April 19, 2004 New Moon
Bonds of the Soul, Freedom of Heart
April 19, 2004 - May 19, 2004
Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.
Are we walking together into our fulfillment or falling deeper into psycho-emotional entrapment? This is a question we often ask when it comes time to make a greater commitment--whether it is time to re-commit within an existing involvement or commit to an involvement entirely new. Whichever the case, in this lunar cycle, it is time to release any knots of entanglement that keep us from the beauty and perfection that is our legacy and to make those commitments that will free our hearts to fly.
This lunar cycle embodies the next pair of eclipses (one solar and one lunar).
Our New Moon of April 19 produces a Partial Solar Eclipse, which is visible from southern Africa and Antarctica. The Full Moon of May 4 produces a Total Lunar Eclipse, which is visible from the Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. To learn of the technical details of the eclipses see: http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/OH/OH2004.html
As an eclipse lunar cycle, it is one of relinquishment--the solar of releasing roles that are no longer rightfully ours and the lunar of releasing the emotional bonds within ourselves that glue us to involvements that are less than we truly want or deserve. It is a time of clearing the way so greater commitments of the Heart can ensue--for a greater love and life to reign.
Knots & Bonds
Two stars in early sidereal Aries set this April 19, 2004 New Moon eclipse theme: Alrisha (Kaitain), Alpha Pisces, the knot tying the two fishes of Pisces together, and Mirach, Beta Andromeda, the sash of the princess (which lies just north of Alrisha).
Alrisha is the knot of psycho-emotional entanglement in the mortal world, or simply of emotional bonds--the fishes caught and hung out to dry--bringing attention to any emotional ties that keep us bound from attaining our highest potential and divine destiny.
In contrast, Mirach, the belt, sash, or chord of Andromeda the Princess is a bond of strength, one of commitments and engagements. Mirach indicates betrothal of those destined to be together, and specifically is the declaration of commitment uniting them. Mirach is of the bonds in partnership that make it possible to live our highest potential and divine destiny. Mirach can literally imply tying the knot in matrimony, but more specifically, is of bonds of the soul, commitments to each other that make it possible for two to be or do something greater than either can be or do alone. Mirach is the star of union and of soul mates, of making it possible, through committed union, to live the exquisite radiance our souls desire.
Although Mirach conjoins Kaitain the knot of psychic-emotional entanglement, Mirach, being a bond of strength, does not imply entanglement in any negative sense, although the energies of Alrisha and Mirach conjoin--sometimes confusingly.
With Alrisha and Mirach creating a New Moon Eclipse theme, we have indication of the opportunity to release bonds, pursuits, or involvements that perpetuate antiquated roles we play with each other. At the same time, it provides an opening so we can make greater commitments and strengthen the bonds that allow us to step forth into a new era of life expression.
Although the theme here is of personal bonds, the commitments or entanglements that each of us are working with can involve other areas of life and may not be those of just personal relationships depending on how these stellar energies express in each of our lives.

Zubenelgenubi, the karmic seat for incarnating souls, lies upon the ecliptic. This location in the ecliptic is also the exalted seat of Saturn--lord of karmic retribution, keeper of time. Zubeneschamali, the dharmic seat, lies slightly north of the ecliptic. Zubenelgenubi reveals past patterns that keep us entrapped in the reincarnational clutches--from attaining our highest destiny and evolutionary freedom. Karma does not mean something bad, it simply means our past experiential path, one that must be reconciled by moving forth from our past into our future (dharma). This is our responsibility to complete our chosen paths of incarnational involvement so we may claim our evolutionary freedom and spiritual awakening. This evolutionary fulfillment is articulated by the Northern Crown, which lies above the Chelae.
The chelae create a symmetrical triangle with Dschuba, Delta Scorpio, head of the Scorpion at ~8° sidereal Scorpio, with Dschuba being the apex. Dschuba is the administrative seat determining the karmic / dharmic path of involvement for the incarnating soul, based on souls' experiential growth. Alignments with Dschuba are indicative of the need to take personal responsibility to evolve out of the perpetuated degeneration, death, and rebirthing incarnational entrapment of the chelae, while alignments within the chelae are of this entrapment and indicate karmic / dharmic responsibilities.
Conjoining Zubenelgenubi is Pulsar MP 1240, lying on the Galactic Equator in Cruces the Southern Cross. The Southern Cross lies below the "feet of the Virgin and the clutches of the Scorpion and embodies the original cardinality (pure intent) of our souls (also the four cardinal virtues seemly lost to most of humanity). North lies the Northern Crown, which embodies the fulfillment of living that cardinality, thus freeing our selves from the re-incarnational path of soul growth.
Pulsars in general are beacons from the currents of our souls. Pulsar MP 1240 (with a 0.3880 second pulse rate) reminds us that the way from our past is by seeking the original cardinality of the soul and living it. This is, to claim our original soul intent as our foundation and to reach beyond the entrapment we find our selves in for the Northern Crown--for our evolutionary freedom and fulfillment.
This Lunar Eclipse provides us the opportunity to relinquish emotional attachments to past involvements and ways of participating that perpetuate our entrapments. It supports us to get clear on our true responsibility to our souls' greater fulfillment rather than living in antiquated patterns of the past that limit that fulfillment.
Jupiter completes its retrograde period immediately following the Full Moon eclipse (also on May 4). Jupiter, currently stationing in mid sidereal Leo conjoins Alioth of the Great Bear and the stars of the Sextant. Jupiter, currently in strength (sextile) with Saturn, and our Full Moon eclipse, supports us to live under the dominion of higher law, of an expanded heart--the truth guiding our souls. Jupiter, Alioth, and Beta Sextans support us to use our personal will to mobilize a new approach to fulfill our truth.
Unique to Each
The "Manifestation and Demonstration" Disseminating Moon conjoins the Solar Apex on May 8. The unique direction toward which our sun travels in our galaxy is called the Solar Apex, which lies near the Vega star system. The Solar Apex embodies the unique and majestic path of the soul. Alignments with the Solar Apex ask us to honor that we each have a path that is totally unique to ourselves, a path which is beyond what others can see or even relate to. This is why we can not judge the experience or choices of others and must accept our own as right for us no matter what they look like to others.
Good News
Our Inner Need to Change
The Last Quarter Moon of May 11 lies in the overlap area of the Capricorn and Aquarius constellations conjoining Nashira and Beta Gruis. In keeping with astronomer Jullius Schiller's imaging, who combined Gruis the Crane with the Phoenix as Aaron the High Priest), I dub Beta Gruis as the throat chakra of Aaron. Here we find the quality of intelligent eloquence--the ability to articulate the wisdom of the priest-scientist. Nashira, a fortuitous star of Capricorn is "bringer of good news," especially regarding legal and constitutional matters.
Time to Fly
The Balsamic Moon occurs on May 14 in the emotional waters of mid-sidereal Pisces but conjoins fortuitous Algenib of the Great Square of Pegasus. Algenib, the wing of Pegasus, inspires us to lift ourselves above the emotional dramatics of the mortal world which feed our fear and keep us entrapped.
The time immediately before the Balsamic Moon is when we look back over the experience of the lunar cycle and coalesce our experience into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the next lunar cycle. As the Moon shifts, we turn our attention from the current lunar cycle and look toward the future in anticipation of the next to come.

The Sun moves into sidereal Taurus on May 15 and Juno, Venus, and Neptune all begin their retrograde periods on May 16 and 17.
As Venus begins its retrograde in sidereal Taurus, we begin the close of the last Venus synodic cycle. Venus will begin its new synodic cycle in the following lunar cycle. On June 4, 2004, Venus will make its rare passage across the sun, which will begin a new Cycle of the Heart. Venus will return direct in July at which time we will move forward with its new expression emblazoned upon our lives. This will be the first of two Venus Transits that aid to establish a new era on Earth. The second Venus Transit of the pair occurs in 2012).

Juno's retrograde occurs in sidereal Sagittarius. Juno's new cycle--a time of spiritual transmutation in partnerships--will begin in July.
Our next New Moon occurs on May 18 MST / 19 GMT in early sidereal Taurus. More to come then....
