Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

The New Moon

This Lunar Cycle begins on the cusp of sidereal Cancer-Leo, which lies under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. This location in the sidereal zodiak embodies the theme of "discovery."

The themes of three primary stars compose this month's lunar theme: Alpha Pictoris of the Painter's Easel, which lies just south of Columba the Dove; Subra, the paw of the Lion; and Alpha Pyxidis the compass of Argo Navis.

Subra, marking the end of sidereal Cancer, is the paw of the Lion impressed in the desert sand. Subra is of prints, tracks, plans, codices and ancient maps--clues to hidden trails and paths obscured by the sands of time. Subra indicates a discovery process is at hand, one leading to the secret chambers, entryways, even to liftoff sites of the gods--places hidden from ordinary view. Simply, Subra asks that we dig, uncover, and find the way to navigate the passage of our Heart’s true desire.

Argo Navis, the ship in the mythical story of Jason and the Argonauts, sails in the southern heavens along the Galactic Equator. Stars of the Argo are of our greater galactic purpose and soul mission--of seeking our evolutionary fulfillment, of fulfilling our soul purpose on Earth. Pyxidis, a sub-constellation of the Argo, is the Crow's Nest (or compass) of the galactic ship. Alpha Pyxidis enters the ecliptic just into sidereal Leo, conjoining Subra, the paw of the Lion, and Alpha Pictoris.

The stellar qualities of Alpha Pyxidis ask us to peer beyond what is visible, beyond the common world, and to navigate through potential problems or obstacles upon our exploration. Pyxidis inspires us to find the map obscured in the sand, to see the picture waiting to emerge from the obscuring fog into visible sight, and to take an abode, place, vantage, or perspective from which we can see and find distant lands.

Pyxidis indicates a discovery process is at had, one that requires patience, foresight, and perceptual attentiveness. Although this often is a lonely process, it is one serving our greater evolutionary journey, and as well, the journeys of our colleagues and companions. Pyxidis has little interest in the superfluous pursuits of the common world, always seeking new ground, looking forward, gazing ahead through time, to see through the present limitations into the depths of what can yet become.

Pyxidis asks us to be a master observer. Present with our attention, insatiably on the lookout, we must be forever attentive to our greater journey, plotting the course, seeking the path to realize the dream of our highest potential destiny.

Synthesizing with the theme of Subra and Alpha Pyxidis is the primary star of the very southern constellation Pictoris, the Painter's Easel. Alpha Pictoris indicates a picture or scenario is emerging from the æthers. This is a picture assembling itself as we break trail in our discovery process. Alpha Pictoris asks us to see the pathway or entryway emerging out of the mist covering an abyss, in the rock of a mountain side, in the billowing clouds blown by the wind, in the leaves fallen upon the ground, or simply in our mind's inner eye. Alpha Pictoris asks us to creatively assemble the signs, to read the message, to see the coalescing spirit substance yet to become, to paint a new picture, a new life.

Also conjoining Subra and friends is the Owl Nebula M97, which lies north in heavens in Ursa Major. The Owl Nebula is one of the largest planetary nebulas. It has a faint central star and two dark recessed regions that give the nebula its name. Nebulas in general create a type of facade or fog that colors the zodiakal theme. The Owl Nebula suggest we use wisdom and night vision to see that which is obscured by the dogmatic veils that we uphold with our existing belief structures, or those created by prominent ego-based individuals and world powers. Here lies the need to see through the existing picture of our reality, and to use creative (third-eye) vision to allow alternative realms and possibilities to emerge into our awareness. Only then can we step into the apparent abyss where a hidden bridge awaits--to step out upon the Path of de Lion.

Our New Moon also conjoins the discovery location of 2004DW, a Kuiper Belt asteroid. 2004DW was discovered in February 2004 making the its force consciously available for humanity to embrace and work with. Stellar alignments at the time of its discovery indicate 2004DW's theme is of exploration, of uncovering a blueprint that leads to a new picture, a new reality, to emerge from living under belief structures and convenience of our collective consensus, and to break trail into new realms of consciousness that lead us to a new law of physics, of life--to live under a new law in integrity to Heart. Stimulus to Action

Our First Quarter Moon of Aug 23, lies in early sidereal Scorpio, tucked deep within the claws of the Scorpion, just in front of its head. Over the Scorpion's head stands the right foot of Ophiuchus, exemplar who lives in mastery over the forces of life and death. North lies Yed of Ophiuchus, the hand of death, and yet further north, Kornephoros, the shoulder of Hercules proving the strength and endurance to claim the freedom we seek. South lies the Centaur, teaching how to claim one's mastery using the creative forces in the world. Further south is the Chameleon. Here at this zodiakal longitude we must take responsibility to let something die to live our greater truth in empowerment, to make the metamorphosis we seek. Here lies a choice, to live the path of personal convenience or to walk the path of the soul, of a higher inner truth.

The Intuitive Mind

As we step into action quarter of the lunar cycle we also begin a new cycle regarding the logistics in our lives--of all that is Mercurial. Immediately following the First Quarter Moon, retrograde Mercury conjoins the Sun, marking the start of Mercury's new 116-day synodic cycle. The theme of Mercury's new cycle is found by looking from the sun's (sidereal heliocentric) perspective toward Mercury and Earth. From the sun's view, we see Mercury and Earth at 6° sidereal Aquarius, and primarily conjoining Enif of Pegasus, the nose of the magical flying horse. Enif brings intuitiveness and sensitivity to the humanitarian / Aquarian pursuit. Enif is characteristic of altruistic people, those with the intuitive awareness to recognize what is of essence, of value, and worthy of humanitarian support. It is of those who are capable of providing material and / or financial support and who have the sensitivity to do so. A fortuitous star, Enif asks us to follow our intuition to do what is truly supportive to our greater well being.

Conjoining Enif is Pulsar PSR 2217+47 of Cygnus. Pulsars are "beacons for the soul." Pulsars are neutron (collapsed) stars that emit electrically neutral, subatomic particles at consistently dependable pulsating intervals. They are one of the means through which "Evolutionary Intelligence" communicates through the heavenly hierarchy of consciousness of which we belong. Pulsars are usually found along the galactic equatorial plane and thus provide an ever-present guiding message associated with our greater evolutionary purpose as sentient souls incarnating on Earth. A pulsar's messages is received in our sub-atomic coding that transcends the gross level of language and human diversity. This guidance expresses as a continuous and dependable subtle current articulating through the zodiakal character created by the conjoining stars. Pulsars guide us in our spiritual growth and evolutionary fulfillment. They require we listen to and patiently follow the subtle soul-level impulses guiding us in our daily lives--this is about trusting the impulses of Spirit.

This specific pulsar, PSR 2217+47, has a period of 0.5384673780 seconds which translates to a fundamental frequency of 1.8571227445 Hz., the alpha brain wave frequency of 7.428490978 Hz., the audio frequency of 237.711711296 Hz., and the light wavelength of 5733.8 Ångstroms (which is a yellow-lemon color). This creates a cross-resonance with Earth’s "Circumference Harmonic" (See Planetary Haromincs)--thus interacting directly with the emotional and psychic weather of human collective consciousness and daily global affairs. Sedgewick appropriately points out on this one that we must make a definitive choice for "completion of deliberation." In essence, a purging of mind is required to move from "diversity (fragmented) consciousness," which is driven by the mindsets of collective human consciousness, to the wholeness of "essence consciousness," to participate from our individual soul-level / God-essence truth. and to shift from the concept of personal family to extended soul family (or global family).

All that to simply say our new Mercury cycle is about relinquishing the fragmented mode of perpetual mental deliberation about what we think we need and to trust and follow the impulses of spirit to receive what we really need.

From Earth's view, our Mercury-Sun conjunction resides at the Heart of the Lion--Regulus of Leo, supporting us to act upon the truth in our Hearts. Because Mercury is emblazoned with sun's rays (some say "combust"), fears regarding living heart's truth prominently arise on our first quarter action moon.

Regulus is "Chief or King of the Four Royal Stars," governing Fomalhaut, Aldebaran, and Antares. Throughout antiquity Regulus was associated with royalty and kings. Its name is given as "the Regulus" or "the Rex," meaning the "Law Giver." Regulus is the only one of the four stars prominently aspecting the Holy Cross. Regulus is the administrative seat insuring that we maintain integrity to "Universal Directives of Source"--to the precessional forces directing the evolutionary fulfillment of our souls.

On the personal level, Regulus is about living in integrity to self--thus ensuring we do not wander away from the truth upheld by and found only in the Heart. Thus, our personal integrity, our inner vertical attunement must precede any horizontal, humanitarian participation in the world (Leo’s opposite Aquarian pole). Without this inner integrity we become self-sacrificing, entrapped in a sympathetic resonance, giving self away at the cost of one's heart truth. This perpetuates discord and dysfunction for self and for other's because we perpetuate living a lie. Only by living our individual truths do we provide opportunity for other's to live theirs.

Mercury will return direct on Sept 2 (just after the upcoming Full Moon), at which time we move forth with this new Mercurial theme.

Bridge of Light for Relationships, Selon the Angels

Our sexy Gibbous Moon of Aug 26 joins Chiron in late sidereal Sag under the auspices of the Lyre--Harp of the Angels. Specifically they conjoin Sheliak, the strings of the lyre, the Starseed Ring Nebula M57, and the neutron star SS433 of Aquila the Eagle. Artistically sculpted multidimensional messages of light, sound, and geometry create bridges in our lives heretofore unavailable.

Near by is Juno, asteroid of covenant relationships, which now lies north of the ecliptic over Sagittarius, on the galactic equator in Scutum, the galactic shield of the Holy Cross. Juno and Chiron have been in synchronous retrograde cycles and both began new (synodic) cycles of expression in our lives back in July--providing the opportunity for new neurological bridges of light to manifest in relationships. These bridges (established in sidereal Sag and under the auspices of Lyra) are of a spiritual vibration that make possible and inspire a high-vibrational level of communion--that is, a multiplicity of artistic opportunity for fulfilment. Juno's new cycle is sanctioned by Vega of Lyra, stargate to mansion universes of light where a multiplicity of opportunity awaits.
Juno will complete its retrograde just after this Full Moon (when Mercury completes its retrograde) allowing relationships to move across the new bridges, through new multi-spectral portals of light, and into new levels of expression and fulfilment.

Radical Enthusiastic Revelation

On August 27, in the excitement of this lunar cycle's pollinating phase, we begin a new Uranus 370-day synodic cycle in the midst of sidereal Aquarius. Our Aquarian Full Moon conjoins retrograde Uranus on Aug 29/30 as well. The Full Moon occurs during the stations of Pluto, Juno, and Mercury, all of which are about to complete their retrograde periods and return direct--creating a wide open Full Moon revelation.

Conjoining stars defining our new Uranian synodic theme--and our Full Moon--are some of the most fortuitous in the heavens: Sadalmelik of Aquarius; Fomalhaut of the southern fish; Deneb, Alpha Cygnus; and Sadachbia of. (These lie quite near and synthesize with the theme of Enif of Pegasus as well--which embodies the theme of our new Mercurial cycle.) This Full Moon / Uranus placement marks the epitome of Uranus's return into it's home and empowering sign--Aquarius. The lightning like force of Uranus inspires us to break from the limits and conformity of the past, to spontaneously make radical change. Uranus is of refined neurological processes, of higher mind, new thought, and new discoveries, of new ways of life, and of expanded, inclusive, humanitarian-based love. The force of Uranus will express the essence of these stars over this next year:

Fomalhaut, one the "Four Royal Architects" is the administrative seat of the aquatic quadrant of the heavens. Fomalhaut embodies the essence of sidereal Aquarius--inspiring future vision for an evolved humanitarian-based society. Fomalhaut inspires new ideas and pursuits in the art-sciences and in social issues of the world. It is of the human populous and the flow within that populous that creates a wholesome human condition.

Sadalmelik Alpha Aquarius is the "lucky one of the kingdom." Sadalmelik creates an air of recognition and acceptance in the kingdom of human affairs--especially for those involved in the arts and sciences. Sadalmelik brings fortuitous opportunity for those with humanitarian interest, and who are in those arenas where such interest can be expressed.

In the northern heavens lies Deneb, the tail of the swan. Cygnus is also the "Messianic Needle of the Heavens" (dubbed by Andres Takra) and the top ((head) of the galactic cross, which lies upon the galactic equator. Deneb, is the first primary star that Earth's pole encounters in Earth's ~25,000-year precessional cycle, it thus is the messianic head of the precessional Cycle of the Holy Cross--embodying the God-Essence in the "Evolutionary Cycle of the Soul." Deneb asks us to stand in the awareness of our pure soul essence and inner truth, in our God-self wholeness and to participate from the maturity of our unadulterated androgynous pure soul essence, from beyond the separations and categorizations of race, sex, and creed. Deneb asks us to live the true and pure essence of our beings.

Sadachbia of Aquarius is the "lucky star of hidden things." Sadachbia indicates a physical gift of extreme value to be discovered, revealed, or claimed. Sadachbia specifically conjoins our Full Moon making for a very fortuitous Full Moon.

A New Journey

Our Last Quarter Moon creating our inner need to change occurs on Sept 6 in sidereal Taurus and conjoins Kursa of Eridanus, entry to the river of life, indicating a new beginning is at hand. Kursa also conjoins Rigel of Orion, inspiring enterprising entrepreneurialship.

Focus to the Future

The Balsamic Moon of Sept 10 conjoins Venus (as it did in the last lunar cycle) but now in sidereal Cancer bringing us back, once again, to Heart. Venus and Moon conjoin the fore-foot of the Great Bear, marked by Talitha, Iota and Kappa of Ursa Major, which I dub as protectress, guardian, and nurturer of humanity, this duo is the Chinese "High Dignitary." Although minor stars they should not be taken lightly as these stars lie in principal stellar orientation within the Bear. Of the Great Bear they are associated with the global scene and world powers. They inspire world powers to become a caring and nurturing force for the people, a force that responsibility supports our emergence from darkness, dogma, and delusion, and our reawakening to Light.

Also conjoining Talitha is a pulsar (APO 0823+26) in Cancer that inspires us to emerge from psycho-emotional issues common to collective consciousness. It inspires us to be independent and free thinkers rather than co-dependant followers of dogmatic belief structures that limit our ability to initiate creative action that supports the manifestation of a Greater Vision (embodied by Dubhe of Ursa Major) for our evolutionary fulfillment. A fitting place for our Venus-Balsamic Moon, and the completion of this cycle.

The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the next lunar cycle. The Balsamic Moon marks the time when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. Venus, Saturn, and the Balsamic Moon make a beautifull sight in the eastern sky just before sunrise.

Our next New Moon occurs on September 14 in late sidereal Leo while conjoining Mars and Ceres. More to come then
