Are we walking together into our fulfillment or falling deeper into psycho-emotional entrapment? This is a question we often ask when it comes time to make a greater commitment--whether it is time to re-commit within an existing involvement or commit to an involvement entirely new. Whichever the case, in this lunar cycle, it is time to release any knots of entanglement that keep us from the beauty and perfection that is our legacy and to make those commitments that will free our hearts to fly.
This lunar cycle embodies the next pair of eclipses (one solar and one lunar).
Our New Moon of April 19 produces a Partial Solar Eclipse, which is visible from southern Africa and Antarctica. The Full Moon of May 4 produces a Total Lunar Eclipse, which is visible from the Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia. As an eclipse lunar cycle, it is one of relinquishment--the solar of releasing roles that are no longer rightfully ours and the lunar of releasing the emotional bonds within ourselves that glue us to involvements that are less than we truly want or deserve. It is a time of clearing the way so greater commitments of the Heart can ensue--for a greater love and life to reign.
Knots & Bonds
Two stars in early sidereal Aries set this April 19, 2004 New Moon eclipse theme: Alrisha (Kaitain), Alpha Pisces, the knot tying the two fishes of Pisces together, and Mirach, Beta Andromeda, the sash of the princess (which lies just north of Alrisha).
Alrisha is the knot of psycho-emotional entanglement in the mortal world, or simply of emotional bonds--the fishes caught and hung out to dry--bringing attention to any emotional ties that keep us bound from attaining our highest potential and divine destiny.
In contrast, Mirach, the belt, sash, or chord of Andromeda the Princess is a bond of strength, one of commitments and engagements. Mirach indicates betrothal of those destined to be together, and specifically is the declaration of commitment uniting them. Mirach is of the bonds in partnership that make it possible to live our highest potential and divine destiny. Mirach can literally imply tying the knot in matrimony, but more specifically, is of bonds of the soul, commitments to each other that make it possible for two to be or do something greater than either can be or do alone. Mirach is the star of union and of soul mates, of making it possible, through committed union, to live the exquisite radiance our souls desire.
Although Mirach conjoins Kaitain the knot of psychic-emotional entanglement, Mirach, being a bond of strength, does not imply entanglement in any negative sense, although the energies of Alrisha and Mirach conjoin--sometimes confusingly.
With Alrisha and Mirach creating a New Moon Eclipse theme, we have indication of the opportunity to release bonds, pursuits, or involvements that perpetuate antiquated roles we play with each other. At the same time, it provides an opening so we can make greater commitments and strengthen the bonds that allow us to step forth into a new era of life expression.
Although the theme here is of personal bonds, the commitments or entanglements that each of us are working with can involve other areas of life and may not be those of just personal relationships depending on how these stellar energies express in each of our lives.

The Andromeda Galaxy

The Andromeda Galaxy was first viewed as a nebulous cloud in the heavens, but with the advent of powerful telescopes, the galactic beauty became visible as our nearest galactic neighbor. This marked the time for humanity to see its own galactic potential, to realize we can become much more than what in the past was merely an obscure nebulous notion. M31 holds the ideal for the evolution of our galaxy and for life in it. It expresses the dual forces of life spiraling in beauty and perfection. The Andromeda Galaxy inspires us to be all that we can be and to see opportunity for attainment rather than limitations blocking our intended destiny (Sedgewick). Here lies inspiration to become our true galactic (spiritually illumined) selves in visible expression of our highest potential and to demonstrate our perfection by settling for nothing less.
Expanding Upon the Theme
Our Crescent Moon of April 23 conjoins Venus and Mars--uniting the two in late sidereal Taurus, near the North Horn of the Bull, over Rigel and Bellatrix of Orion, and under the auspices of Capella of Auriga, the Messenger of Light. Here lies inspiration for enterprising planning and tenacious perseverance to creatively manifest our heart's desire through the synthesized masculine and feminine principles, or through male / female relations. Masculine / feminine allegiances, co-participating in mutual supportive balance, create a natural entwined spiral of life that is the vessel for the Divine to manifest. As we now make the crossing in Earth's precessional Cycle of the Holy Cross back into Unified Awareness (Christ Consciousness / Soul, Galactic Awareness), the spiritually matured nature of the masculine and feminine can now emerge to illuminate this spiral of life into its intended radiance and rapture.
Emergence
Our Stimulus to Action
Our First Quarter Moon of April 27, which begins the action quarter of the lunar cycle, conjoins Praesepe, the essence of the Scarab (sidereal Cancer) theme: emergence out of darkness, dogma, and delusion, out of the antiquated entrapments we had been living in, and our transmutation from darkness into light. Praesepe is of new beginnings, migration, shedding old skins, skeletons, and cocoons. It is of emerging out of the frenetic confusion of mass consciousness; finding our new path and direction; leaving behind old dwellings and the structures of consciousness they represent; and getting out of our personal or collective dogma and the darkness it creates. As the crib or manger, Praesepe also articulates the protective and nurturing environment supporting our emergence process, our new birth.
Praesepe may indicate a new dwelling place is at hand or that one is in order to find. As with the migration of bees from an old hive, before identifying their new direction, there can be frenetic confusion at first, a scattered sense and lack of direction before moving toward their new home. This is temporary and is part of intuiting the feeling for the right direction, much like turning in a complete circle to identify the way that feels right. Praesepe asks us to trust in our magnetic sense, on our inner compass, and to hone in on our new direction while honoring the inherent confusion of the emergence process.
Alignments with Praesepe can bring up the fear of letting go--a fear bound in our belief patterns and those of collective consciousness. Praesepe can bring our attention to the possibility of being lost in our own mental obscurations--in the reasons "why not" to go forward, why not to change--in the frenetic buzz of collective mass consciousness--in the dogmas of life, whether personal or collective. Praesepe asks us to step out of our limiting environments and structures of consciousness and to find new places fitting to our emerging new awareness.
Adding to the theme of Praesepe is the southern star Azmidiske, Xi Puppis of Argo Navis, the highest star on the aplustre of the stern of the ship sailing along the galactic equator. Azmidiske, an exalted star lying exactly on the galactic equator, holds the signature of the mission of the Argo--the emblem of the mission of the soul. The ornately sculptured aplustre on ancient ships held an energetic, like a talisman, for the purpose the ship was built. Together, Praesepe and Azmidiske ask us to trust in and follow the subtle currents at work in our lives, currents that are leading us on the next legs of our journeys in life and toward our highest fulfillment.
Logistics and Environments
Mercury completes its retrograde on April 30, engaging us fully in the new 116-day Mercury synodic cycle theme, which began in the last lunar cycle. It involves creating a proper and harmonious environment that supports our transition, birth, or new beginning. This Mercury theme continues through the next several lunar cycles.
The asteroid Vesta conjoins Uranus in sidereal Aquarius on April 30 as well, supporting us to get clear, focused, and committed in any radical changes we are making in our lives. Uranus supports is to break from the conformity of the past, and brings lightning like breakthroughs and insights of unconventional inspiration. Both conjoin very fortuitous stars in sidereal Aquarius, the primary being Sadachbia of Aquarius, lucky star of hidden things. Sadachbia indicates a physical gift of extreme value to be discovered, revealed, or claimed. Vesta asks us to be clear and open enough within our selves to do so. Attraction and Involvement
Our Gibbous Moon of May 1 begins the "Pollinating Phase" of the Lunar Cycle. The Moon having just entered sidereal Virgo separates in square from Mars, which just entered sidereal Gemini, inspiring a whirlwind of dynamic communication and creative action.
The Full Moon Eclipse
Our Full Moon Total Eclipse of May 4, on the Lunar South Node, occurs in late sidereal Libra, immediately south of Zubenelgenubi, the southern claw of the Scorpion.
The two "Chelae (claws) of the Scorpion," Zuben-el-genubi and Zuben-es-chamalli lie at 20° and 24° sidereal Libra respectively. These two principal stars, the chelae, have been severed from the Scorpion and now create the constellation Libra (the balance or scales) thus hiding the esoteric significance of this part of the zodiak from the modern day astrologer. Earlier Libra is actually the continuance of the constellation of Virgo--the legs of the Virgin. The mythical image here (picture language) is of the Virgin giving birth into the Chelae (clutches) of the Scorpion--into reincarnational entrapment, that is, into the path of soul growth through the balance of incarnate experience.
