July 17, 2004 New Moon
Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.
The Crossing
This Lunar Cycle begins on the cusp of sidereal Gemini-Cancer and primarily conjoins Procyon of Canis Minor and also Pollux of Gemini.
Procyon is the Babylonian "Kakkab Paldara," which means "Star of the Crossing." It is one of the five stars creating the "Egyptian X" with Betelgeuse of Orion, Naos of the Argo, Phaet of Columba the Dove, and with the center star Sirius--the Great World Teacher. In classic astrology, Procyon portends wealth, renown, and good fortune. Conjoining Pollux of Gemini (the ambassador), Procyon supports allegiance to a greater cause, purpose, or faction. Procyon inspires us to ally with each other or with a group to achieve a greater purpose than we could achieve alone. The desert Arabs knew Sirius and Procyon as "Al Ahawat al Suhail"--the (radiant, glorious, and beautiful) sisters of Canopus: thus recognizing all three to be associated with the fulfillment of souls' greater evolutionary purpose. Pollux, touched upon in the last lunar cycle is ambassador, the orator, link, and liaison.
This lunar cycle inspires co-participation and partnering so we may manifest the fulfillment of our greater truths and purposes on Earth. It inspires us to apply our amalgamated energies in allegiance to a greater purpose, path, or project that supports our mutual fulfillment--a fitting theme to follow the last lunar cycle's theme of communication and exchange to establish order in our lives." We are now inspired to walk through the portals that will lead to the realization of what we had been intellectualizing and communicating about in last lunar cycle.
Adding to our New Moon theme are the qualities of Alsciaukat, the thorn in the Lynx; the Irregular Galaxy M82 of Ursa Major; Alpha Monoceris, the Unicorn; and Aludra of Canis Major.
Alsciaukat brings the proverbial thorn in our side, which actually is a blessing that brings us into an ever-present alertness so we be attentive to and engage in the unique and unexpected portals of opportunity presenting themselves at any given moment.
Irregular galaxies like M82 tend to express as some type of abnormality, distortion, or uncommon trait regarding the conjoining stellar themes--hence the unexpected nature of the thorn and also of the unexpected portals presenting themselves. Also expressing as a black hole, M82 requires we release any prejudices and limiting perspectives about the differences and oddities found in the multiplicity of our individuality. It requires we pull forth the totality of our own oddity from our true soul essence into our incarnational expression to allow the gift of this uniqueness to manifest. In typical black hole fashion this is an all or nothing deal, there is either total acceptance or total rejection of the unique situation that is occurring, no in-betweens. M82 of the Great Bear also provides opportunity for the uniqueness of our individuality to have a role or place in the world, but self-acceptance must be realized and the unique opportunities presenting themselves (Alpha Monoceris) seized.
Alpha Monoceris, the Unicorn, is of a species not common to earth--one magikal and mystical. Alpha Monoceris brings fortuitous situations or involvements quite out of the ordinary. Accepting and honoring our special or odd uniqueness is a must. The spiral of the Unicorn's horn creates magic, but for it to manifest we must be in the power of our unique essence or nature, not afraid of it. We must draw forth the totality of it and relate beyond seeking commonalty, without need to fit in with the masses or to the norm, from principles that embrace and express our individuality and uniqueness.
Aludra, Wezen, and Adhara lie under latter sidereal Gemini and early Cancer, and create the hindquarter of the Canis Major. Although of this Sirian constellation, Aludra and Wezen are a pair of their own class. They lie much further in distance than the other stars thus being of their own realm. Aludra served Hipparchus to make his famous astronomical reckoning. Aludra is also the only one of the constellation that lies across the Gemini-Cancer cusp. Aludra is the singular of Al Adhara, the Virgins--hence, a pure one of the breed. This is the white stallion, the black sheep, the unique person who does not fit in. Aludra most often time manifests a person who appears through unexpected space-time portals, with the magik provided by Alsciaukat and Alpha Monoceris. The Aludra individual seems strikingly unique in some way--out of the ordinary.
At this zodiakal longitude we find the ideal ambassador between countries, races, species, and worlds--the morph. We also find opportunities to amalgamate our uniqueness in ways that can dissolve the barriers in front of us and that serve our mutual wellbeing or purpose. We must, however, relinquish any preconceived ideas or beliefs that would limit the expression and fulfillment of the uniqueness of our souls.
Expanding on the Theme
The Crescent Moon of July 21 beautifully conjoins Jupiter in the midst of sidereal Leo (visible in the western sky just after sunset) inspiring the relinquishment of previous bounds and limitations, and the mobilization and expansion upon our greater heart's truth. Movement is at hand.
Stimulus to Action
Our First Quarter Moon of July 24, bringing our external stimulus to shift into the action quarter of the lunar cycle, lies under the skirt of the Virgin (in early sidereal Libra), conjoining Miaplacidus, the Beta Star of Argo Navis.
Miaplacidus, Beta Carina of Argo Navis is the second most important star of the Argo--the first being Canopus, Alpha Carina (the helmsman). Miaplacidus embodies the artscience of "astronomical Earthgrid spacetime mapping." "Mia" is of greater universal flowing waters of Source; and "Placidus" is of grid-navigational-mapping. Miaplacidus creates a significant part of the theme of Carina, the keel of the Argo, directed by Canopus. Miaplacidus inspires the navigational mapping of our lives, of our evolutionary process and its fulfillment--of identifying the proper environmental places and right times for the harmonious unfoldment of our pursuits.
Simply, our stimulus to action may inspire pilgrimage or migration to new positions or environments that serve us in the fulfillment of this lunar cycle's theme, that serve us to make our crossings.
Focus, Dedication and Commitment
Vesta, asteroid of focus, dedication, and commitment begins its retrograde on July 27 in the emotional waters of sidereal Pisces. This begins the completion of the previous Vesta synodic cycle and beginning of a few month transition period where we will shift the nature of our focus and commitment. The next Vesta synodic cycle will begin in mid September under auspices of the Aquarian Waterman and his expanded Uranian Love. To learn more of Vesta, please visit the asteroids web page.
Attraction and Involvement
A very sexy Gibbous Moon conjoining Pluto is sidereal Scorpio opposite Venus and square Jupiter occurs on July 28 as we enter the "pollinating phase" of the lunar cycle, the few day period leading up to the Full Moon--a time of social attraction and communication. Here, magnetic attraction creates movement from anything that limits the fulfillment of our greater heart's (soul) truth and into that which truly supports it.
A Moon Wobble
The Sun (in the midst of sidereal Cancer conjoining the beehive, squares the lunar nodes on July 29 making for a bit of emotional instability, but which may also lead to actions we might not otherwise engage in that support our emergence from the past and movement toward the new.
An Issue of Trust
Full Moon occurs on July 31 (Full Moon eve on July 30) in the overlap of the Capricorn and Aquarius constellations on the Heptanomis Hyperborean Cusp. What the heck is that you might wonder. It is the polar location early on in Earth 25,000-year precessional cycle that marks the start of the second of seven heavens, the second day of creation, that is, the second epoch in our current precessional cycle. In the precessionally governed evolutionary cycle of the soul, this is where Earth's pole tilts at the perfect angle of incidence away from the plane of galactic light such that the Light of Source begins to refract, disperse, and fragment into rainbow colored rays. (Hyper means to move away from, while Borean is from Borealis which means the magnetically charged most northern galactic point in Earth's precessional cycle).
This ecliptical location creates a divine divisioning guided by Source into new and unique paths of expression, a divisioning into soul complements. The second Hyperborean epoch is overseen by Delphinus, the Dolphin star system. The Dolphins are angelic guides for the soul. The Dolphins articulate the purity and innocence of this pristine expression / divisioning of divine love. And, as any old salt would know, the Dolphins are guides for the soul, to be trusted in times of doubt, leading the wayward safely onward.
Back on the Earth plane--the issue of TRUST arises at this location in sidereal Capricorn. Here is the need to participate by trusting in the paths of our souls, in the spirit force guiding us rather than participate from decisions made from our limited egoic selves that think they know better but that only see the deceiving physical facades we ware upon the incarnate stage of life.
Also conjoining our Full Moon is Pulsar JP 1953, which lies north in the heavens, along the galactic equator and on the border of Vulpecula and Cygnus. This pulsar brings the message that it is time to let go and move on, a time of divergence and expansion; and from exclusive-focused separating Capricornian love to inclusive open Aquarian Uranian love.
Manifestation and Demonstration
Conjoining retrograde Vesta, our Disseminating Moon of Aug 3 emphasizes the redefinition of our focus and commitment. The Moon and Vesta lie in the first few degrees of sidereal Pisces conjoining Matar, eta Pegaus and Scheat of the Great Square of Pegasus. Matar, on the left forearm, from Al Sa'd al Matar, the Fortunate Rain, brings a release from psychic-emotional tension so we may go forth and live the (Full Moon) realizations we have had. Scheat marks the essence of our primoridal origins--water (the current location of the vernal point creating the erect Holy Cross. Scheat (at 5° sidereal Pisces) embodies the essence of sidereal Pisces, and brings attention to the waters of life and to the purity of our body fluids, especially the "lymph," which means Flowing Spirit of the Living Water of Life. Scheat pertains to all waters of the world, but also to body fluids, especially water's relationship to the purification of the physical vehicle and the body's requirement for refined life force energies to express through the fluids molecular matrix. Scheat also brings attention to our blood, semen, and saliva, as well as to the types of fluids that we bring into our bodies. The purity and movement of the lymph and blood is not only essential for the elimination of toxins, but is also required for the expression of subtle light energies of cosmic intelligence (our soul's essence) through our genetic coding. The more light we express the truer we express the vibrancy of our souls and the more life giving spirit substance we embody. This is why peoples throughout history have sought Living Water--healing springs flowing endlessly from the ground of their own accord, water said to bring immortality--the word immortality here meaning "not being subject to premature degeneration and death." Alignments with Scheat also bring attention to what we are doing with our primordial life force, with our Chi.
Our Vesta Moon conjunction reveals the need for our bio-logical health and purity to be clear in focus, dedication, and commitment--to live and manifest the truth of our souls, lest we get knocked down and thrashed around by our inability to be physically and emotionally clear.
Tick-Tock the Pendulum Clock
Our Last Quarter Moon of Aug 7, bringing our inner need to initiate change, conjoins Alpha Horologium which embodies the theme of "impending time." Here there is a relentless and underlying sense that there is a finite period with time ticking away, and that more than is humanly possible must be done with need to go back before going forward. Seemingly, a miracle is required.
Also conjoining is The Little Dumbbell Nebula , which colors things in two ways: Inattentive or stupid moves will only entrap us more than we already are. Radical movement only exhausts us further and tightens the chain of human bondage. Patience and gentleness are required to escape from danger, but also an inner strength to make the change at hand.
Mercury Retrograde
Mercury begins its retrograde on Aug 10 (Aug 9 MST) in the midst of sidereal Leo. Mercury will begin its new 116-day synodic cycle on Aug 23 in the following lunar cycle conjoining Regulus, the Heart of the Lion. We will explore Mercury's new synodic cycle theme then. Mercury will return direct on Sept 2.
Focus to the Future
The Balsamic Moon of Aug 12 (Aug 11 MST) conjoins Venus (now direct) in sidereal Gemini bring us back to Heart. Venus and Luna conjoin the foot of Castor (Tejat and Dirah) and the bright refection nebula IC 444. Tejat & IC 444 portend eminence and renown, and they will make that which they align with stand out in a unique fashion. Tejat will make visible that which has been suppressed, oppressed, hidden, in the closet, but destined to be seen--in this case Heart.
The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the next lunar cycle to come. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come--hence, not only returning our focus to living heart, but also, an underlying pattern infused into the seed which will birth in the following cycle is to make our Heart's truth visible. Venus and the Balsamic Moon can be seen in the eastern sky just before sunrise.
Our next New Moon occurs on Aug 16 (Aug 15 MST) in late sidereal Cancer but under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. More to come then.
