The Lunar Theme for the
June 6, 2005 New Moon

A New Life Chapter Begins
Enterprising Entrepreneurship &
Strategic Planning

The Lunar Month of
June 6, 2005 - July 6, 2005

Nick Anthony Fiorenza

Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

A New Theme Emerges

Our June 6 New Moon lies in late sidereal Taurus and conjoins Rigel of Orion and Kursa of Eridanus, the beginning of the River.

Rigel is of enterprising entrepreneurialship. Orions in general are known for their architectural capacity. Prominent alignments with Rigel bring the capacity to embody, direct, and execute large extravagant grandiose projects, bringing good through commerce and business affairs.

Kursa, synthesizing with Rigel's theme, is of new chapters in life, the start of new projects or involvements. Although it may be time to go forth anew, into a new phases of our lives, we must be aware of the tenacious perseverance required when staring new life journeys or new ventures, to move from the wars and trials of the past (latter Taurus) to the freedom of the future (early Gemini).

This lunar month is ideal for beginning new legs along our journeys in life, and it is especially ideal for establishing or commencing business ventures, new modalities of living, also those involving home and family matters.

Several hours later, the Moon conjoins Mercury, Bellatrix of Orion, and Capella of Auriga, expounding upon the theme of this lunar cycle. Mercury, of course, is of communication and logistics.

Bellatrix, Gamma Orion is the Female Amazon Warrior, the conqueror, star of the Amazon. Bellatrix holds excellent capacities in “strategic planning.” Bellatrix is lucky in administrative accomplishment--in civil, political, and military office. Bellatrix is especially favorable for women, and brings a loquacious quality. This star announces the rising of the more brilliant star Rigel, the left foot of Orion.

The northern Camel (Alpha and Beta conjoining Bellatrix) articulates the nature of this zodiakal band in Taurus well. The Camel spreads wealth around the world through commerce and business, is a resilient hard working intelligent beast of burden with the ability to go for days (without water) before becoming distressed, one suited for long and arduous journeys.

Also conjoining the north horn is Capella, Alpha Auriga. Capella is the messenger of light and the driver of the chariot. Capella, although said to have a stormy character, brings guidance from an un-biased spiritual perspective that breaks a stronghold, being removed (lying north of the galactic equator) from the dramatics of the political-religious factions fighting in the physical trenches of life. Capella and the stars of Auriga provide inspiration to mobilize what otherwise would be a rather sluggish process. Capella is actually a double-binary star system consisting of four stars: two yellow giants and two red dwarfs, with a 104.02-day eclipse period. Capella acts as a welcomed beacon that embraces the paradox of duality and side-taking. Conjoining Capella is Phaet, Alpha Columba, the Dove, offering divinely guided dispensation.

We can realize the "opportunity for growth" that the lunar cycle has to offer on the first eve that the sliver moon can be seen at sunset. Simply look at the moon and be receptive to a feeling-thought. It often is a simple word or phrase that comes to mind.

On the eve of June 8, Venus and the first sliver of the Moon can be seen in the western sky just before the sun has completely set. This is the first month after several that at we can seen Venus after sunset. We will continue to see Venus after sunset for after about seven lunar months, until Venus begins its next retrograde and disappears in the sun's glow for one lunar cycle. Venus will then become visible before sunrise in the eastern sky.

Expanding on the Theme

The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past, and emerges in its new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.

Our Crescent Moon of June 10 lies in mid sidereal Cancer--the Egyptian Scarabaeus. The Scarab / Cancer theme is about emergence out of the darkness, dogma, and delusion, out of the antiquated entrapments we had been living in, it is about our transmutation from darkness into light. It is about shedding old skins, skeletons, and cocoons. It is of new beginnings, migration, and finding and creating new homes.

The Crescent Moon lies under the auspices of the fore-foot of the Great Bear, marked by Talitha, Iota and Kappa of Ursa Major, which I dub as protectress, guardian, and nurturer of humanity, this duo is the Chinese "High Dignitary." Although minor stars, they should not be taken lightly, as they hold a principal office within the Bear. Of the Great Bear they are associated with the global scene and world powers. They inspire those with controlling power to become a caring and nurturing force for the people, an enabling force that responsibility supports our emergence from darkness, dogma, from the past, and into our greater fulfillment.

Also conjoining Talitha is a pulsar (APO 0823+26) in Cancer inspiring us to emerge from psycho-emotional issues common to collective consciousness and from our engrained limiting thought patterns. It inspires us to be independent and free thinkers rather than co-dependant followers of our dogmatic beliefs, those that limit our ability to initiate creative action that supports the manifestation of our greater wellbeing.

Initiate Action &
The Last Pluto Synodic Cycle in Sidedreal Scorpio

The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our external stimulus occurs during the 24 hour period before the June 14, 2005 First Quarter Moon.

During this time, opposite the sun, retrograde Pluto, the destroyer and opener, begins its new 357-day synodic cycle. The theme of this new year-long synodic cycle is defined by the stellar field that Pluto and Earth lie within when looking from the Sun. Pluto and Earth lie in Ophiuchus and conjoin Lesath, the sting of the Scorpion, which lies over the Ara in the last degree of sidereal Scorpio.

Ara is the Altar of the Centaur. On the low altar, the Centaur places Lupus the Beast (our lower-order personality-based patterns of self-importance, and associated emotional baggage) with conscious deliberation to be consumed in the Centaur's transmutational pyre. Venom from Lesath, the sting of the Scorpion--the often harsh but required lessons incurred while incarnate--dripping on the altar serves as the required transmutational elixir. Over the high altar lies Galactic Centre where reinstatement into our souls' destined fulfillment occurs. The sting (marking the end of Scorpio) precedes movement across the cusp of Scorpio into Sag where Galactic Center resides.

Here we have powerful forces governing life and death situations challenging us into action. We must, however, embrace the sting of these experiences as the transmutational elixir required for us to transform and to step forth through the doorways Pluto creates, into new octaves of participation, into new phases of our lives.

Pluto ensures soul-level integrity prevails: Pluto will destruct personality alliances and personality driven motivations to ensure soul's intended growth is attained, even at the cost of the personality life. This implies a need for letting go. The nature of the alliances destructed is a function of the location of Pluto in the astrological chart. Pluto is independent, individual, autonomous, the revolutionist, and the extremist. Pluto is of isolation and aloneness. Pluto fears not battle, war, or death. Pluto is also where, generationally, unacceptability occurs, where the antiquated must be destroyed--in the genetic / cellular patterns carried in ourselves and so in those expressed in the world.

Pluto works at a cellular and primordial level, where our deepest inner knowing and behavioral patterns are stored. Pluto can invoke cellular level stored fear regarding death, transmutation, and survival issues; as well as all early childhood programming, pre-birth, and past lifetime issues. Pluto is an "opener" and a "deprogrammer" that provides doorways for new growth and unfoldment. Pluto-type experiences (those seemingly destructive) when worked with from this perspective can support tremendous spiritual growth.

Pluto is actually a dual planet: the Pluto-Charon System, two bodies rotating around a common point (barrycenter), in spin orbit synchronicity. Pluto has an extreme eccentric orbit and an ecliptic (orbital inclination) that is tilted 17.2° with respect to Earth's--partly why it cuts through the incarnational issues. Its rotational tilt is ~122°. The diameters of Pluto and Charon (not to be confused with Chiron) create a very slow beat frequency--part of its multifaceted astrophysical parameters responsible for undermining cellular patterning.

Our First Quarter action Moon of June 14 creates a potent T-square with the Sun and Pluto, and lies in the last degree of Sidereal Leo. A diverse polarity of stellar themes sets the stage here: Spiritual Avior of Argo Navis and Alkes of Crateris, the Golden Chalice or Cup of Salvation. are the primary stars conjoining setting the action moon theme. These stars are of spiritual truth and are beneficent but lie buried in the midst of diversionary forces that can lead us astray or to our demise lest we are clear and focused upon our inner truth.

The diversionary forces come from Denebola, Beta Leo, the tail of the Lion and Alpha Antlia, the hot air pump, both which create foul breezes and smoky fires that can obscure our paths and lead us astray. They are indicative of smoke screens and diversions as well as simply the fundamental requirement to get down and dirty in the affairs of the human world. They are also related to the colon physiologically and physical toxicity (along with earlier Zosma and Chort, which create the hind of the lion), physical toxicity that can trap us in our own diversionary confusion.

Curiously conjoining Denebola and Benatnasch, but marking the Leo-Virgo cusp and lying south of the ecliptic, transcending the egoic stage setting of late sidereal Leo, is Alkes of Crateris the Cup. Here we find the way, the salvation, the greater spiritual fulfillment that we seek laying silently submerged under the diversionary shenanigans perpetuated by the egoic figureheads on stage.

The mixed theme here indicates either genuine spiritual figures or leaders, or hot-air wanna-be guru types: those spouting a lot of self important head tripping spiritual principle, but without any real substance or true wisdom. The issue of discernment arises, which is required to see the illusionists and diversionists from those of real spiritual value--to grasp the grail of Alkes through the smoke of Denebola and the hot air they spout which is articulated by conjoining Alpha Antilia, the air pump swirling the smoke. Only the pure of heart can hold the real Grail.

For those willing to delve even further south--that is, to transcend the egoic stage altogether--we find Avior, Epsilon Carina of the Argo Navis and Delta Velorum on the sail of the Argo. These two stars are associated with the underlying spiritual truth and wisdom that does lead to our greater fulfillment and well being, a truth far hidden from the ego-driven wanna-be spiritual-political self-proclaimed authorities who spout principles they do not live. Here lies the true spiritual sage who most often is one without need to be on stage, one who is often found behind the scenes simply living their spiritual truth. These are the ones working with transcendent currents of wisdom (Delta Velorum) that influence the surface world in genuine ways--those who make a real difference but who do not need to at personality level. Avior is the true sage, the awakened soul, one fully cognizant of their soul (galactic) mission, a mission transcendent to the smoke and follies common to the global stage.

Our June 14 action moon creates an ending and an opening, but we must have the discernment to see and claim that which is of true value or merely stay in the same old diversionary confusion. We must also be willing to relinquish any fear or hesitancies to step through the veils obscuring the light on the other side of the door. Either way, Pluto's death threat challenges us to step through the openning this potent First Quarter Moon creates--also the 357-day Pluto synodic theme.

Attraction & Involvement

The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the pollinating phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.

Our Gibbous Moon occurs on June 18 in mid-sidereal Libra conjoining the asteroid Ceres, which brings attention to that which is truly nourishing. Both conjoin the primary stars of the Southern Cross and the Northern Crown--a place in Libra between the feet of the Virgin and the claws of the Scorpion.

The four stars of the Southern Cross (Cruces) embody the original cardinal virtues seemly lost to most of humanity. This is the cardinality (pure intent) of the soul--embodied by the Kappa Crucis Cluster, the Jewel Box. The Southern Cross embodies the pure intent of the soul before the aberrations, confusions, and attitudes incurred by the soul throughout its entire re-incarnational process.

The North Crown represents the goal of claiming our self-mastery and attaining our evolutionary fulfillment out of the karmic-dharmic duality-based reincarnational process of growth--out of the perpetuated patterns of growth we had become entrapped in.

Here we have the opportunity to claim the beauty of life and freedom it offers (the Northern Crown), based upon that which is truly nourishing to ourselves and to those around us, or to remain entrapped in perpetuated dramatic karmic scenarios that eventually must die. The difference is based on whether we live true to our inner truth, in the pure essence held in the hearts of our souls (the Southern Cross), or we simply defer to another round in the same ole' game and enter into the Scorpion's grasp.

Vision, Enthusiasm, & Realization

Solstice occurs on June 20/21. A few hours later the Moon conjoins Pluto and in a few more it becomes full (June 21/22) on the Gate of God of the Holy Cross (5° sidereal Sag). The Sun lies on the Gate of Man (5° sidereal Gemini--the fixed axis of the Holy Cross. To learn more of Earth's precessional Cycle of the Holy Cross and this primary axis in the ecliptic please see the Holy Cross section of this web site.

Only at two times in Earth's ~25000-year precessional cycle does the solstices occur on the fixed axis of the Holy Cross: about 12,000 years ago, at the time of the "Fall" of humankind, which began the previous 12,000 years of temporal darkness, and now, at the point of the return--at the reawakening of Christ (soul-level) consciousness on Earth.

The June solstice is the point in Earth's orbit around the sun when the Earth's north pole is tilted directly toward the sun. Thus the sun is in line with Earth's most northern latitude in Earth's annual cycle creating the longest day in the northern hemisphere and the shortest in the southern hemisphere. Not only do we have this coincidence but also a solstice Full Moon.

Our Full Moon realization is about making passage into a higher office, that is, one more in line with the changes occurring in our consciousness, to bring our spiritual heart's truth into and through our physical lives, into oneness. Until we do we live a lie, less than the truth found only in the folds of our hearts, fragmented, disintegrated. The Gate of God is about parting the waters, the turmoil of life, and walking in the truth, in the light.

Conjoining the "Gate of God" is the "tip of the arrow" of the Zen Archer, marked by the star Al Nasl of Sagittarius, which points toward the Heart Center of our Galaxy. Al Nasl inspires us to hold undaunted focus upon our goal in the higher spiritual interest of our soul. Al Nasl brings us the ability to pierce the veils of illusion, and hit the mark of our highest ideals, to attain our dreams. The archer can't reach too high--he goes for the sky.

Just above the "Gate of God," lying along the Galactic equator, is Scutum, Galactic Shield of the Holy Cross, emblazoned with the Holy Cross symbol (the cross in a circle). Scutum is "Defender of the Holy Cross"--the greater evolutionary fulfillment of the soul--that which the Zen Archer undauntingly lives, stands, and is willing to die for.

Sidereal Sagittarians can only go for the totality of their dreams. They state their truth and call a spade a spade. For them to pursue less to would be denial of the galactic truth they live and breathe. Loyalty to their higher vision is all they know, to deny them their intimacy with life, their majestic space, or pursuit of their spiritual mission, is to break the sprit of a stallion which has known only the wild and free.

In shooting their arrow of Truth they often will destroy that which must die, the false truths and false gods of fear that lay hidden within self. It is this that causes the typical Sagittarian to often seem blatant and tactless. Behind this veracity is however a galactic fire and spiritual love which few comprehend, and those that know of this find the Centaur to be a tremendously loyal friend.

Manifestation & Demonstration

The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation leading into the birth point in the lunar cycle. Our Disseminating Moon of June 25 conjoins Neptune in late sidereal Capricorn. Both lie under the auspices of the Dolphin star system--presented in the previous lunar month's text:

"Neptune, of dreams, visions, illusions, and ideals, is a dissolver into Universality. Neptune conjoins Sualocin, Alpha Delphinus, the primary essence of these heavenly angelic guides. To trust in the serendipity of life is merely to surrender our personal righteous reasoning mind that needs to define and control, and to allow our selves to move with the Divine Intelligence that permeates and fluidly guides our lives. Here is the art of getting out of our own way to allow a creative solution that leads us from the conforming bounds of limited mind. Here we are asked to let this shifting and swirling dissolving force work in its own way, the way dreams become real."

Mercury, Venus, and Saturn conjoin Procyon in the first couple degrees of Cancer on June 25 through June 27. Procyon inspires our allegiance to a greater cause, purpose, or faction. Procyon inspires us to ally with another or with a group to achieve a greater purpose than we could achieve alone.

Alsciaukat brings the proverbial thorn in our side. However this is a blessing that brings us into a place and time where a unique and unexpected portal of opportunity can present itself. The key here is to be in ever-present attentive alertness to see it and seize the moment.

Perhaps a this threesome is a bit somber, but inspiring us to ground and concretize from an integrated heart and mind--perhaps even something destined to be.

Time for Change

Our Last Quarter Moon of June 28 brings our inner need to initiate change as we move into the last quarter of the lunar cycle. Our Last Quarter Moon lies in wet, sensual, and emotional Pisces and conjoins the very northern Alpha Lacerta and the very southern Alpha Reticuli.

Here we find a theme of integration--to fully embrace the primordial aspects of life and the spiritual aspects as one, by infusing the high spiritual awareness of soul in and through our carnality to become the glistening diamonds we can be. To surrender the emotional tension of resistance we hold within so spirit may manifest in its true perfection is all we need realize, but this is a transmutational process of being washed and polished by the e-motion of waves over a long period of evolutionary time--stored e-motion being the resistance to embrace the motion of experience. To fully palpate our experience in its totality is where the gift lies.

Focus to the Future

The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn from looking back over the past cycle and look toward the future cycle to come. The Balsamic Moon occurs on July 2 on the cusp of sidereal Aries-Taurus and conjoins Algol, the slain head held in the hand of Perseus.

Our coalescing Algol Moon indicates an initiatory and experiential process was at hand, one of slaying our deepest fears to claim our true personal power, or to be forever frozen in our tracks unable to attain our goal.

Our next New Moon occurs on July 6 in sidereal Gemini conjoining Sirius of Canis Major and Canopus of Argo Navis--more to come then.
