May 8, 2005 New Moon
& Committed to Change
Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.
Focus, Dedication, & Commitment
Our May 8 New Moon lies in late sidereal Aries and conjoins Ruchbah, Delta Cassiopeia, the knee of Queen Cassiopeia, is a star of transformation--a process often occurring in a bit of initiatory fire. Ruchbah inspires transformation of our pride and arrogance. Something is rightfully ours, but any arrogant righteous attitudes that we deserve it, energetically keep away the very thing we want. Our righteous attitudes keep us naive to, and so entrapped in, diversionary lower-order psychic forces that trip us up, perpetuate repetitive scenarios, and that keep us from claiming our greater fulfillment. Ruchbah reveals that something within our selves must die in order to have that which is truly ours. Conjoining Quasar 3C66A in Andromeda can creates somewhat entrapping experiences that help us realize it is our inner righteous attitudes that are of issue and that must transform before we find our true freedom and happiness along the winding path of life.
Our Aries New Moon also conjoins the asteroid Vesta, igniting a key facet of this month's transformational theme. Vest lies a bit south of the ecliptic (and the Sun and Moon) and just past the reach of the entrapping jaws of Cetus, the fear-instilling technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness. This addition to our lunar theme requires we get clear, focused, dedicated, and committed to move forth through the transformative process at hand. To learn more about Vesta please visit: the asteroids#Vesta,
The asteroid Ceres lies directly opposite Vesta, the Sun, and Moon in sidereal Libra, conjoined and right next to Zubeneschamali, the north claw of the Scorpion.
The two primary stars of Libra, (Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali), in modern illustrations, form the balance or scales of Libra. They respectively lie at 20 degrees and 24 degrees sidereal Libra. Actually, these two stars are the "Chelae of the Scorpion." The chelae extend from the east, from the head of the Scorpion in the sidereal sign of Scorpio. Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali are the karmic and dharmic seats for humanity, the former about our past and the latter about our future path.
Ceres brings attention to what is and is not nourishing in our lives, to how we nurture and are nurtured. To learn more about Ceres, please visit the asteroids#Ceres. Ceres-Zubeneschamali brings attention to the fact that we must step forward into our future to find what is truly nourishing. This theme lies in opposition to the lunar theme of transformation, creating a perspective of contrast to see how we can move forward into our greater freedom and wellbeing.
Another facet of this month's lunar theme is provided by Neptune, which lies square to Sun-Moon-Vesta and to Ceres, thus creating a T-Square (or cross-bow). Neptune becomes a focal point of energy that must express. Neptune lies in late sidereal Capricorn, in an area of the zodiak where the constellations of Capricorn and Aquarius overlap, thus creating a blend of the two qualities. Here, the zodiakal quality inspires us to surrender our focus upon our mundane needs or our need to control or define how things should be, and to open to a transcendent guidance that leads to our greater fulfillment and that is inclusive of our soul-level relations and extended soul families.
North of the Capricorn-Aquarius overlap lies Delphinus, the Dolphin star system. Delphinus offers guidance if we are willing to trust in greater forces than our personal efforts can generate alone. The Dolphins, an expression of angelic dominion, are guides for when we do not see the way. They reveal the way to make safe passage to our destination, provided we listen to and trust in the serendipity of life.
Neptune, of dreams, visions, illusions, and ideals, is a dissolver into Universality. Neptune conjoins Sualocin, Alpha Delphinus, the primary essence of these heavenly angelic guides. To trust in the serendipity of life is merely to surrender our personal righteous reasoning mind that needs to define and control, and to allow our selves to move with the Divine Intelligence that permeates and fluidly guides our lives. Here is the art of getting out of our own way to allow a creative solution that leads us from the conforming bounds of limited mind. Here we are asked to let this shifting and swirling dissolving force work in its own way, the way dreams become real.
Expanding on the Theme
The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past, and emerges in its new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.
In sidereal Gemini, our Crescent Moon of May 11-12 conjoins Mirzam, Beta Canis Major, the "Scout of Sirius." Mirzam conjoins Alhena, the foot of Pollux, which marks the time to get off the fence of indecision. Mirzam provides a message to redirect our focus and daily efforts to prepare and become ready for a greater change to come.
Initiate Action
The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our external stimulus occurs on May 15 the day before First Quarter Moon. Mars conjoins Uranus in mid-sidereal Aquarius also on May 15, inspiring radical spontaneous expansive creative action to break from the conformity of the past. Our day to move into the action quarter of the cycle is May 16.
Our action Moon lies just across the cusp of sidereal Leo, at the head of the Lion. The Moon conjoins Alpha Pictoris, Subra of Leo, and Alpha Pyxidis.
Subra, marking the sidereal Cancer-Leo cusp, is the paw of the Lion impressed in the desert sand. Subra is of prints, tracks, plans, codices and ancient maps--clues to hidden trails and paths obscured by the sands of time. Subra indicates a discovery process is at hand, one leading to the secret chambers, entryways, even to liftoff sites of the gods--places hidden from ordinary view. Simply, Subra asks that we dig, uncover, and find the way to navigate the passage of our heart's true desire.
Pyxidis, a sub-constellation of the Argo, is the Crow's Nest (or compass) of the galactic ship. Alpha Pyxidis, just into sidereal Leo, conjoins Subra, the paw of the Lion, and Alpha Pictoris. The stellar qualities of Alpha Pyxidis ask us to peer far beyond the common world to navigate through potential problems or obstacles upon our exploration. Pyxidis inspires us to find the map obscured in the sand, to see the picture waiting to emerge from the obscuring fog into visible sight, and to take an abode, place, vantage, or perspective from which we can see and find distant lands. Pyxidis indicates a process, one that requires patience, foresight, and perceptual attentiveness. Although this often is a lonely process, it is one serving our greater evolutionary journey, and as well, the journeys of our colleagues and companions. Pyxidis has little interest in the superfluous pursuits of the common world, always seeking new ground, looking forward, gazing ahead through time, to see through the present limitations into the depths of what can yet become.
Synthesizing with the theme of Subra and Alpha Pyxidis is the primary star of the very southern constellation Pictoris, the Painter's Easel. Alpha Pictoris indicates a picture or scenario is emerging from the æthers. This is a picture assembling itself as we break trail in our discovery process. Alpha Pictoris asks us to see the pathway or entryway emerging out of the mist covering an abyss, in the rock of a mountain side, in the billowing clouds blown by the wind, in the leaves fallen upon the ground, or simply in our mind's inner eye. Alpha Pictoris asks us to creatively assemble the signs, to read the message, to see the coalescing spirit substance yet to become, to paint a new picture, a new life.
Attraction & Involvement
The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the pollinating phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.
Our Gibbous Moon occurs on May 20 in mid sidereal Virgo, conjoining Algorab of Corvus the Raven, the messenger bird. Algorab asks us to be attentive to the natural world around us moment-by-moment, as Divine Intelligence permeates and thus communicates through all of nature. The signs found in the simplest of life experience have meaning if we are willing to be attentive to them. In fact, we can even ask to receive guidance through prayer or simply by briefly holding the intent to receive such guidance and then let it go and let the world respond. It is the sincere projection of intent that vibrationally invokes a response from the world around us. All we need to do is pay attention. Conjoining Algorab is Quasar 3C279, which lies exactly on the ecliptic plane, along the spinal column of the Virgin, its spinal placement again articulating the natural mechanism of subtle energy communication. Quasar 3C279 can stimulate imagery in the natural world that act as messages through nature, which must be listened to and acted upon, as nature's images are the guidance itself.
Vision, Enthusiasm, & Realization
Our Scorpio Full Moon, creating the high-energy climax of the lunar cycle, occurs on May 23 (Full Moon eve is May 22). Our Full Moon conjoins Dschuba, the head of the Scorpion. Dschuba inspires us to graduate into the realization that our life experience is our responsibility and it is up to us to move forth from the entrapping scenarios we may find our selves and into the fulfillment we seek.
Manifestation & Demonstration
The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation leading into the birth point in the lunar cycle. Our Disseminating Moon of May 26-27 lies in late sidereal Sag, under the auspices of the Lyra, harp of the Angels--bringing us visionary ideals and spiritual inspiration. Just after the moon shift, Mercury and Vesta conjoin inspiring clear and focused communication and for us to live that focus in the logistical aspects of our lives.
Time for Change
May 29 provides our day of inner need, which inspires us to initiate change as we move into the last quarter of the lunar cycle. Our Last Quarter Moon of May 30 lies in mid-sidereal Aquarius, just in front of Uranus, and conjoins the urn of Aquarius, from where the nourishing waters begin to flow. Here lie the stars that create the means for the humanitarian waterman to nourish humanity. The principal stars are Skat, star of the foundation, and On the Urn, Zeta Aquarius. Both are of humanitarian philanthropic foundations, organizations, and business vessels through which material and financial support can flow for future oriented humanitarian focused projects and for the nourishment of all.
Focus to the Future
The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn from looking back over the past cycle and look toward the future cycle to come. The Balsamic Moon occurs on June 2 just after conjoining the asteroid Juno in early sidereal Aries. Juno is the asteroid of covenant partnerships and agreements, of mutual equality, compatibility, and respect, bringing attention to those who should be joined to co-co-create and co-participate in life, whether relations of a personal nature, buisness nature, or political nature. To learn more of Juno, please visit the asteroids#Juno.
Our next New Moon occurs on June 6 in late-sidereal Taurus conjoining the entrepreneurial and enterprising stars of Orion and Eridanus--more to come then.
