercury continues through Capricorn in the following lunar cycle commencing on Feb 1, 2003.
Although this process is occurring in our individual lives, it is worth noting that the first decan of Capricorn is also of applied strategic Earthgrid places, and tools of war and peace. The redefining period occurring now will be one that determines how we apply our strategies and arsenal of tools in the February cycle, not only personally and in our relations, but also in the increasing intensification of threatening war.

The Luckiest of the Lucky
Also in this lunar cycle, we have the long awaited completion of the Uranus-Pallas conjunction occurring on Jan 5, 2003. This cycle began back in June of 2002.
From the June 2002 Lunar Month
Regarding the Pallas-Uranus CycleCan't Hide On One Side
The asteroid Pallas begins its retrograde period on June 13. Pallas has been conjoined Uranus for the last few weeks. This extended (several month) conjunction occurs just as Juno goes forth commencing relationships anew.
Uranus supports us to radically sever from the conformity of the past, and brings its capacity to activate higher neurological resonances in our second chakras of interpersonal relations (liver / spleen balance)--into all that is Pallas related. This process will continue through Jan 5, 2003 when Pallas and Uranus conjoin for their final trigger.
To learn of Pallas, its relation to the second chakra of interpersonal relations,
and of the other asteroids see: The Asteroids#Pallas.
Pallas-Uranus "demands we no longer hide in the old and typical behavioral modality of spiteful withdrawal based upon judgments and side-taking--hiding in the who did who wrong song. Instead we must address our challenging experiences by taking mutual responsibility for their creation and co-participate in mutual respect and equality. It demands we find creative solution behind spiteful withdrawal, which supports us all to radically severe from the conformity of our antiquated ways. At the same time, the climax of the Juno-Uranus opposition theme supports significant change in how we interact in our relationships--those between individuals and those between countries.

Radical Change for Relations, Juno & Uranus
Uranus began its retrograde cycle a few days ago in the previous lunar month (May 2002). This Uranus Retrograde Cycle (the first in sidereal Aquarius) supports humanity to radically shift from covert self-interest to humanitarian concern.
Now, on Jan 5, 2003, the final trigger of Pallas-Urauns fortuitously occurs just into sidereal Aquarius, with Pallas next to and parallel (in the same ecliptical latitude) with the beneficent, lucky, and humanitarian star Sadalsuud, Beta Aquarius. Sadalsuud brings opportunity in the kingdom for those functioning in the higher interest of their souls and in the interest of humanitarian vision.
Uranus and Pallas conjoin Sadr of Cygnus--the Messianic Needle of the Heavens (Takra), classically the Swan--our great cross lying in the northern heavens upon the galactic equator. Sadr is the heart of the swan. Sadr supports us to shift from the interests driven by personality facades and egoic mind, and to participate in the interest of soul consciousness and humanitarian purpose.
This final trigger of the Uranus-Pallas conjunction marks the opportunity to re-emerge from spiteful withdrawing and side-taking (see the asteroids#Pallas), from the growth gained over the last several months regarding these issues. It allows us to radically sever from the lower-order patterns of the past, and it allows us new opportunities to co-creatively apply our wisdom gained from the past in the new humanitarian soul-aware consciousness emerging now on Earth as we walk together through the portal of the Holy Cross.
