Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

Communication & Exchange

This Lunar Cycle theme begins just into the first couple degrees of sidereal Gemini with the Sun and Moon conjoining Mercury. Opposite is Galactic Center (2° sidereal Sag), which embodies the essence of soul-level spiritual awareness and prowess, here in Gemini is the essence of the Gemini Twins--that of high intensity intellectual communication, knowledge, information, and the exchange of it. The first degree or two of a sidereal sign embodies the essence of the sign in potent seed form.

"The Twins" are marked by the two principal stars: Pollux, the immortal extraterrestrial one, and Castor the mortal terrestrial one, the extraterrestrial incarnate. These two stars mark the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini. The Twins stand upon the galactic equator at a 60° angle to the ecliptic plane, with the "Feet of the Twins" lying in earlier Gemini, upon the "galactic node" of the Holy Cross--the "Gate of Man." Thus, Gemini is a galactic constellation, one common to our solar plane (ecliptic), and so with sol / soul purpose expressing in the daily activity of humankind. (Our feet are associated with our longer term / sole / sole / soul purpose.)

The Twins are ambassadors. The role of the Twins is one of linking and uniting the mission of the soul (galactic plane) into and through our incarnate daily affairs and mode of participating in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind. And of course, Gemini is of communication, commerce, and activity.

The theme of the Twins was expressed by Romulus and Remus, founders and guardians of Rome; the immortal and mortal sons of Zeus in Greek mythology; and who along with Hercules were of the crew of the Argo.

The foot of Castor marks the anti-galactic equatorial node (anti-GEN), at 5°sidereal Gemini, of the fixed axis of the Holy Cross, which defines this point in sidereal Gemini as the "Gate of Man." Its opposite point at ~5° Sagittarius is the "Gate of God,"--the prime fiducial of the Holy Cross.

Friend and colleague KHM9 Andrés Takra on sidereal Gemini, quoting: The Solunar's Handbook by Cyril Fagan, states: " 'The Ruler of Gemini is Mercury, the winged messenger of the gods, and his statues represent him as a naked boy wearing the winged traveler's hat and winged sandals.... He was the god of roads, traveling and travelers, and their protector. Being the god of shrewdness and sagacity, he was the author of numerous inventions such as the alphabet, speech, eloquence, numbers, mathematics, astronomy, astrology, weights, measures, schooling, education, music, and lyre and syrinx. Being the least religious of the gods and void of moral principles, he was also the god of thieves, fraud, perjury, cunning, exchange, barter, and of commerce in general.... Gemini was par excellence the constellation of gaiety and the delight of boyhood and youth. It produces those who enchant everybody with their conversational ability, wit, music and song, and their ability in mathematics, astronomy and astrology.' " Takra continues: "Geminians are always busy, always moving, doing a million things at the same time! Ubiquity is a Geminian trait. They are the intellectuals of the zodiac and the creators in the arts and sciences (whereas Sagittarians, opposite them, are the patrons of the arts). Geminians are young at heart, nervous and polyvalent (whereas Sagittarians are mature, imposing, sanguine, and intuitive). The House (of Gemini / 9th) is the realm of education, schools, universities, higher thoughts, ideas, writings, publications, communications, publicity, teachers, teachings, guides, travels, moves, long and short journeys, and cool windy areas. …where insight and perception are codified into a coherent and communicable form for the masses."

Here in this lunar cycle lies inspiration for expressing, communicating, or teaching new exciting unorthodox ideas, concepts, and knowledge; for co-creating new plans and approaches to accomplish our intents and purposes. South of the ecliptic lies Columba the Dove and a blazing deep space object called the Machine, both of which lie over Argo Navis--the galactic ship embodying the essence of the evolutionary sojourn of the soul. The Dove is of divine dispensation and revelation, and Takra adds: "the Dove is a symbol of the future, of what is to come."

North lies quasar 3C147.1 in Auriga, the charioteer, inspiring new, exciting, and unexpected but mutually supportive communication, relationships, and partnerships. Quasars (Quasi-Stellar-Radio-Source) were once thought to be the signatures of distant galactic clusters or enormous luminous galaxies at the edge of the known universe but are now recognized as "laser type stars" nesting within our own galaxy. Quasars are not only visible objects, but emit a wide band of electromagnetic spectra, from the infrared up through the visible, the UV, the gamma, and into the radio range of the electromagnetic spectrum. Their multi-spectral emanations tend to express an awareness extending beyond or embracing our current perceptual understanding, thereby offering new non-conforming possibilities of conceptual thought. Their strong and broad emanations tend to draw us into an inward perceptual exploration, which then motivates unexpected behavior fitting to our new awareness.

Communication for Solution on the Solstice

The solstice occurs on June 21, 00:57 GMT / June 20, 5:57 PM MST. Mercury then conjoins the asteroid Pallas as the Moon conjoins Ceres on the Crescent Moon of June 21, offering opportunity to relinquish old patterns of communication, or lack of it, that may have lead to spiteful or righteous stalemates and standoffs so we may be open to new and creative communication that creates movement and leads to solution--to that which is truly nourishing

Stimulus to Create Order

Our First Quarter Moon of June 25, lies in sidereal Virgo and conjoins Beta of Coma Berenices and Zaniah of Virgo--suggesting our actions to be based from "right use of will," which emanates only by living the truth of our souls (from the messages expressing through the heart).

Our First Quarter Moon also separates in square from the Sun, Pallas, Mercury, Saturn, and newly discovered Varuna (all conjoined in sidereal Gemini). The stimulus here is action to establish a path of order in our daily affairs through responsible communication. Saturn lies in later sidereal Gemini and under the auspices of Sirius, the Great World Teacher, and Canopus the lucida of the Argo. Ramifications of actions is the theme here--hence the need for right use of will, to communicate and live from our heart's truth.

Self Mastery of the Open Heart

Our Gibbous Moon of June 28 lies on the cusp of sidereal Libra / Scorpio but the constellation of Scorpio and conjoining the star Unukalhai, the neck of the serpent held in the hand of Ophiuchus, master over the forces of life and death. Unukalhai inspires us to claim our own self-empowerment, to live the truth of our souls, to be responsible for our own entrapments and the way beyond them; and to surrender anything inferior to living from a place of personal power--the responsible application of the knowledge we hold. Here lies our Gibbous theme, to interrelate and co-participate from this place of personal integrity and power.

Venus completes its retrograde on June 29, immediately after the Gibbous Moon, which formally commences the very significant 584-day Venus theme presented in last month's Lunar Planner text.

From the Last LP:

"Although Venus and the Sun reside at ~23° sidereal Taurus (from Earth's view), the synodic cycle theme is defined by the star alignments looking from the Sun toward Venus and Earth. In the backdrop, also conjoining Venus and Earth is Pluto, and all, from the sun's perspective, reside in the sidereal sign of Scorpio and in the constellation of Ophiuchus. It is here where we find the theme of this specific Venus-Earth synodic cycle.

First of all, let not Pluto's presence make this seem ominous, on the contrary, Venus and Pluto's resonances work quite well together--creating a "wide open heart." There is a demand however. Pluto is an opener that will destruct that which is not in its highest expression to make room for a greater truth to ensue, we can say, ensuring the integrity of soul's purpose (our hearts' intent) to prevail. Thus, we have this Pluto-Venus synthesis of energy destructing involvements of the heart that are not an expression of our hearts' real truth, that do not make our hearts sing, that do not exalt the feminine principle in our lives--the principles that our Roman Venus / Greek Aphrodite exemplifies."

Greater Realizations - Steering Intent

Our July 2 Full Moon lies in the midst of sidereal Sag (the festive full Moon eve occurs on July 1). Here again we find star alignments that embody the principle of demonstrably living Truth. The Full Moon lies under the auspices of Alpha and Beta Scutum, Nunki of Sagittarius, and the x-ray emitting star, AM Hercules.

Scutum is "The Galactic Shield of the Holy Cross" and lies just north of the Zen Archer along the galactic equator and north of the Galactic Equatorial Node (GEN), the "Gate of God." The Galactic Shield is emblazoned with the symbol of the Holy Cross (the cross within the circle). Scutum is "Defender of the Holy Cross"--of the greater evolutionary Truth--and fulfillment of the evolutionary precessional cycle--what the Zen Archer undauntingly lives, stands and unquestionably is willing to die for--the evolutionary fulfillment of the soul.

Nunki, Sigma Sag, is star of the "Proclamation of the Sea." Sagittarius resides where the galactic plane or river (Milky Way) flows into the incarnate plane of the soul (the ecliptic). The galactic plane provides the greater nourishing context for the incarnating soul--the field of unified creative substance from which our world is manifest. Nunki inspires us to function from the underlying power of the galactic ocean of divine love; in the flowing waters of Source. Nunki "on the vane of the arrow at the Archer's hand" provides a guiding and stabilizing force used to ensure the Zen Archer hits his target--to invoke and access the power and confidence of divine love that enables our intent of purpose to undauntingly manifest in the material world. Nunki teaches us to steer our intent with love, as it is the intended focus of love that manifests our heart's truth from the unified field of creative intelligence. Nunki requires we trust in this power and demonstrate our ability to direct it. AM Hercules provides the ability to focus intent--to steer the cosmic currents of life.

The Need to Change

Our Last Quarter Moon of July 9 lies in late sidereal Pisces and conjoins the irregular galaxy IC 1613 in Cetus, the fear instilling technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness, and the Second Node of the Dragon (Delta Draco). Both of these stellar entries conjoin Alpheratz (the theme of Andromeda), the head of the entrapped princess. Here we are asked to become attentive to the fact that our intent of purpose can be diverted and dispersed by psycho-emotional forces that congest us when toxic physical conditions exist. Our psycho-emotional fog can then perpetuate confused life scenarios, antiquated involvements or entrapments that are no longer in our highest interest.

The Last Quarter Moon also creates a "T-square" with Varuna, Pallas, Saturn and the Sun (all conjoined with Sirius and Canopus in sidereal Gemini, and with Juno, retrograde in sidereal Sag conjoined Vega of Lyra.

From the asteroids web page:

Varuna expresses physical power in battle and pro-creative vigor as he upholds cosmic law and a path of order. Varuna's appearance (conjoining Alhena of the Twins in 2000 AD) marked the time to reestablish order out of the chaos on Earth. Alhena is of commencement and indicates a turning point has been reached, a separating of the ways is at hand, that it is time to get off the fence of indecision and take action, to go forth, to act on our greater heart's truth and purpose.

Our Last Quarter Moon invokes the need to change the courses we are on to align with our true heart's intent. And this T-square invokes the need to change our way of relating or to change our relationships, to establish order and balance in our relationships (Juno). It stimulates the need to take responsibility (Saturn) for our experience rather than justifying disorder and imbalance from a place of denial or victim conscious (Pallas) as an excuse to avoid change. Varuna, Pallas, Saturn and the Sun demands we right that which is not right and use our creative intelligence to do so or deal with the ramifications of denial. Creating order in our relations will then open a multiplicity of opportunity for fulfillment in our relations (Juno-Vega)--in our personal relationships as well as in relations between countries and their leaders. Creating order begins from expressing a clear and focused heart (to demonstrably live the truths in our hearts from a place of love), In this order, all else unfolds in its natural perfection. When we each live in this order, we will then have a New World Order of the Heart,

Poisoned Hearts

Mercury and Mars conjoin on July 10 in sidereal Cancer over the stars of Hydra's head, a multifarious source of undermining, and under the auspices of Gianfar of Draco, "the poison place," inspiring assertive communication to clear the air rather than perpetuate paths that manifest from a poisoned (bitter) heart. Gianfar, on the tail of the Dragon, is of neurological currents, specifically those emanating from "poisons of the heart" that manifest cellular patterns within ourselves that relentlessly destroy all we touch through endless battering of our courage, optimism, and strength--destroying through sheer exhaustion. Here we are asked to realize how unresolved issues of the heart perpetually avert us from the fulfillment we seek.

To overcome the poison place we must mobilize our greater spiritual truths and principles by physically integrating them through demonstrable action. It is only experientially-gained wisdom from living heart, not mere mental understanding, that creates the transmuting power to address such poisonous conditions and to eradicate the resultant cancerous growths within self--otherwise a mere combative approach simply antagonizes the onslaught. This Cancerian centre can also be indicative of excessive lymphatic and circulatory congestion and toxicity, indicating a requirement for physical fitness, movement, and purification of our lymph--the living water of life.

Focus to the Future

The Balsamic Moon of July 13 approaches Venus (now direct) in sidereal Taurus inspiring us to reflect upon the changes of heart we have recently had and to turn toward the future with the confidence of a new heart's strength.

The Balsamic Moon is the time when we coalesce the experience of this lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the next lunar cycle to come. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. Our next New Moon occurs on July 17 in early sidereal Cancer. More to come then.
