Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are--our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The purpose of the Lunar Planner is to learn to live in the experiential awareness of the present. Although the material below can provide philosophical context for your personal experience, the New Moon is the ideal time to experientially "tune in" to get your personalized lunar month's theme. Then, consciously participate with the changing Lunar Phase Characteristics in the unfoldment of that theme in your daily life using the Lunar Calendar and Lunar Planner Introduction (links at the bottom).
This New Moon occurs on the cusp of sidereal Aries, and conjoins Acamar of Eridanus, one of several stopping points along the river of life; Al Kurah of King Cepheus; the stars forming the eastern / ascending fish of Pisces; and the Quasar 3C57 in the belly of ole' Cetus, the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness. The theme of these stars, in part, motivate a desire to move forward, to attain, but to do so we must first release any residual emotional baggage or resolve them within self.
Mercury begins and completes its retrograde in this lunar cycle. Mercury retrogrades generally provide an opportunity to re-define logistics in our lives, to renegotiate, and to form new plans and strategies. Earth and Mercury begin a new 116-day (synodic) cycle in the midst of Mercury's retrograde, on the Full Moon. The new Earth-Mercury cycle's theme is defined by the stars of mid-sidereal Libra, including the stars of the Southern Cross and the Centaurus-A galaxy, a deep reflective pool of consciousness. Mars is playing a key role in the progressive acceleration for 2010, motivating clarity and integrity applied in dynamic action.
Most significantly, Saturn and Uranus make the fourth of their five oppositions just before the Full Moon of this lunar cycle. We will feel another catalytic squeeze as they approach this opposition. This event also marks entry into a very dynamic and transitional four-month period occurring in 2010. Saturn, Uranus and Makemake (one of our newly discovered and very significant planets) have key roles in the ongoing global financial restructuring. Uranus began its opposition to Saturn on November 4, 2008. Saturn will soon move from its prominent placement in our current timeline and mobilizing and expansive Jupiter will take over as it begins its several month conjunction with Uranus, which begins in the following lunar cycle. The shift in emphasis from Saturn to Jupiter will catalyze a massive transition in this few year timeline; and a potent grand Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn T-square, occurring in July and August, will hallmark the climax of this transition. The Jupiter-Uranus conjunction occuring throughout the second half of 2010 will mobilize and magnify the radical changes already in process. This should be a welcomed shift. Makemake will continue to play a prominent role along with Jupiter and Uranus through early 2011.
These are just a few of many events occurring in this lunar cycle. The Monthly Lunar Planner explores the details of these events and more, based in star-level astronomical astrology and synodic astrology.
About Synodic Cycles
Synodic Cycles are created when two (or more) planets align in their orbits around the Sun. The synodic cycle theme, defined by the planets involved and the star alignments at the time, will unfold until the two planets align again, marking the completion of the synodic cycle and the beginning of the next one.
There are many synodic cycles with unique astrological themes occurring simultaneously, creating a harmonic symphony of creative unfoldment in consciousness. Synodic cycles can be thought of as longer-term underlying currents, much like the backdrop chorus of a symphony, providing the underlying astrological context guiding our evolution.
This is the last of several New Moons that occurs on a sidereal cusp. The New Moon positions will now start to drift backward in each sign, away from the cusps.
Our previous New Moon, occurring on the cusp of sidereal Pisces, conjoined the stars forming the head of the western fish of Pisces (the Circlet), which swims west, horizontally along the ecliptic plane. This New Moon, which occurs in the last degree of sidereal Pisces, on the Arian cusp, conjoins the stars forming the eastern fish, which rises or ascends from the ecliptic plane. The two fishes of Pisces articulate the dualistic energetic nature of sidereal Pisces; and of the often tormenting or opposing forces of the Piscean emotional world. One current pulls us toward the past--those sticky emotional and psycho-physiological patterns. The other current pulls us toward the future, motivating our desire to change, mature, evolve, and attain--to ascend from our primordial origins and patterns of the past. Just across the Arian cusp is also the knot, Katain (common origin) tying the two fishes together, which also reveals that moving forward does not mean a mere denial of the past, but requires an emotional resolution within self.
To the north of the ecliptic is the outstretched arm of Andromeda, our entrapped princess, and further north, and conjoining our New Moon, is Alkurah, Xi Cepheus (sometimes found as Al Kurhah, Alkirdah or Al Kirduh). Alkurah stimulates a desire for attainment, to rise from the past or advance in position. It motivates us to attain freedom from bondage, or from emotional turmoil.
South of the ecliptic is the belly of ole' Cetus, the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness in which the digestive juices churn for our metamorphosis. Conjoining is the Quasar 3C57 of Cetus, which can manifest in rather odd experiences, those that can twist or contort us, but that act as catalyst for our emotional transformation, to help us see our struggles from a different perspective.
South of Cetus is Fornax, the furnace, which provides the fire for our transformation, and the hot drying nature of the shores of Aries. Influencing here is Beta Fornax.
Further south and conjoining our New Moon is Acamar of Eridanus, one of many stopping points along the long and winding river of life. Acamar is like a dam, and indicates that emergence from the belly of Cetus requires a breakthrough that will lead us from the foul digestive juices of Cetus and into a greater freedom of being. Alignments here can fool us into thinking that the forging we have made marks the end of our journey, when in fact it indicates the need for physical and emotional clearing; to purge any toxins we may have accumulated through the last leg our journeys. Denial of the need for such clearing merely intensifies the struggle to move onward.
The Moon conjoins stationing Mercury on April 15, just after the New Moon; and the Moon then conjoins Venus and Sedna on April 16, with the latter two conjoining just before the Crescent Moon of April 18, which is also at the time when Mercury begins its retrograde. Thus, we immediately commence a time of reorganization of the logistics in our lives, which continues throughout this lunar cycle, until Mercury returns direct just after the Balsamic Moon.
The Venus-Sedna conjunction in late sidereal Aries can impel us to heal or clear deeply buried issues surrounding having been hurt, lost, abandoned or exiled; and any emotional feelings of not wanting to participate due to such experiences; or perhaps for not having the life we once thought we deserved. This may especially be true regarding feminine-related (heart felt) principles or aspects of our selves.
Sedna is a recently discovered very distant planet orbiting our Sun. Sedna is not formally a Dwarf Planet, but more of a planetoid. It was named Sedna for an Inuit goddess who lives at the bottom of the frigid Arctic ocean. Sedna approaches the Sun only briefly during its very long 10,500-year orbit.
There are several mythical versions of Sedna's story. Basically, Inuit Sedna is a beautiful but vain maiden who is quite content living at home with her parents. She refuses several potential husbands but is finally coerced to marry by her father. However, she ends up marring an evil bird disguised as a man and is wisped away to a distant island for a life of misery and quarantine. Her father attempts to rescue Sedna, but on their way back home, in her father's kayak, the birdman attacks. In a vicious struggle and in fear of his life, Sedna's father either inadvertently or deliberately pushes Sedna overboard into the frigid Arctic waters. Sedna eventually drowns in dramatic scenario of deceit, betrayal and abandonment. Sedna becomes the goddess of the sea watching over the mammals of the oceans. Sedna has the head and torso of a woman, and the tail of a fish--our mermaiden. More about Sedna.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonics Audio Meditations, the few days leading into the Mercury retrograde and Crescent Moon (April 18) is an ideal time to work with the Mercury audio meditation. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the lunar theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past and emerges in a new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.
Mercury begins its retrograde 1.5 hours before the Crescent Moon.
The Crescent Moon of April 17-18 resides in sidereal Taurus and brings our attention to home, family, business, career, money, health, and the physical aspects of our lives. The Moon conjoins Tau Taurus, and the stars forming the Shield of Orion, which lie a few degrees past Aldebaran. Both Aldebaran and the Shield bring attention to the physical infrastructures supporting our lives. The theme of Orion's Shield is one of providing protection in the world of human affairs. Associated with the essence of Aldebaran, this is in regard to our physical abodes and daily sustenance, of taking care of and being taken care of. The Shield is also of endurance and victory in this pursuit.

The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our First Quarter Moon occurs on April 21 in early sidereal Cancer and conjoins Tegmine of Cancer. North is the Lynx, and the forefoot of the Great Bear; and Anwar al Farkadain, Eta of Ursa Minor, of the lesser bear, the faintest star of the seven that form the Little Dipper. South is the hind of the Unicorn; and further south is Ahadi, a star in Puppis, on the stern of the Argo.
A unique view of the very unique Starburst Galaxy M82 in Ursa Major
"M82 shows intense star formation packed in dense star clusters. This powers plumes of hot gas that extend for tens of thousands of light-years above and below the starry plane of the galaxy. This cosmic hurricane is traveling at more than a million miles an hour into intergalactic space." (Dr. Linda Smith, Department of Physics and Astronomy, University College London)
Image credit: Mark Westmoquette (UCL), Jay Gallagher (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Linda Smith (UCL), WIYN/NSF, NASA/ESA.
Tegmine (Tegmen or Tegmeni) is a multiple star system containing at least four stars. Tegmen refers to the protective shell of the crab, a cover that protects. Tegmine is the first prominent star of Cancer.
The forefoot of the Great Bear is marked by Talitha (Iota) and Kappa of Ursa Major, which I dub as protectress, guardian, and nurturer of humanity. This duo is the Chinese "High Dignitary." Of the Great Bear they are associated with the global scene and world powers. They inspire us to become a caring and nurturing force for each other, a force that responsibility supports our emergence from darkness, dogma, and delusion, emergence from the limits and bounds created by our structured beliefs, a force that supports our reawakening to light, to live in freedom, and in greater personal fulfillment.
Also conjoining Talitha is a pulsar (APO 0823+26) in Cancer that provides a constant reminder to emerge from psycho-emotional issues common to the collective consciousness of the group of people with whom we associate. It inspires us to be independent and free thinkers rather than co-dependant followers of dogmatic belief structures that limit our ability to initiate creative action that supports the manifestation of our greater fulfillment--to pursue the greater visions (embodied by Dubhe of Ursa Major) we hold for our evolutionary freedom and our personal and collective fulfillment.
Pulsars are navigational beacons for the soul, guiding us if we listen. Generally pulsars lie along the galactic plane, but because this pulsar has a non-galactic orientation, one must watch the propensity to turn one's action into yet more human dogma, creating merely another blind ceremonial pattern. For the less aware, it may even reinforce behavior driven from such dogmatic consciousness, creating monotonous drone-like creatures of habit.
Ahadi of Puppis is a supergiant star, which shines with the luminosity of 19,200 suns and with a radius estimated to be about 290 times our sun. Ahadi is orange in color and contrasts beautifully with surrounding blue stars, all of which compose the open star cluster called "Collinder 135." Ahadi means "having much promise." Being of the Argo, this is in reference to our greater evolutionary journey and its fulfillment.
Our First Quarter Moon inspires the expression of our uniqueness in genuine, open, and honest participation, without dogma or defense of belief structures. It provides opportunity to take cooperative action that leads to fulfillment in our journeys in life.
The Dwarf Planet Ceres and the minor planet Ixion begin a new 4.7-year synodic cycle in Ophiuchus, and in the sidereal sign of Scorpio. Ceres and Ixion lie between the legs of Ophiuchus and over the body of the Scorpion. They conjoin Ras Algethi, the head of Hercules, which is north of Ophiuchus.
Ceres is of that which is nourishing, related to the earth, womb and ecological issues. Ceres is often prominent in the charts of ecological or geological events. More about Ceres. The planet Ixion was recently discovered on May 22, 2001 and thus its astrological nature is not yet fully comprehended. From initial explorations, Ixion seems to be related to the resolution between those in authoritarian positions, involving the tyrannical suppression, manipulation, and exploitation; and between the often malicious and deceptive power-plays between authoritarian figureheads. More about Ixion.
The synthesis of Ceres and Ixion may be related to deeds regarding environmental issues, such as between people in prominent positions deceptively manipulating Earth's environment, food sources and the such; and / or who manipulate such things or the truth about these issues to bolster their own positions of power and wealth. Either way, Ixion seems to support the exposure of these types of issues, if not helping to bring them to justice.
The theme of this Ceres-Ixion synodic cycle is defined by Ras Algethi, the head of Hercules; and Sarin, shoulder of Hercules.
Hercules stands upside down in the northern Heavens, north above Ophiuchus, with his feet (foundation) in the celestial dome (seven Heavens), in the realm of the gods, and with his head and hands at work in the realm of humankind aiding those in the incarnate world struggling to claim their freedom from perpetuated mortal entrapment.
Ras Algethi is the lucida (brightest star) of this constellation and marks the head of Hercules. Ras Algethi embodies the wisdom of Hercules (derived partly from his heavenly heritage and partly from his challenging Earthian experience) and contributes significantly to the Ophiuchus / Scorpio theme. Hercules is one seeded from another realm but who is intimately aware of the human dilemma, the struggle and its cause (the alchemical amalgamation of those from the heavens with those of the Earth). His beauty and intelligence he gains from Alcmene his mother and his wisdom of evolutionary matters along with his shrewd sagacity he gains from Zeus is father. The motivation behind his undaunted and bold actions expresses from experiencing the human struggle and knowing the heavenly freedom possible. His presence upon the incarnational plane is of a service capacity, a mission of evolutionary proportion--to ensure our evolutionary freedom both personally and for all souls on Earth.
Sarin, the shoulder of Hercules, along with Kornephoros, is of strength and responsibility to aid others in their pursuit for freedom. Hercules helps and teaches others to claim their self-mastery and freedom from the dominion of others and from false beliefs placed upon them.
The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the Pollinating Phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction. This Gibbous Moon occurs on April 24-25 in late sidereal Leo. The Moon reside at the hind of the Lion, between Sigma Leo, the hind paw, and Denebola, the tail of the Lion. North is Canes Venatici, the barking hounds; and the tail of the Great Bear. It exactly conjoins Delta Velorum, which lies very south in the sail of the Argo. Generally this zodiacal area is of diversionary commotion and smoke screens deliberately designed to hide the real issues and power plays occurring in the global arena. An example is the cover-ups underlying the reasons behind the covert big bank seizures.
This area of the zodiak demands discernment and the willingness to delve beneath the diversionary commotion perpetuated by the egoic-driven spiritual-political big-business self-proclaimed authorities who spout principles they do not live to find the underlying truth and wisdom that leads to our greater well being.
The start of this lunar cycle motivated a need to get emotionally and physically clear within, and our Gibbous Moon reveals why. This inner clarity, and being free of past baggage, is prerequisite to access and work with transcendent currents of true wisdom (Delta Velorum), to be able to make a real difference in our lives and in our world. The emphasis of our Gibbous Moon is Delta Velorum, thus inspiring us to transcend the antics upon the global stage and to access more refined and durative currents guiding our evolutionary fulfillment.
A Winding Tributary on Mars

Mars and Vesta begin a new 4-year synodic cycle just after the Gibbous Moon on April 25. Curiously this synod occurs very near to the location of our Gibbous Moon, about two degrees earlier in the ecliptic, thus with a stellar theme very similar to our Gibbous Moon. The synod conjoins Chara the Beta star of the Barking Hounds. Also of influence is Mizar of the Great Bear. Again we have a dramatic energetic, and Mizar's fiery nature stimulates creative expression. However this energy must be clearly focused, lest it can be destructively explosive.
Fitting for Mars and Vesta: Vesta is the asteroid of focus, dedication and commitment; of physical, emotional, and mental clarity. Vesta inspires clarity within self at all levels for the expression of one's highest potential and true essence. Vesta will bring attention to that which is of true importance and will ignite and burn away that which is not--hence Vesta's eternal flame. More about Vesta.
Mars, of course, stimulates creative action. These two make a good pairing, yet if we are not clear within, but are scattered, unable to focus, or have fear of intimacy with life, and considering the stellar alignments, we have very volatile energetic. Mars, when expressed with clarity and maturity, produces audacious dynamic creative action in responsible leadership. Again, bringing attention back to the New Moon theme.
Those who have been following these cycles and alignments closely may notice that a potent underling and very progressive current is building in our grand symphony of planetary cycles.
Mars, recently retrograde throughout the first two months of 2010, began its new synodic cycle with Earth (in sidereal Cancer) in late January, and on the Full Moon in the January lunar cycle; with a theme inspiring us to overcome and emerge from our antiquated but obstinate behavioral patterns, beliefs, and delusions.
See the January 15, 2010 Lunar Planner
Excerpt: "This new Mars cycle inspires assertive expansive creative action to help us emerge from the behavioral patterns and antiquated beliefs of the past that keep us buried in darkness and delusion. It inspires the tenacity to overcome and to emerge into a new light of being. This cycle will continue through March 3, 2012, into our next Mars retrograde."
Earth and Vesta then began a new synodic cycle in the following February lunar cycle (on Feb 18); conjoining Regulus in early Leo, inspiring clarity and integrity in leadership.
See the February 14, 2010 Lunar Planner
Excerpt: "Regulus is about our inner "vertical integrity," that is, living true to self; openly on world stage…. This new 533-day Earth-Vesta Cycle, in-part, invites us to align ourselves within, to sever external psychic or emotional strings we may project toward others or external involvements that may drain our energy, that may hold us in a dysfunctional sympathetic resonance, and that may divert us from living in our integrity, true to self." Regulus is of dynamic leadership, of those prominently on the world stage.
Mars then completed its retrograde in early March; also in but toward the end of the February 14 lunar cycle. Thus we began to feel a sense of movement and motivation for action once again as we engaged in the March 15, 2010 lunar cycle.
Excerpt: "A very welcomed change, especially for the impatient: Mars completes its retrograde on March 10, 2010 in early sidereal Cancer, supporting creative action once again. Mars, although attributed by some to have somewhat of a contentious nature, is an initiating creative force; and in its mature expression, Mars is audacious, brave, instinctual, passionate and willful. Mars stimulates creativity, sexuality, vitality, life force and self-expression. It, like adrenaline, stimulates our capacity to respond to life with assertive creative action. Mars returning direct marks the full commencement of the very significant new Earth-Mars 780-day synodic cycle that began on the Full Moon of January 29-30...."
Mars and Orcus began a new 1.9-year synodic cycle in mid-March conjoining Regulus of Leo and Megrez of Ursa Major. This new Mars-Orcus two-year cycle stimulates creative action to initiate a new tack upon our courses in life, with a new perspective, specifically in living true to our souls' purpose in life--why we are here on Earth.
Also in the March lunar cycle, Earth and Saturn began a very significant new synodic cycle in the early part of that lunar cycle, on the March 20, 2010 equinox; thus on Earth's Precessional Holy Cross. This synod occurred in early Virgo, and with a theme vastly different than the previous one.
Excerpt: " The last Earth-Saturn cycle began on March 8, 2009 in late sidereal Leo. This previous Saturn synodic cycle was key in the Saturn-Makemake Uranus opposition, which brought emphasis to the upheaval, restructuring and exposure of the covert and manipulative shenanigans occurring in the old totalitarian government, big business and financial paradigms.... The new Earth-Saturn synodic cycle occurs in early Virgo.... This synod definitely marks a significant shift in the Earth-Saturn spiral of synodic cycles.... ...which invites responsible allegiance to a purer, more spiritual truth.... Ceres also creates a T-square to the equinox Sun-Saturn opposition; and Mars trines the Sun, is sextile Saturn, and is inconjunct to Ceres. This Equinox Geometry brings attention to Ceres, mother of the asteroids...."
We now have the new Mars-Vesta cycle engaging. All of these events (the start of these new cycles) precede the upcoming shift of emphasis from Saturn to Jupiter (mentioned above), which will occur over the months ahead. We will begin to experience this shift as Jupiter makes its first opposition with Saturn in the following lunar cycle, and prominently when Jupiter conjoins Uranus in early June on Earth's Precessional Cross. This will preceed the grand Saturn-Pluto-Jupiter T-square, which will start to form in mid-July, with it climaxing in August.
All of this is can be graphically seen in the 2010 Graphic Ephemeris.
Thus, we have motivation for clarity and integrity in dynamic action occurring now, along with an entirely new tone for Saturn's emphasis on responsibility and concretization. This leads into Jupiter's upcoming synthesis with Uranus, which will mobilize and expand upon the radical changes that we have been making over the last couple of years. This is why the changes we are now making in our lives, and those we have been working on, are so important, and why getting clear and focused is so important regarding how we use are creative energy; not only because everything is about to radically accelerate, but the changes we are setting into place now are that which will be mobilized in a much grander way as we move through the rest of this year.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonics Audio Meditations, the few days leading into the Saturn-Uranus Opposition (April 26) is an ideal time to work with the Saturn and Uranus audio meditations. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
Saturn-Uranus oppositions #4 & #5
Jupiter's entry to oppose Saturn and conjoin Uranus
and the Great Jupiter-Pluto-Saturn T-square
Saturn and Uranus make the fourth of their five oppositions on April 26, 2010. The fifth will occur in late July. Jupiter makes its grand entry in the midst of this final Saturn-Uranus gateway created by the fourth and fifth Saturn-Uranus oppositions. (shown to the right). The Moon triggers the fourth opposition a day before the conjunction, on April 25, as the Moon conjoins Saturn. Expect an intense day.
This Saturn-Uranus opposition occurs in early Virgo-Pisces; with retrograde Saturn just a couple of degrees before the location of the Earth-Saturn synod in early Virgo. Saturn conjoins the Super-giant Spiral galaxy M100 in Coma Berenices; and Beta, Theta, and Gamma Crateris (the cup). Also of influence is the North Galactic Pole (NGP), which defines the orientation of our galaxy and the "Gate of God" (5° Sag) and "Gate of Man" (5° Gem), which are square to the galactic pole (where the March equinox Earth-Saturn synod occurred)--thus with a stellar energetic similar to the Saturn synodic theme.
This few degree location in sidereal Virgo might be considered as the high spiritual essence of the Virgin; It is of light, illumination, of spiritual integrity, and of soul / source guidance and awareness. This is also near the location of Huamea's Aphelion. Haumea, a newly discovered Dwarf Planet, supports a new birth in consciousness. More about Haumea.
Spiral Galaxy M100 in Coma Berenices
Coma Berenices (halo or crown of the Virgin) embodies our spiritual essence and soul guidance. The North Galactic Pole (NGP) resides in Coma (5° sidereal Virgo). This is the northern point of the polar axis around which our entire galaxy spins. The NGP defines a principle geometric relationship between our ecliptic plane and our galaxy. Astrologically, the North Galactic Pole brings confidence, stability, and guidance for the greater evolutionary purpose, mission and fulfillment for all souls.
Southern Crateris the Cup (sometimes called the Cup of Salvation) embodies our greater fulfillment in life based on true spiritual principles waiting to be discovered, but which can be obscured by the totalitarian manipulative power-plays of those spouting they have the enlightenment to lead humanity to freedom.
This location in the ecliptic is one that asks us to discern whether we are blindly following self-proclaimed totalitarian authoritarian political-religious rulers and gurus and their propaganda or if we are seeking a deeper fulfillment based in and guided by true spiritual principles--trusting our own inner guidance.
Uranus resides in early Pisces and conjoins Scheat of Pegasus and Gamma Phoenix. This is also near the location of Huamea's Perihelion. Also of influence is the South Galactic Pole (SGP) and the Sculptor Galaxy NGC 253.
Scheat reveals the essence of early sidereal Pisces and the very foundation of life--water. Scheat brings attention to our life force and the use of it. Scheat also brings attention to the waters of life and to the purity of our body fluids, especially our "lymph," which means Flowing Spirit of the Living Waters of Life. Scheat pertains to all waters of the world, but also to body fluids, especially water's relationship to the purification of the physical vehicle and the body's requirement for refined life force energies to express through the fluids molecular matrix. Scheat also brings attention to our blood, sacred sexual fluids and saliva, as well as to the types of fluids that we bring into our bodies. The purity and movement of the lymph and blood is not only essential for the elimination of toxins, but is also required for the transference of subtle light energies of cosmic intelligence (our soul's essence) to express through our genetic coding. The more light we express the truer we express the vibrancy of our souls, and the more life giving spirit substance we embody. This is why peoples throughout history have sought Living Water--healing springs flowing endlessly from the ground of their own accord, water said to bring immortality--the word immortality here meaning "not being subject to premature degeneration and death." Alignments with Scheat ask us to consider what we are doing with our primordial life force, how we are using our Chi / Xi, our primal energy. Scheat also asks us to integrate our primordial essence with our spiritual essence--to realize they are one flowing life-giving force.
Saturn-Uranus oppositions #4
aspecting Orcus, Neptune and Chiron
The Saturn-Uranus opposition also aspects Orcus and Neptune-Chiron, which are also opposite. This stimulates a challenging opportunity for creative solution.
The Neptune/Chiron-Orcus axis lies 30° from the Saturn-Uranus axis. Thus the semi-sextile aspect (30° harmonic) aspect between Saturn and Orcus creates an opportunity for growth--to learn how to ally these to energetics or forces in strength. The semi-sextile between Uranus and Neptune-Chiron does the same. The two crossing inconjunct aspects (150° harmonics) between Saturn and Neptune-Chiron, and between Uranus and Orcus stimulate an opportunity for creative solution between their respective energetics. Thus, our Saturn-Uranus opposition becomes far more dynamic in character.
Neptune and Chiron reside in early sidereal Aquarius conjoining Gienah, tip of the wing of Cygnus and Cygnus X-3, which lies on the galactic plane. (Neptune and Chiron were recently conjunct (Chiron is now about 2° past Neptune) The two began a compounded synodic cycle with Jupiter back in September 2009; the theme of which is presented in the 2008-2011 timeline#Jupiter_Chiron.)
Cygnus X-3 resides in a unique galactic equatorial area, one of the galactic "sacks of coal," a dark void along the galactic plane (easily identified between Sadr and Deneb on a dark starry night). Cyg X-3 provides opportunity to peer beyond the dualities of life due to the absence of "forms" created by the interplay of light. Cyg X-3 offers the opportunity to relinquish segregations based on sex, creed, or culture. Here we cannot wear or hide behind our mortal facades. We are asked to participate from our true unique soul essence and to see the same in others. We are asked to embrace all people from an androgynous perspective transcending soul's incarnational experience in the duality of sexuality. Mutually exclusive attractions based on gender, race, or creed create factions amongst our true soul-level friends and families. Here lies the embracing aspect of the Aquarian Waterman, the inclusiveness of Universal / Uranian love.
Orcus lies opposite conjoining Regulus of Leo. Orcus, compliment to Pluto, addresses how we are applying our personal will for the greater well being of all humanity; how we are contributing to human society. Orcus motivates the use of our day-to-day lives, our daily activity for soul's greater purpose on Earth--to live the oaths of our souls. Orcus is currently bathed in stellar light of Regulus, creating an environment of personal integrity in leadership. More about Orcus.
If we follow the progression of the previous Saturn-Uranus oppositions, presented in the 2008-2011 timeline, we can clearly see a progressive shift occurring in these oppositions; with the first November 2008 opposition and the second opposition of February 2009 occurring when Saturn was in late Leo (of diversions, smoke screens), muc different thatn Saturn's current placement in early Virgo. In addition to the different stellar alignments of each conjunction and the unique aspects associated with each, the forth and fifth Saturn-Uranus oppositions occur in the entirely new Virgo Earth-Saturn synodic cycle. They also occur after the September 2009 mid-point of the 44-year Saturn-Uranus synodic cycle, which began on June 9, 1988. This is a time of realization in this greater cycle, that is, a time of realizing the meaning of this cycle in our lives. This larger cycle is discussed here in the 2008-2011 timeline#Sept_09.
This September 2009 mid-point also coincided with the "Saturn-Uranus Synodic Opposition" (the Uranus-Earth-Sun-Saturn-Makemake alignment), which marked the start of a new 32-year Saturn-Makemake Synodic Cycle. Thus, the theme of the Saturn-Makemake cycle is just emerging. So the forth and fifth Saturn-Uranus oppositions also occur in emergence of this new Saturn-Makemake cycle. This event was discussed here in the 2008-2011 timeline#Saturn_Makemake.
The Time of Global Change is at Hand.
What is the end of the World for some is a New World for those who realize it is.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonics Audio Meditations, the few days leading into the Mercury synod and the Full Moon (April 28) is an ideal time to work with the Mercury audio meditation. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
The Full Moon marks the culmination point in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement and celebration. The hours leading up to the Full Moon provide a time of "vision and enthusiasm." The time just after Full Moon is a one of "realization of the lunar month's theme," a time to kick back and relax, to allow our realizations to surface in consciousness.
The globular cluster Omega Centauri--containing about ten million stars-- is seen in all its splendour in this image captured with the Wide Field Imager (WFI), mounted on the 2.2-metre diameter Max-Planck/ESO telescope, located at ESO's La Silla Observatory, high up in the arid mountains of the southern Atacama Desert in Chile. The image shows only the most central part of the cluster (a field of view of about half a degree)--the full cluster appears almost as big as the full moon. Omega Centauri is about 150 light-years across and is the most massive of all the Milky Way's globular clusters--the largest and brightest globular cluster in the sky; and a favourite celestial object for stargazers from the southern hemisphere.
Omega Centauri has been observed throughout history. Both astronomers Ptolemy and later Johann Bayer catalogued the cluster as a star. It was not until much later, in the early 19th century, that the English astronomer John Frederick William Herschel (son of the discoverer of Uranus), realized that Omega Centauri was in fact a globular cluster.

The Full Moon occurs on April 28, 2010 in mid-sidereal Libra. The Sun conjoins retrograde Mercury; and a new Earth-Mercury 116-day synodic cycle is set into motion as well. The Earth-Mercury synod occurs about 4.5 hours after the Full Moon. Thus, the theme of this Full Moon and the Earth-Mercury 116-day synodic cycle is one and the same. The alignment is: Sun-Mercury-Earth-Moon. The previous Earth-Mercury synodic cycle began on January 4, 2010--presented in the December 16, 2009 Lunar Planner.
The Full Moon and the Earth-Mercury synod star alignments are: Centaurus-A Nuclear Galaxy and the Omega Centauri Globular Cluster; Gamma Crucis (Southern Cross); Beta Corona Borealis (Northern Crown); and the Quasar 3C 351 in northern Draco.
Centaurus-A is the "Temple of the Centaur," a place so unique that it seems oblivious to and undaunted by its surrounding cosmology. It nests within a very unusual galaxy (NGC 5128) not fitting into any galactic class, thus, unique as the Centaur is, it is unclassified. It is the closest active galaxy to Earth. Centaurus-A is a very deep pool of consciousness, the essence of pure consciousness. It is of quality, beauty, harmony, and perfection.
South of Centaurus-A are the stars of the Southern Cross. The Centaur is protector of the Southern Cross and benevolent teacher of its principles. The four stars of the Southern Cross (Cruces) embody the original cardinal virtues seemly lost to most of humanity. This is the cardinality (pure intent) of the soul--embodied by the Kappa Crucis Cluster, the Jewel Box. The Southern Cross embodies the pure intent of the soul before the aberrations, confusions, attitudes, and beliefs incurred by the soul throughout its entire incarnational sojourn.
Centaurus-A invites us to create a contemplative or meditative harmonious space or environment from which to access our inner cardinal soul wisdom, our original and unique purpose and intent, which underlie the aberrations, false beliefs, and restricting concepts we may have placed upon ourselves.
Centaurus-A invites us to enter a place of inner stillness, to relinquish the concepts of thought we associate with our existing lives. This inner excursion requires a willingness to go deep within and to allow a disintegration of the constructs of self we hold, our human mold, of what we think ourselves to be, and to emerge with a far deeper awareness of our true selves, the inner knowing of our true essence. We can then bring that pure essence, that intent, back into our life expression without the need to mold ourselves into mass consensus. The successful feat can result in an inversion or flip in consciousness--with a revelation of great magnitude, one that can change our lives forever.
Centaurus-A also conjoins the Beta star of the Northern Crown, and Quasar 3C 351 of northern Draco. This quasar inspires access to ancient time, when soul was pristine in its intent and purpose, and to pull this awareness into the present expression with passion, enthusiasm, art, and beauty to attain our evolutionary freedom and fulfillment, exemplified by Ophiuchus holding the serpent pointing its head to the Northern Crown, which lies north and above the Claws of the Scorpion (the scales of Libra).
This new Mercury 116-day cycle invites us to get into deeper, more balanced and centered thought processes; to develop well thought out plans and strategies; and to create harmonious, peaceful, organized and creatively conducive environments from which we can express our pure intent and greatest potential.
Ceres begins its retrograde also on April 28. A new Earth-Ceres synod will begin in the midst of its retrograde on June 18, 2010 conjoining the Galactic Center, which lies just inside sidereal Sagittarius. This will be a significant synod, also occurring on a First Quarter Moon, which will conjoin Saturn.
Venus and Juno, the asteroid of covenant relations, conjoin on May 1 in mid-sidereal Taurus just a couple of hours before our Demonstrable Moon. These two always make a beautiful pairing and create a wonderful energy.
The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon generally is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation that leads into the birth point in the lunar cycle, the time of bearing the fruit of the cycle, of claiming its gift, of living that which we have been learning.
The Disseminating Moon occurs on May 1-2 just across the cusp of sidereal Sagittarius conjoining Galactic Center.

Sagittarius, stargate to Galactic Center, is commonly referred to as the Sagittarian Centaur, Zen Archer, or the First Horseman whose arrow points toward Galactic Center. Sagittarius, both a galactic constellation and an ecliptical constellation (lying upon the galactic equator and the ecliptic) oversees the "Gate of God" (5° sidereal Sag)--the primary fiducial (marking point) not only of Earth ~25,000 year precessional cycle, but also of the sidereal zodiak. Sagittarius is the Galactic City of Light responsible for the higher spiritual education about our galactic heritage and the evolution of the soul.
From R.H. Allen, "Star Names: Their Lore & Meaning": "…the Strong One, and Illuminator of the Great City (i.e., galactic center); Light of the White Face; and on the stones of Sippara (the Sepharvaim of the Old Testament)--a solar city Sagittarius, 'appears sculptured in full glory.'"
It is not uncommon for those with prominent a Sagittarian energetic to experience the entire world populous and life in general as intimately and intensely as they experience themselves--it takes the spiritual and soul maturity accompanied with the Sagittarian domain to embrace this fusion of consciousness. This Unified Galactic Consciousness also is what creates the incredible passion, zeal and pursuit for Truth that is often found driving the Sagittarian and guiding their arrow--they truly run on Galactic currents and Divine directive.
The Sagittarian Centaur can pursue only the totality of his dreams, blatantly states his truth, and call a spade a spade. For the Centaur to pursue less would be to negate the Galactic Truth he lives and breaths. Loyalty to a higher vision is all he knows, to deny him intimacy with life, the majestic space he needs, or pursuit of his spiritual mission, is to break the sprit of a stallion, which has known only the wild and free.
In shooting his arrow of Truth, the Zen Archer destroys that which must die, the false truths and false gods of fear that lie hidden within self. It is this directness that causes the Centaur to often seem blatant and tactless. Behind this tenacity however is a galactic fire and profound love that few comprehend. Only those that know this find the true Centaurian to be a tremendously loyal friend.
Friend and siderealist Andrés Takra on Sagittarius: "Sagittarians are friendly, happy, ambitious and grandiose. They like to be noticed by others. They are often leaders in tribal affairs, politics and government offices, as well as in social-reform movements (Uranus exalted in sidereal Sag ~9°). They are at home in organizations groups, meeting, and conventions. They are great organizers and directors, and compose what we call the bourgeoisie. They are the patrons of the arts. They are fond of good food, wine, ease and comfort. You will never see people strongly governed by Jupiter living in squalor and misery. They seek quality and quantity! Sagittarians love to travel to distant places and are adventurous... Their colour is blue ...signifying nobleness, elevation and truth."
Our Milky Way Galaxy
This 2008 illustration shows a revised look at our galaxy, the Milky Way. Scientists studying infrared images from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope determined our galaxy's spiral has two major and two minor arms instead of four major arms, as was previously thought. The demoted arms can be seen as faint trails between the major arms, which emanate from the ends of the orange central bar.
The Sagittarian Centaur sees beyond the limitations of human suffering and fearful expression. He sees raw human experience serving soul's greater growth, and it is this that he is willing to fight and die for. The Sagittarian Centaur sees with a unique angle (galactic plane 60° to ecliptic plane), view or perspective, with a “Zen Eye” and shoots his arrow of dreams toward a very unique and visionary pursuit.
There are several entries in the first two degrees of sidereal Sagittarius: The Butterfly Star Cluster M6; Pulsar P1727 of Ara (over the high Altar, which lies under Galactic Centre); Gertab of Scorpio; Gamma Ophiuchus, the shoulder of Ophiuchus; and of course, our Galactic Center.
North of Galactic Center is Cebalrai (Beta) and Gamma Ophiuchus, which mark the right shoulder of Ophiuchus, he who stands with one foot over the Scorpion's head and the other over Galactic center. Ophiuchus is knowledge holder over the raw creative forces governing life and death--one who has attained ascension from the lower-order forces that perpetuate our scenarios of (re-incarnational) entrapment. Ophiuchus is exemplar of one who has mastered the initiatory forces of life and who has brought the interplay of these forces to a greater spiritual fulfillment. Cebalrai and Gamma Ophiuchus impart a sense of responsibility to apply one's soul-level wisdom for the greater education of all souls.

Galactic Center, this stillness, eye of the vortex, or heart center of our galaxy is the zeropoint spacetime reference for our evolutionary system. The Galaxy (from galacto se. milk; that which provides our greater nourishment--hence called the “Milky Way”): specifically Galactic Center, and the galactic plane radiating from the core of our Galaxy, is and provides the greater evolutionary context for souls participating in our galaxy. The soul (solar) plane for our planet in this solar system lies at a 60° geometric harmonic orientation to the Galactic Plane, and it is through the nodal axis of these intersecting planes that allows a transference of galactic awareness with soul-plane consciousness. This occurs at the Gate of God, the Galactic Equatorial Node (GEN) at 5° sidereal Sagittarius.
The core of our galaxy is the source from which springs the spiraling arms upon which nest all of the stars and life in our galaxy. Alignments with our Galactic Core invite us to enter the pure essence of galactic awareness; to allow a re-assemblage of our consciousness and to subsequently re-emerge with a new wisdom and greater truth, which we must then apply with conscious and responsible deliberation in our lives. Typically this is an all or nothing deal, no in-betweens. Here we must strip ourselves of false facades and false gods, and relinquish lesser vibrational modes of being and ways of participating in the manifest world, and pull forth the totality of our soul essence and express this greater maturity into a higher-order expression throughout our incarnational sojourns. Galactic Core offers opportunity for re-instatement into soul awareness.
Our ability to perform such a maneuver is a function of whether we have embraced our earlier initiations in life, of our spiritual adeptness and the level of discipline and personal power we have claimed in life, and to go within and to turn inside-out, to allow a disintegration of all that we hold ourselves to be, and to reemerge only with our true essence of self. If the maneuver is pursued in fullness, than we are forever redefined into a higher-order expression. If attempts are haphazardly made, one at best is left only with an unyielding need to surrender what yet must die along with the inability to live in the totality of their greater potential, which beckons relentlessly from within as a tormenting vortex that eventually must be faced.
All of this creates the essence infusing through our Demonstrable Moon--to undauntedly participate from this far-more embracing Zen-wisdom and maturity.
Earth and Pallas begin a new 450-day synodic cycle on May 3-4, 2010. Pallas is currently retrograde in sidereal Libra. However, due to its radical orbital inclination to the ecliptic (~35°) it is currently quite north of the ecliptic, directly under the Northern Crown. The theme of the North Crown is of primary essence for this synodic cycle. The conjoining stars are Alphecca, Alpha and Gamma Corona Borealis; Menkent, Theta and Zeta Centauri; Acrux, Alpha Crucis and the Jewel Box of the Southern Cross; and the Spiral Galaxy NGC 5728 in Libra, which lies near Zubenelgenubi, the southern scale of Libra, which is also the southern claw of the Scorpion.
Pallas embodies the artful expression of creative intelligence and soul wisdom that has been claimed from the integration of past experience in duality--from having been on both sides of the fence at one time or another in our incarnational experience. This experiential wisdom provides a foundation to express non-judgment in courageous solution. Mature Pallas expresses artistic creative intelligence from the integration of the masculine and feminine principles, from unification beyond the judgments of one side verses the other. Pallas is the applier and defender of wisdom and truth; the expression of intellect in craft--inventiveness. Mature Pallas accepts personal responsibility for having co-created one's experience; i.e. resolution of victim consciousness. Pallas has the capacity to link, unify and bring together, and has wonderful perceptual skills for planning and public relations. Pallas significantly effects emotional and physical equilibrium.
The immature expression of Pallas often manifests as vengeful, spiteful and judgmental standoffs and side-taking; or as spiteful withdrawal, with a refusal for resolution or discussion. More about Pallas.
The Earth-Pallas synod lies between the feet of the Virgin and the Claws of the Scorpion (scales of Libra).
Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali (Alpha and Beta Libra) form the balance or scales of Libra in modern illustrations. They respectively lie at ~20° and ~24° Libra. These two stars are also the "Chelae of the Scorpion," extending from the sign of Scorpio and the Scorpion's head back into Libra. The Chelae of the Scorpion reach toward the feet of the Virgin, in mid-sidereal Libra. The overall mythical image here is of the Virgin giving birth, with the Scorpion's claws reaching up to receive this birth. The Northern Crown directly above articulates opportunity for attainment beyond entrapment by the Scorpion's claws. This image articulates the birthing of the soul into the reincarnational process of soul growth through the balance of experience; and the opportunity for mastery over this process. This mythical articulation was destroyed in recent (Chaldean / Roman) times: The Scorpion’s Chelae and the Virgin's legs had both been severed from our stellar mythos, and so too its profound significance regarding the reincarnational process of soul growth.
Zubenelgenubi and Zubeneschamali are the karmic and dharmic seats for humanity; the former about our past experience and patterns of growth, and the latter about our future path of experience and growth, that which we have yet to do, our capacity, or duty in a sense, to do it differently--to grow and change.
This is why our modern image of Libra is considered to be the scales of justice--implying the need to experience both sides (a balance) of human experience in order to gain self-mastery as an incarnating soul. It does not imply the guilt trip laden idea of paying for misdeeds deemed by a mediating and governing church-state that pretends to stand between an incarnate soul and God--a ploy used by the church-state puppet-masters to control and manipulate the masses. Nor does it refer to paying for past deeds done in a prior incarnation. Here, in the reincarnational clutches of the Scorpion, the incarnating soul learns self-responsibility and self-mastery, to claim the true freedom that the scales of Libra stand for, by choice, by choosing to move from the patterns and scenarios of the past and to participate in a new way, to step into a new way of being, upon a new path of experience--in essence to complete one's destiny or incarnational purpose of soul growth.
Alignments with Zubenelgenubi, the southern claw, indicate a responsibility to address or complete any entrapping situations--unfinished business, or simply entrapping patterns and scenarios in this life. Zubenelgenubi also marks Saturn's exalted location in the ecliptic. Saturn is often called the lord of karmic retribution. Alignments with Zubeneschamali, the northern claw, indicate a responsibility to step forward from our past patterns of growth and life scenarios into our intended new experience, into our future destiny, by taking the responsibility to choose a new experience, to choose a new way, a new participation. It is through this balance of experience that we free ourselves from our past, or better to say, that fulfills our past.

Further articulating this theme is the neck and head of the serpent, held in the hand of Ophiuchus, reaching for the Northern Crown, which lies north of the Scorpion's chelae; and the stars of the Centaur, teacher of self-mastery in the physical world, which lie south of the chelae.
The Centaur teaches the right way to live to attain this evolutionary freedom. The Centaur stands over and protects the Southern Cross, which embodies the pure unadulterated essence of our soul purpose in the world--the original cardinality of the soul (also the four cardinal virtues). The theme of the Centaur and the Southern Cross are a primary part of the new Earth-Pallas synodic cycle.
Ophiuchus, standing on the Scorpion, is the demonstrable examplar who has achieved this personal mastery and evolutionary freedom. He, holding the serpent reaching (or pointing) to the Northern Crown, indicates the ideal, the goal to ultimately free self from entrapment in the clutches of the Scorpion.
This new Earth-Pallas synodic cycle's theme invites the application of our pure unadulterated intent in creative solution that supports rising beyond the otherwise potential entrapments we might step into that result in repetitive patterns of growth, or that may have karmic repercussions. It also supports us to use our creative intelligence to bring to completion any such behavioral patterns or antiquated life scenarios.
The Last Quarter Moon creates our "inner need to initiate change" in the lunar cycle as we move into the cycle's last and transitional quarter. Our Last Quarter Moon occurs on May 5-6 in sidereal Capricorn. The Moon lies in the overlap area of the constellations Capricorn and Aquarius, which create a different tone from earlier Capricorn.
"Born from the Wind"
This new portrait of the bright star-forming region NGC 346, in which different wavelengths of light swirl together like watercolours, reveals new information about how stars form. NGC 346 is located 210 000 light-years away in the Small Magellanic Cloud, a neighbouring dwarf galaxy of the Milky Way. The image is based on data from ESA XMM-Newton (X-rays; blue), ESO's New Technology Telescope (visible light; green), and NASA's Spitzer (infrared; red). The infrared light shows cold dust, while the visible light denotes glowing gas, and the X-rays represent very hot gas. Ordinary stars appear as blue spots with white centres, while young stars enshrouded in dust appear as red spots with white centres.

The Moon conjoins Cygnus X-1 and Delta Cygnus; Al Nair, Alpha Gruis; Rotanev, Beta Delphinus and Sualocin, Alpha Delphinus. The primary alignment is Al Nair of Gruis.
Cygnus X-1 marks a significant shift in sidereal Capricorn. Cygnus X-1, an eclipsing X-ray binary-star system, with an X-ray eclipse period of 5.6 days, lies in the northern heavens on the galactic equator, almost equidistant between Albireo and Sadr, in the neck of the Swan. Cyg X-1's placement on the galactic equator provides opportunity to participate and express from the intelligent maturity and truth of a self-realized conscious being rather than following whatever mass-propaganda happens to be in vogue.
Gruis the crane enters the ecliptic from the south as an underling and eloquently supportive influence to the last decan of sidereal Capricorn. The stellar influence of Gruis brings brilliance in grammatical arts, is a contributor to the excellence in law and associated disciplines requiring articulation of the written word.
The last decan of Capricorn is of libraries, courts, publishing houses, literary agencies, or where any legalities are formulated, agreed upon and concretized. Here lies the constructive character of Saturn, which is at home in Capricorn.
Gruis as the stork, is carrier of bodies of knowledge, information, and news associated with new life and new beginnings. The southern Toucan’s loquacious and gregarious qualities also underlie Gruis contributing to the expressive and articulate nature of this area of the zodiak.
Al Nair, Alpha Gruis and the northern Delphinus constellation mark the beginning of the last decan of Capricorn, while Beta Gruis and Nashira of Capricorn lie in the midst of the last decan. Al Nair conjoins Alpha and Beta Delphinus, Sualocin and Rotanev of the northern Dolphin star system. The Dolphins are angelic guides who safely make passage for the wayward. Alignments with Sualocin can indicate the need to allow ourselves to be guided, and / or expressing the guiding nature for others. Al Nair embodies the wisdom and knowledge itself, where as Beta Gruis is applicable expression of that wisdom.
Another mythical image of Gruis that aptly articulates the qualities expressing here is that by astronomer Jullius Schiller who combined the Crane with the Phoenix as "Aaron" the high priest-scientist, brother of Miriam and Moses. In its entirety, this "alternative constellation" then encompasses the last decan of Capricorn, all of Aquarius, and the first decan of Pisces. Aaron thus stands under Fomalhaut (of Pisces Aus), with his amulet of the messianic mission (the Anka, Alpha Phoenix), in support of the people; and under Achernar (end of the river). Aaron, the articulate high priest, applying his wisdom, underwrites the essence of Fomalhaut (future vision of an evolved humanitarian based society) and stands for the humanitarian vision and quality of life that Aquarius expresses. Aaron (and sister Miriam) are instrumental in freeing the people to walk the river of life. Aaron, as spokesperson for the three, stood in defense of Divine Law as an equal to the best of the authorities of the time. He was capable of communicating in intellectual prowess and demonstrating his wisdom of Divine Law, challenging the highest councils of religious political law governing Egypt.
In this imaging, Alpha Gruis, the primary star of Gruis, is Aaron’s head, which embodies the pure wisdom (wise-dome) and knowledge of the high priest. Alpha Gruis is also called "the Bright One," and as Aaron’s head, marks the crown and third eye chakras. Alpha Gruis conjoins (synthesizes with) the way-showers of the northern Dolphin star system, Delphinus. Alpha Gruis brings a capacity "to know" the way through the labyrinth of law, a way from the past, from what has been established.
Beta Gruis, I dub as Aaron’s throat chakra, his voice--expressing through Nashira of Capricorn (bringer of good news). Here we find a masterful capacity of intelligent and eloquent communication--the ability to articulate the extensive wisdom of the priest-scientist, the awareness of higher law embodied by Alpha Gruis.
We can see a progression in this lunar cycle starting with lunar theme of getting emotionally clear, removing any blockages, in order to move forward. Our First Quarter Moon then brought stimulus to express our clarity of uniqueness in genuine and open participation, without obscuring dogma or defense. Our Full Moon brought us to the Centaur's Temple, to enter a place of inner stillness to relinquish existing concepts of our selves and of our lives and to emerge with a deeper self-awareness. Our Demonstrable Moon brought us to the gate of the Zen Archer and to Galactic Center, providing motivation to live and stand for a greater truth free of false facades and false truths. Now, our Last Quarter Moon stimulates an inner need to articulate and participate from this new level of self awareness. In essence the entire lunar cycle is supportive of extracting our selves from propaganda and worldly dramatics, to shed a layer of self and to emerge into a refined level of participation. All occuring durring the Mercury retrograde, it supports a wonderful opportunity to re-define our though process and the logistics in our lives into a more organized and clear Zen-focus.
The Sun conjoins the Centaur Asbolus immediately after the Last Quarter Moon--on the day of initiating change--thus adding to our Last Quarter Moon's theme. Asbolus lives in a state of "perpetual intuitive attentiveness," able to see events from a distance (like remote viewing), specifically attentive to events where misdeeds are occurring, or where that which is private is being violated. Asbolus, the seer, responds as a protector of that which might be considered sacred to a specific group or culture, especially regarding the possessions of such a group, including the protection of land and sacred or private sites. Asbolus, with a strong sense of "right use of will" and without hesitation, will enter into a scenario where psychic-emotional confusion exists to stop such violation or disorder.
Jupiter makes its first opposition to Makemake on May 6, 2010. This is the beginning of Jupiter's prominent influence in the Makemake-Saturn-Uranus-Pluto 2008-2011 timeline. Jupiter will make its first opposition to Saturn and its first conjunction with Uranus in the following lunar cycle.
Jupiter makes three triggers during its opposition to Makemake. The second opposition occurs in early October 2010. The third opposition occurs in early January 2011, at the same time as the final Jupiter-Uranus conjunction.
The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn 180° from looking back over the past cycle and look forward toward the next cycle to come.
The Balsamic Moon occurs on May 9-10 in sidereal Pisces. It conjoins Diphda of Cetus, Eta Horologium and Eta Cepheus.
Diphda (Beta) of Cetus the sea monster is the thrashing tail of the technobureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness; the Kraken in the story of Andromeda and the Royal family. Diphda creates a strong emotional turbulence, bringing the potential to get knocked down and thrashed around due to the inability to lift one's self (fly) above (Algenib-wing of Pegasus) the dramatics of the intense psycho-emotional forces of the human world. The stars of Cetus comprise a principal part of the theme of sidereal Pisces.
Eta Horologium is the pendulum clock and brings a sense of impeding time; that there is no time to waste. Eta Cepheus brings the awareness that decisions must be made. 'Guess its time to see if we made some progress in this lunar cycle. The seed of this lunar cycle coalesces, summing this cycle up, and our attention turns in anticipation toward the next Lunar Cycle.
Mercury completes is retrograde on May 11, fully commencing the new 116-day Earth-Mercury (Full Moon) synodic cycle.
One more event occurs in the last phase of this lunar cycle: The Sun conjoins Sedna in late sidereal Aries on May 12.
The Sun and Sedna conjunction marks the midpoint of vision and realization in the current Earth-Sedna synodic cycle, which began on November 13, 2009, just before the first Saturn-Pluto square of November 15, 2009. The theme of this cycle was presented in the October 18, 2009 Lunar Planner.
Sedna is a slow mover, so it is mere fraction of a degree further from where it was on the November 2009 synod. The Sun-Sedna conjunction can prove to be a good time to gain more insight into Sedna's astrological nature.
Our next New Moon occurs on May 13-14, 2010, just past Sedna in late sidereal Aries. More to come then.
