Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

Spirit Guidance

m100
Our Galaxy looks very similar to the Andromeda spiral galaxy shown here.
Our Galaxy, the Milky Way, is a whirling disc composed of hundreds of billions of stars, of which our sun is one, spinning around a dense and massive bulge of stars and a black hole called the Galactic Nucleus or Galactic Centre. Our galaxy is one of about 30 galaxies comprising a cluster of galaxies called our "Local Group." The galaxies in our Local Group gently revolve around each other much like new organisms floating in a protective embryonic fluid.

Our Local Group is merely one galactic cluster of many that comprise yet a large group called our "Local Super Cluster." All of these embryonic clusters, harboring many evolving galaxies and forms of life, are like protective cocoons floating within the care of the Super Cluster.

m87
M87 in the Virgo Cluster
The Virgo Cluster, one of the larger members of the Super Cluster, is comprised of about 200 known galaxies and it lies at the center of our Local Super Cluster. "Super Galactic Centre" (SGC) is a term that refers to a point in the Virgo Cluster that marks the centre of our entire Super Cluster. The supergiant galaxy M87 composed of ancient stars in the Virgo Cluster is believed to mark or lie very close to the Super Galactic Centre--a black hole believed to be about five billion times as massive as our sun. Our Galaxy, nested in our Local Group, lies about 50 million light years distant from the Super Galactic Centre.

If this is not expansive enough for one's mere mortal mind, our Super Cluster appears to reside in an enormous field of what we only perceive as radio sources we call quasars. A quasar emits the energy of an entire cluster of galaxies. Thus, they are thought to be the black hole signatures of other very distant galactic clusters nesting in an endless field of creative substance.

This vast field of consciousness, which suspends an unlimited number of Galactic Clusters, all unique with their own galaxies and their diverse star systems, is also filled with "Dark Matter," matter that we do not see. Space, at one time thought of as empty, is now recognized to be comprised of substance--perhaps a step toward recognition of the creative intelligence permeating space. Honoring this underlying or transcendent nature of reality, astrophysicists have come to call Dark Matter, "Quintessence," a term once used by Aristotle to describe the eather. We call this, all of the astrophysical diversity we have come to detect, this field of magnificent stellar creation, our "Known Universe"; and what we see in it, is but through our very limited, electromagnetic-spectrum, lightspeed-dependent modality of perception. Yet still, it appears this Known Universe is too but a bubble of perception amongst an infinity.

Astrologically speaking, Super Galactic Centre can be thought of as the point defining our spiritual origin, a place offering nurturing and guidance for the evolutionary fulfillment of our souls. It lies in early sidereal Virgo (~7°), just above the Virgin's head, near the Halo of the Virgin (Coma Berenices), on the border of the two constellations. Super Galactic Centre provides a phenomenal opportunity for our greater wellbeing, but only if we are willing to totally surrender personality and egoic-based beliefs, attitudes, and past ways of living, and listen to and act upon the spiritual guidance that the natural world provides.

As is the case of most black holes-–this is all or nothing deal. Super Galactic Centre offers the opportunity to transmute our past for something far greater, but we must be willing to live from Self / Soul rather than from self-importance. We must be willing to relinquish the entirety of attachment to any importance we may assign to our previous experience into this black hole of pure (selfless) Divine Love and follow the emerging guiding currents emanating from it.

On an individual level, the SGC black hole opportunity may present itself in a variety of ways as unique as there are people on the Earth. This can involve the need to relinquish personal scenarios or past events in our lives that may seem that, if we let them go, the ramifications will result in our total demise. But on the contrary, it is only through the surrender, the relinquishment of the past into this massive black hole of cosmic consciousness, of Divine Intelligence, that will allow our re-emergence, our re-birth, into a new light of being. This super galactic inversion requires a conscious act where we pull the stream of our past experience into the singularity of the moment, allow it to be consumed in the ever-present now, and re-express self into a new stream unfolding into the future. This can feel as if our world is being turned inside out as our lives are re-defined.

In this spiritual light our New Moon resides. This lunar cycle (and the next few) may offer us, as individuals, and as a world, an opportunity to graduate into a higher octave of co-creative participation. It may offer us opportunity to re-align our lives, individually and globally, with new facets of consciousness emerging in our lives. In this lunar cycle we are asked to empty ourselves and become pure vessels of spirit, committed to the fulfillment of the paths of our souls, to live Divine Will, here and now, moment-by-moment, true to the heart of the Virgin principle.

The conjoining stars of Coma Berenices (the halo of the Virgin) and Zaniah of Virgo ask us to listen to our soul / spirit guidance and to act upon it. Zaniah is of "right use of will."

Commencement: The New Mars Cycle

Mars completes its retrograde on Sept 27, just after the New Moon. This lunar cycle marks the beginning of the NEW Mars 780-day synodic cycle (details of which have been presented in the previous lunar month).

The Mars retrograde provided a time of change in all aspects associated with the expression and manifestation of Mars in our lives: how we use our creative force; in our ability to initiate action; in our expression and experience of sexuality and passion; in the masculine experience in our lives; and in the nature of the expression of the patriarchal force in the world. We now move forward in the new Mars Theme--one set by the beneficent, future vision, and humanitarian stars of the Aquarian Waterman.

To learn more of this Mars retrograde, the astronomy of the synodic cycles of Mars, the astrological themes of the current Mars cycles, and the expression of Mars in our lives, please visit " The Mars Cycle & the 2003 Close Encounter."

Expanding on the Theme

Our First Crescent Moon of Sept 29 triggers the beginning of a planetary and asteroid configuration called a "Finger of God." It continues through the First Quarter Moon of Oct 2. This Finger of God, pointing from Juno and Mercury to retrograde Pallas in the tormenting waters of sidereal Pisces, demands we deal with our psycho-emotional issues of judgment and spiteful withdrawal in our relationships--those based upon our resentments, angers, and who's right / who's wrong attitudes of immaturity, which are all driven from arrogant self-importance. We will most likely see this theme upon the global stage; and as always, that arena reflects the same issues we carry within our selves and that express in our individual lives. Here lies our "external stimulus" in the lunar cycle to move from the inspiration quarter of the lunar cycle and into the action quarter, which begins on Oct 2.

Our stimulus to action: Will we act from judgmental issues of this side verses that and destroy any harmony in our relations or acknowledge we have all been on both sides of the fence at one time or another and find solution from the experiential wisdom gained from the past. Will we our surrender the past harmoniously and move into a new and fulfilling octave of experience in our personal lives as clear vessels of spirit, and will we express a beneficent humanitarian-focused creative intelligence in the world, amongst all of our relations?

Juno conjoining Vesta on the Moon's South Node compounds this planetary dynamo. During this few day period we find opportunity to address old patterns driven from superiority / inferiority complexes that keep us from getting clear, focused, and committed in our relationships, and that keeps us from co-participating in mutual respect and equality--a prerequisite to move into this new octave of consciousness now emerging on Earth. If we are going to rise to the occasion of the new currents becoming active now, and a new beneficent Mars expression, we must address the issues we hold in the most fragmented area of the human vessel--in the second chakra of inter-personal relations.

To learn more of this chakra and of Juno, Vesta, and Pallas, and of their expression in our lives please see "The Asteroids."

Letting Go

All of us would like to easily engage in the new currents stirring in our lives. However, accelerating with refined vibrational currents requires we relinquish those emotional patterns within ourselves and the living situations in our lives that no longer serve us and that do not resonate with the emerging new currents. Keeping up with the accelerating vibrational shifts occurring in our world requires we make profound changes within. The more we resist making the changes in our lives the more turmoil we experience because we are out of tune with the accelerating energies. The more we facilitate those changes in our lives the more harmony, flow, and synchronicity we find in our experience. Disease and discord within ourselves is due to living in discord with the natural world around us, living out of tune (in both space and time) to the changing cycles of life.

A dynamic Gibbous Moon of (the eve of Oct 5 MST) Oct 6, approaching Uranus and then Mars in early sidereal Aquarius inspires us to push away from the conformity of the past and to break ground into new territory in our interpersonal pursuits and interactions.

Realizations

Our Full Moon of Oct 9-10 conjoins an irregular galaxy (IC 1613 - in our Local Group) in Cetus, the fear instilling techno-bureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness, and the Second Node of the Dragon (Delta Draco) as it approaches the asteroid Pallas (all in sidereal Pisces). Both of these stellar entries conjoin Alpheratz, the head of the entrapped princess. The node of the Dragon and the irregular galaxy can bring initiatory lessons due to naiveté of how psycho-emotional forces lead us into and perpetuate confused and entrapping situations; and also how our susceptibility is due to toxic or unrefined physical conditions, and / or living in situations that are no longer in our highest interest.

The manifestation and demonstration Moon of Oct 14 lies in Hyades: asking us to demonstrate our realizations in and through the physical entrappings and confusions of life. The way is through.

Changes

Our Last Quarter Moon of Oct 18, inspiring "inner need to initiate change," conjoins Procyon on the cusp of sidereal Gemini / Cancer.

Procyon is the Babylonian "Kakkab Paldara," which means "Star of the Crossing." It is one of the five stars creating the "Egyptian X" with Betelgeuse of Orion, Naos of the Argo, Phaet of Columba the Dove, and with the center star Sirius--the Great World Teacher. In classic astrology, Procyon portends wealth, renown, and good fortune. Conjoining Pollux of Gemini (the ambassador), Procyon supports allegiance to a greater cause, purpose, or faction. Procyon inspires allying with others of like mind or with a group to achieve a greater purpose than one could achieve alone. The desert Arabs knew Sirius and Procyon as "Al Ahawat al Suhail"--the (radiant, glorious, and beautiful) sisters of Canopus: thus recognizing all three to be associated with greater evolutionary matters and the fulfillment of souls' greater evolutionary purpose. This inspires co-participation with our soul colleagues to live the fulfillment of our greater souls purposes.

Our last quarter moon stirs an inner need to make this cross-x-ing from our past physical-emotional entrapments into the faster currents guiding our lives--a crossing that will continue through the next few lunar cycles.

Ideals and Dreams

Neptune completes its retrograde period on Oct 22. Neptune began a new 367-day cycle on August 4. During its retrograde, we were redefining our visions and ideals regarding our responsibilities in the world and with our extended families. The theme was set by the star Armus of Capricorn, Albali of Aquarius, and the black hole SMC X-1, a potent neutron star x-ray source. These stars ask us to see beyond our immediate families' needs and into the needs of our soul families and the greater human family. We now move forth with this theme and the new ideals and dreams we have envisioned throughout this last several months.

Focus to the Future

We coalesce the events and experiences of this lunar cycle on Balsamic Moon of Oct 21 and then turn our attention from this cycle toward the next to come, which begins on the New Moon of Oct 25.

Our next new moon conjoins the potent Centaurs X-3 Neutron Star Black Hole and Miaplacidus, the Beta star of Argo Navis, which is of migrations, journeys, the artsciences of "astronomical earthgrid spacetime mapping," and of Earth's sacred sites and evolutionary portals of consciousness. We will also experience the next eclipse pair in the following two lunar cycles--one lunar and one solar: the Full Moon lunar eclipse of Nov 8/9 and the New Moon solar eclipse of Nov 23.
More to come then
