Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are—our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.

The stars would not be in the heavens
if we were meant to walk in darkness.

The purpose of the Lunar Planner is to learn to live in the experiential awareness of the present. Although the material below can provide philosophical context for your personal experience, the New Moon is the ideal time to experientially "tune in" to get your personalized lunar month's theme. Then, consciously participate with the changing Lunar Phase Characteristics in the unfoldment of that theme in your daily life using the Lunar Calendar and Lunar Planner Introduction (links at the bottom).

About Synodic Cycles

Synodic Cycles are created when two (or more) planets align in their orbits around the Sun. The synodic cycle theme, defined by the planets involved and the star alignments at the time, will unfold until the two planets align again, marking the completion of the synodic cycle and the beginning of the next one.

There are many synodic cycles with unique astrological themes occurring simultaneously, creating a harmonic symphony of creative unfoldment in consciousness. Synodic cycles can be thought of as longer-term underlying currents, much like the backdrop chorus of a symphony, providing the underlying astrological context guiding our evolution as a collective.

Surrender & Play

The end of this phase is also the end of the entire Lunar Cycle. It leads into the next New Moon. The day before the New Moon is a time to surrender in order to allow the next Lunar Theme to sprout in its purity. Let go of all fears, worries, and self-judgment. Become empty. This is a great time to just play and have fun.

Expressing a New Theme

A new theme emerges. A new idea, a new concept sprouts forth. This is an inner message, an impulse expressing from a field of all possibilities deep within the unconscious mind. Often this process is one of discovery, slowly revealing a simple theme over a day or two, or it may be quite clear and specific, a spontanious message, even suggesting a major life change. The New Moon is a perfect time for meditation or a quite walk—to go within self and listen. A simple word or phrase may pop into your mind during this quite time describing the new lunar theme in a way that is unique to you, or perhaps a simple feeling or knowing will come over you. The ability to listen, honor and trust the inner is all that is required at this time. The ideal time to attune to your New Moon theme is exactly as the New Moon occurs, or at sunrise after the New Moon if the New Moon occurred during the night.

The New Moon

This July 16, 2015 UT (July 15 MST) New Moon conjoins Pollux of the Gemini Twins; Gomeisa of Canis Minor; Mucida of the Great Bear; and Wezen of Canis Major.

New Moon Star Chart

The Gemini Twins are marked by the two principal stars, Pollux, the immortal extraterrestrial one, and Castor the mortal terrestrial one, the extraterrestrial incarnate. These two stars, which mark the Twins’ heads, lie in the last few degrees of sidereal Gemini, with Pollux at the cusp of sidereal Cancer. The Twins stand upon the galactic equator at a 60° angle to the ecliptic plane, with the “Feet of the Twins” lying in earlier Gemini, upon the “Gate of Man”. Thus, Gemini is a galactic constellation and an ecliptical constellation, which inspires the expression of soul purpose through the daily activity of humankind—the theme of the Gate of Man. Sidereal Gemini is of high intensity intellectual communication, information, commerce, goods and services, and of their exchange. The Twins are of partnerships in mutual cooperation participating in the human world, linking and uniting through their daily affairs in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind.

Although the Twins are of communication and human betterment, they have in some legend been at odds with each other, a bit argumentative. Here is the Gemini trait of competitiveness, debate, arbitration, and negotiation, but ultimately leading to agreement and solution.

The theme of the Twins was also expressed by Romulus and Remus, the founders and guardians of Rome. They were the immortal and mortal sons of Zeus in Greek mythology; and who, along with Hercules, were part of the crew of the Argo—seeing to the fulfillment of the evolutionary mission of the soul. The Twins are of partnerships in mutual cooperation participating in the human world, linking and uniting through their daily affairs in the world. The Twins work hand-in-hand for the betterment and evolutionary fulfillment of humankind.

Castor is the liaison in the world of daily human affairs, and is of partnerships and cooperation. Castor brings resources and people together that serve to get logistics accomplished in the world of business and commerce; whereas Pollux brings a greater awareness to the efforts of Castor, uniting individuals, groups and factions with concern for the greater evolutionary fulfillment of all parties. Pollux imparts more of an intuitive awareness, whereas Castor has more of an intellectual emphasis. Pollux can be considered the ambassador, orator, link, and liaison regarding more spiritual, evolutionary and extraterrestrial matters, compared to Castor's role as a terrestrial colleague applied in business and management of daily human affairs. Pollux portends success, eminence and renown.

Procyon is the Babylonian “Kakkab Paldara,” which means “Star of the Crossing.” It is one of the five stars creating the “Egyptian X” with Betelgeuse of Orion, Naos of the Argo, Phaet of Columba the Dove, and with the center star Sirius—the Great World Teacher. In classic astrology, Procyon portends wealth, renown, and good fortune. Conjoining Pollux of Gemini (the ambassador), Procyon inspires our allegiance to a greater cause, purpose, or faction. Procyon inspires us to ally with another or with a group to achieve a greater purpose than we could achieve alone. The desert Arabs knew Sirius and Procyon as “Al Ahawat al Suhail”—the (radiant, glorious, and beautiful) sisters of Canopus: thus recognizing all three to be associated with the fulfillment of souls’ greater evolutionary purpose. Gomeisa is the assistant to Procyon, which also conjoins Pollux and which marks the sidereal Gemini-Cancer cusp. Gomeisa can indicate those with special expertise in the area of negotiation and communication, sometimes those that assist such efforts behind the scenes.

Muscida, the nose of the Great Bear, conjoins Pollux the ambassador. Muscida imparts a highly intuitive sense for the diversity of all life, as well as for their conditions and needs. Muscida bestows an intuitive capacity to the efforts of Pollux.

Aludra, Wezen, and Adhara lie under latter sidereal Gemini and early Cancer, and create the hindquarter of the Canis Major. Although of this Sirian constellation, Aludra and Wezen are a pair of their own class. They lie much further in distance than the other stars thus being of their own realm. Aludra served Hipparchus to make his famous astronomical reckoning about the precession of the equinoxes. Aludra is also the only star of the constellation that lies across the Gemini-Cancer cusp. Both stars are more associated with cuspal and early Cancer, and the themes of Pollux and Procyon. Wezen marks an opening or doorway, and impels a welcoming of diverse groups or parties of unique of different origin to work together for a greater cause.

Public relations and liaison articulates the nature of this lunar cycle. It inspires linking individuals together in larger groups or organizations that can serve a purpose far greater than the separate parties can accomplish alone. It is ideal for communication and negotiations, and for the coordination and exchange of resources and information between individuals and groups, and the planning of more encompassing joint ventures. Also be intuitively attentive to unique opportunities, events or people.

Releasing Restricting Patterns

Just prior to the first Crescent Moon, we can realize the opportunity for growth that the Lunar Cycle has to offer. What surfaces now is: How I would have done this in the past, the old or established ways, based on past experience. Here we have the opportunity to let go of any limiting or restricting thought patterns, much like sluffing off the protective sheath of a seed now beginning to sprout, as that sheath would only limit the unfoldment of the new theme and our own growth. The Crescent Moon marks the time when the theme would like to grow into a more expansive form. By consciously honoring, accepting in love, and letting go of our old concepts, we allow ourselves to move forth into the expansive growing phase of the Lunar Cycle.

Beginning the Growing Phase of the Lunar Cycle
Expanding upon the Theme

This is a time when the currently held vision begins to expand into a greater form. New possibilities of unfoldment would like to grow—possibilities not realized before. This 3 1/2 day Growng Phase is a time of engaging our creativity and integrating it with the original theme, identifying its unique and full potential. It is a time of allowing a realistic and achievable plan of action to evolve, a time of inspiration, and a time to have faith in ours creative process.

The Crescent Moon
Expanding on the Theme

Crescent Moon

The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the lunar theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past and emerges in a new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.

The Crescent Moon occurs on July 19 (July 20 UT) in Leo and conjoining Zosma and Chort of Leo; and Suhail Velorum of Vela, the sail of Argo Navis. Overseeing is Mizar of the Great Bear.

Zosma, Chort and Denebola are a triangle of stars that form the hind of the Lion, with Denbola marking the tail. Zosma and Chort can indicate inherited conditions or the passage or bestowal of honors, rewards or position attained through personal achievement on to younger generations, especially offspring. They can also manifest as emotional distress and agitation, often due to physical toxic congestion, which can also result in a depressed state of mind or view upon life, as well chronic health conditions, generally abdominal and intestinal. Alignments here can also indicate a need to clear any accumulated toxicity in a variety of areas of our lives.

Mizar of the Great Bear, Zeta Ursa Major, is the overseeing and predominant star of this area of the zodiak. Mizar, and its companion Alcor, articulates raw fiery energy that must express one way or another. Mizar must have a creative outlet, but for its proper expression, we must apply it with clear creative vision. Mizar brings attention to the use of our creative energies, our creative and destructive tendencies, and the fear to create lest it may result in destruction. Here we learn the nature of such volatile forces. Mizar, with averted alignments, is also known for catastrophic fires or massacres. Mizar can however express quite artistically—just as gunpowder can express as beautiful fireworks or devastating explosions. Mizar tends to express in a grand way, in character with showy and dramatic Leo. Mizar imparts a dynamic, action oriented creative artistic expression.

Vela Supernova Remnant in Visible Light

The Argo, in the southern heavens, is divided into several sub-constellations. The stars of the sail of the Argo, Vela, which lie under the first half of sidereal Leo and the northern dynamics of Ursa Major and the world powers, are of subtle evolutionary currents, forces, and portals transcendent to the stage of the temporal world. Because the stars and x-ray sources of Vela lie upon the galactic equator and south of the ecliptic, they are of soul's transcendent evolutionary purpose and mission.

Suhail Velorum articulates the nature of the Sail of the Argo—of the elegant and subtle evolutionary currents guiding the plane (ship or craft) of the soul. "Suhail, among the Persians, is synonymous for wisdom; as in the Al Anwar i Suhaili, the Lights of Canopus. Also a personal title taken in Arabia as a symbol for what is brilliant, glorious, and beautiful—and even by the Arab nomads it is still used when referring to a handsome person" (Allen)—hence the general attractiveness of the true Leo.

Our Crescent Moon expands upon our Pollux Lunar Theme. This is a windy and fiery area of the zodiak, one that can stimulate dynamic creative expression, yet it is easy to be misled in our actions if we are not clear within self and set our course. It is easy to become diverted by any dramatic whirlwind or diversionary tactics occurring in the world around us. Our opportunity is to attune to subtler guiding currents that can guide us in right action and in the right direction, currents that are in harmony with accomplishing our greater pursuits in life.

External Stimulus

Just before first-quarter moon, we draw an external stimulus to ourselves. This is some event outside of self occurring in our lives or in the world that impels a challenge to act on the creative ideas we have been evolving. The external stimulus provides the impetus to move forth from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. This is a time when any fears or doubts hidden within may surface to be embraced. To move forward through the I can’ts and the reasons why not is to move through our own limitations into a new level of self-empowerment. Not stepping into action results in opportunity lost and no growth. Many people drop the ball at this point in the lunar cycle. Don't be one.

Initiate Action

Now is the time to drop all hesitation and take the steps to move forth on what you were inspired about. The inspiration is now gone, it is time to now participate in trust and knowing. Remember, the flower that is about to burst forth from the bud is not yet visible. Trust in the process. Demonstrate this trust in physical action and you will be supported. The creative tension brought forth by the external stimulus now shifts into opportunity and unfoldment. This is a time for practical application of your talents. This time is stressful or traumatic only if action is ignored. What you are putting together now is the groundwork for the manifestation of the theme. Simply, this phase is a time to work.

First Quarter Moon
Initiate Action

First Quarter Moon

The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our First Quarter Moon occurs on July 23 (July 24 UT) in early sidereal Libra as the Sun and Mercury conjoin opposite Ceres. The Moon conjoins Miaplacidus and Theta Carina of Argo Navis; Muhlifain of Centaurus; and the Centaurus X-3 Neutron Star.

Theta Carina Cluster

The European Southern Observatory (ESO) released a magnificent VLT image of the giant stellar nursery surrounding NGC 3603 (conjoining Theta Carina), in which stars are continuously being born. Embedded in this scenic nebula is one of the most luminous and most compact clusters of young, massive stars in our Milky Way, which therefore serves as an excellent “local” analogue of very active star-forming regions in other galaxies. The cluster also hosts the most massive star to be “weighed” so far.

Theta Carina lies slightly south of the Galactic Equator on the keel of the Argo, Theta emits a peculiar spectrum, showing it to be a silicon-rich star, which is an anomaly. It has an estimated luminosity of about 22,000 times that of our Sun. Theta also has an obscure name, "Vathorz Posterior" (of Old Norse-Latin origin), which means "Succeeding One of the Waterline," referring to the Galactic Equator upon which the Argo sails. Theta Carina is the prominent member of the Theta Carina Star Cluster, a bright open cluster of about 60 stars. The Theta Carina Cluster is sometimes referred to as the Southern Pleiades due to its resemblance. Slightly north of Theta Carina, along the galactic equator, is a giant stellar nursery surrounding the nebula NGC 3603, one of most compact clusters of young, massive stars in our galaxy.

Theta Carina is a part of the Diamond Cross of Argo Navis, formed and headed by the prominent star Miaplacidus (Beta), along with Theta, Upsilon and Omega Carina. It, like the Southern Cross, does not have a central star in the center, thus forming a diamond more so than a cross. You must be south of 20° north latitude on Earth to see it. The Diamond forms the keel and hold of the Argo. These stars inspire designing and establishing the structural stability in our lives that support our evolutionary fulfillment. The Diamond also inspires mapping for special places, sites, centers, as well as the proper timing for this effort.

Miaplacidus, Beta Carina, is the second most important star of the Argo, after Canopus. "Mia" is of greater universal flowing waters of Source and "Placidus" is of grid-navigational-mapping. Miaplacidus involves the navigational mapping of cosmic evolutionary currents—evolutionary intelligence and how it expresses in time and space. Miaplacidus is of Astronomical-Earthgrid mapping, navigation, inner-dimensional travel, and related art-sciences and environments that support our greater evolutionary journeys in life. Living at or traveling to the right locations at the proper times in our lives is of significance to be in proper (space-time) harmony. The purpose of sacred geometry, naturally tuned architecture, and the art-sciences involving harmonics and resonance are all of significance here—many of the art-sciences that have been obscured, suppressed or lost to humanity—including the integrated knowledge of astronomy and astrology and its application in cartographical mapping on the Earth in space and time.

As Miaplacidus inspires action, movement, and the administration of evolutionary navigational matters, Theta Carina and the Theta Carina Star Cluster are of knowledge, secrets, record keeping, writing, and the articulation of intelligence regarding navigational matters and transcendent evolutionary currents. Theta imparts a bountiful influence in these areas.

Miaplacidus also synthesizes with Syrma of Virgo, Delta Bootes and the Quasar OQ 172 of Bootes, and Gamma and Iota of Centaurus, which all amalgamate and inspire transcendence into our inner-core awareness or “near-field,” which in turn unlocks the bounds of being frozen or stretched in space-time, in a mode of trying to release the past to get to the future, and which keeps us looking outside of self to acquire what we do not have in order to attain our fulfillment.

Miaplacidus, and the stars of Carina's Diamond inspire us to find and ensure a harmonious environment in space and time (where to be when) for the pursuit of our life purpose and our greater evolutionary fulfillment and wellbeing.

Centaurs X-3, an X-ray emitting pulsar with a period of 4.84 seconds, lies exactly on the galactic equator above the Theta Carina Star Cluster, and about 1° north of NGC 3603. Cen X-3 adds to the theme of Theta Carina and contributes significantly to the theme of early sidereal Libra and the Diamond of the Argo.

Cen X-3 imparts a transcendent guiding neurological impulse that incites a natural attraction toward harmony and beauty that is life promoting at a deep meditative level of consciousness.

Here we may find unique events or portals occurring in space and time that can change our evolutionary experience and destiny if we are willing to transcend logistical mind and function from deeper levels of awareness, much like lucid dreaming. Opportunities presented here allow us to walk away from the mundane, from what is established in our lives, from what seems to make sense to onlookers. They require a leap into the void with the knowing there are subtle but greater soul-level currents that can carry us to our fulfillment. Learning to move in intimate trust and harmony with these forces is a key dynamic of this part of the zodiak, and thus of our stimulus to action First Quarter Moon.

The New Ceres Synodic Cycle

The Sun, Earth and Ceres align on July 25, under the auspices of Altair of Aquila, initiating a new Ceres 1.25-year cycle. Additional conjoining stars include Alshain and Tarazed of Aquila; Alberio of Cygnus; and Sham and Beta of Sagitta, the missile. Also contributing are Anser of Vulpecula, Algedi of Capricorn, and the stars of Indus and Microscopium.

Note: This is also the location of Pluto in the U.S. Chart. Thus, the Ceres retrograde is transiting the U.S. Pluto.

Ceres Animation

Ceres Animation

Due to her size and spherical shape, Ceres was reclassified as a “dwarf planet” in Aug 2006, along with Pluto and Eris—appropriately honoring Ceres to be the mother of the asteroids; and now places a “planet” in the orbital location where a planet should lie—in this case along with her many children.

Ceres, the mother of the main asteroids, brings awareness to how we nurture and to that which is truly nurturing to us. Ceres Ceres embodies mothering and agricultural qualities and brings attention to our relation with the Earth, the land, agriculture, the environment and the seasons. Ceres is associated with food, clothing and that which shelters and protects. Due to Ceres association with the land and the environment, Ceres is often prominent in charts associated with environmental changes or events. Ceres reveals our ability to be in universal flow—the unification of giving and receiving as one flow of energy through ourselves. Ceres asks for acknowledgment of our inner needs, to have self love and self worth. Ceres is of concern and caring for others as well as for the Earth. Ceres is associated with fertility, the womb and stomach. Ceres' placement in the astrological chart reveals the areas of our lives where we seek nurturing and also where we tend to provide nurturing.

Potential Ceres issues include: fear of abundance, lack and material struggle; low self esteem; unworthiness; abandonment / rejection issues expressing as attachment to people and things, manipulation of loved ones, over-attachment to siblings, possessiveness, and control of siblings or of one’s creations; mother-child complexes; and barrenness. More about Ceres.

This video of Ceres was made from images as NASA Dawn spacecraft entered its first mapping orbit of Ceres. Dawn is currently in its second mapping orbit. Images will become increasingly detailed as each additional orbit brings Dawn closer to the surface.

Aquila, the northern Eagle, perched high above the Earth, is of removed stillness and has astute observation too detail. The Eagle is of equilibrium and poise, with global vision and local purpose. As the Eagle sits high upon its perch, with eyes capable of focusing on the most minute detail, it assesses, examines, and awaits its opportunity. Removed and alone, the Eagle embodies the willingness to examine our deepest emotions and hidden but true feelings; to pin-point our pursuits from objective balance, and to then dive into the world with surety and boldness. Generally the stars of Aquila are of applied personal force and power expressed with fierce eloquence and graceful beauty.

Bald Eagle

Bald Eagle - Credit/Source: NASA/Rothstein

Altair, eye of the eagle, Alshain (Beta) and Tarazed (Gamma), are of global and extraterrestrial vision and of the balance of power. Spinning at an astonishing rate, Altair inspires us to perceive from a global or extraterrestrial perspective; not merely from a local, isolated view, and also with a focus of precision detail. In classical astrology, Altair is of assertive authoritarian militaristic leadership, of military force and power. In more esoteric terms, Altair is also of extraterrestrial Earth-based operations and involvement—administer of the “Earth-based Eagle Command.”

The first decan of sidereal Capricorn articulates a diversely-intented group of individuals and associated levels of consciousness, those either covert, manipulative and driven from self-interest (as the character of the old business & military paradigms), and those spiritually aware, of integrity and who are attuned to the land and the environment, including shamans and keepers of sacred knowledge and sacred ways.

Here we find native indigenous peoples, often ornately dressed or adorned.
This is the world of the shamanistic, the ceremonial, fanaticism, obsession, and passion. Although seemingly driven from personal motive, it is often of those with global vision and interest. Either way, surface appearances, cloaks and facades often shroud who is who in an aura of mystery; cloaks often used as strategic tools to serve one’s deeper hidden motive.

Early sidereal Capricorn is of hermetism, esoterism, magic, and various areas of esoteric knowledge and science, also of covert technologies as well as the secret places and orders associated with them. These can include military-scientific-extraterrestrial bases, hermitages, exclusive retreats, or isolated places with a spiritual focus—including sacred sites or places of power under the care of their mysterious stewards, or merely places of personal retreat and seclusion—but places strategic to one’s purpose. We also find an arsenal of strategic tools (technological or magikal), to either aid or control humanity as well as the skill to use them; and this includes our personal tools and assets. How we use what we have is up to us.

This is also where an eloquent and artful play of seduction and consent co-exists; but also one that can be insidiously cunning or even voraciously violent. Hear lies the nature of the tools of business and war: the interplay of people in their sexy disguises, whether cloaked in the eloquent and sleek stealth jet, particle beam laser based satellites; or merely dressed in seductive leather and lace. Microscopic discernment is required to see through the alluring facades inherent in this world of mystery, esoteric knowledge, personal motive, and covert maneuvers, to identify what is truly nurturing verses what just tantalizingly appears to be so.

This Ceres synod in this location in the heavens, and the following 1.2-year cycle, may seem somewhat paradoxical but is quite to the point, as it brings attention to the use of militaristic force and to the extreme arsenals of weapons of war, while impelling us to examine how this is nourishing to and caring for humanity, the land and the environment. It also impels those beneficent beings, both terrestrial and our extraterrestrial friends, to shift the focus of humanity's destructive tendencies to one that is constructive, that cares for all life and that has concern for future generations to come. This cycle could not be more timely, as a dramatic shift in the use of power on Earth is imminently essential.

On a personal level, this cycle invites us to participate with global awareness, and to apply our unique attributes, talents and tools in ways that nourish all life, and that ensure the healthy wellbeing of our environment, agriculture, food and all that sustains life. Think globally and act locally.

Venus Retrograde & the New Venus Synodic Cycle

Regulus and the Sun

Venus is the Roman name for the Greek Aphrodite, goddess of love, grace, beauty and sexual rapture. Venus has also been called the "jewel of the sky"; "Eosphorus as the morning star and Hesperus as the evening star"; from a modern day astronomer's view, "Earth's sister planet"; and from an astrologer's view, the "compliment to Mars."

Other cultural names for Venus include: the Babylonian Ishtar; the Syro-Palestinian goddess Ashtart; the Aztec: Tlahuizcalpantecuhtli (meaning "Lord of the House of Dawn."), an apparition of Quetzalcoatl, the feathered serpent; the Maya: Kukulcan (Venus was the Mayan patron of warfare, with several battles coinciding with significant Venus alignments); and the Norse Sif, noted for her "conjugal fidelity."

Image: Aphrodite (circa 100 BC): Found on the Aegean island of Melos in 1820.

The astrophysical resonances of Venus govern the heart bio-energy centre (chakra), and the thymus, which is the neurological control center for the immune system. Like the thyroid (governed by Mercury) is reflexed to the liver, the thymus is reflexed to the spleen. The heart chakra is our centre of intuitive knowing, harmony, magnetic attraction, that which we value, love, romance, and sexual rapture. It is where we find our capacity for compassion and appreciation of beauty. Venus manifests in our lives as a force of attraction and receptivity. Our heart resonance defines the nature of what we allow into our lives. The more we radiate a clear, open and truthful heart resonance, the clearer our force of attraction becomes, thus naturally drawing into our lives that which fulfills the heart. The heart chakra and thymus resonate to the emotional tone of fear and judgment. It is fear that shuts the heart down and causes all immune related problems as well as conditions of lack and need. We defend our fear with judgment, which is the wall that keeps us separate from being fulfilled. The astrophysical resonances of Venus also govern heart musculature and firing, lungs, bronchiole, and breasts.

Venus (and the heart chakra), when mature and clear, expresses love in art and beauty, with a wonderful capacity for unconditional acceptance of all conditions—true, non-judgmental love. The unconditionally open heart receives and expresses love that is harmoniously balanced. Mature Venus is open to new experience, is courageous, optimistic, and aware of soul intent and purpose—as the unconditionally open heart is where soul fully radiates its light. Mature Venus is also sociable, fashionable, artistic, good willed, benevolent, diplomatic, and magnetically sensuous. Venus is also of what we value, thus influencing wealth and resources in our lives and she can play an influential role in financial matters and the flow of money.

Venus stations to begin its retrograde conjoining Regulus of Leo at the same time as the Ceres synod. The entire Venus retrograde occurs under the auspices of the Head of the Lion and over the paw of the Lion. The retrograde continues through September 6, during which a new 1.6-year Earth-Venus synodic cycle begins, also with an 8-year sub-cycle due to the pentagonal pattern that Venus creates with Earth. The new Venus cycle begins on August 15, just after the next New Moon, contributing significantly to the next lunar month's theme. The retrograde of Venus impels an inward journey of the heart. It is a time of reassessing and redefining our values, of evaluating what is of true worth in our lives, materially, spiritually, and in our relationships. It is a time of shifting from the previous Venus cycle into the next. The previous Venus synodic cycle was presented in the January 1, 2014 Lunar Planner. This previous synod conjoined Castor and Pollux, exactly 2° before the location of our current New Moon.

In addition, this Venus retrograde cycle is extra magnanimous and provides an exceptional opportunity for tremendous growth to expand and elevate our values, our capacity to be receptive, and to break trail into new realms of love and compassion, due to its triple conjunction with Jupiter. The Venus-Jupiter conjunction began on July 1, in the previous lunar cycle. The second conjunction occurs during its retrograde on August 4, and it completes, after Venus returns direct, with its third conjunction occurring on October 25, 2015. This is when we will be impelled to fully externalize and mobilize the growth gained during the retrograde in our lives and in our world.

Key points of the retrograde:

• Retrograde station conjoining Regulus
• Sun-Venus conjunction (anti-synod) conjoining Rasalas, Algenubi and Subra, and Tania of the Great Bear
• Retrograde loop around Subra, paw of the Lion
• Direct station conjoining Zeta Hydra and Acubens of Cancer
• All overseen by Dubhe (Alpha) and Merak (Beta) of the Great Bear

The Lion faces west, with its head looking over into sidereal Cancer, with Algieba (the mane), Adhafera (on the crest of the mane), Rasalas (the crown), and Algenubi (the eye) all composing the Lion's head. The star Subra, just south of the ecliptic and on the Cancer-Leo cusp, is the Lion's paw buried in the desert sand. Regulus (at 5° Leo) is considered the Heart or Essence of the Lion, which conjoins Algieba.

The stars forming the Head of the Lion embody the wisdom of the Lion. They express in eloquence, beauty and nobleness. Adhafera and Al Jabhah articulate the wisdom and mind of the Lion, the Lion’s persona and how the Lion thinks—perhaps with a sense of aloneness yet with audacious and undaunted confidence, and with genuine pride.

Algenubi, Eye of the Lion, is of vision to break new trail. Rasalas, the crown imparts extraordinary accomplishment. These are stars of visionaries, explorers, pioneers, and adventurers with little interest or contentment to merely fit in with those performing on the worldly stage. These people seek to go beyond the norm in accomplishment. They are undaunted in the face of perilous explorations and are proud to demonstrate it. These are trailblazers, those willing to leave the comfort of mass-consensus, who are self-reliant to step forth into unexplored territory, the ones who seek a better way to live and are able to envision new horizons, those who seek to discover new possibilities waiting to be realized.

Often time the work of these adventures and trailblazers is rarely seen until others later follow or make popular that which they have found, or until time itself brings the future into the present awareness of the masses. These way-showers are sometimes long gone, continuing over the next horizon, rarely to be seen. They may or may not be recognized for their tremendous, relentless and lonely pursuits, and they may or may not become famous, but the roads and doorways they open pave the way for others to come, and make possible future generations’ evolutionary unfoldment.

The Retrograde Station

Regulus, Alpha Leo, is "Chief or King of the Four Royal Stars" (Regulus Fomalhaut, Aldebaran, and Antares). Throughout antiquity Regulus was associated with royalty and kings (the colors royal blue and gold).

Copernicus named Alpha Leo Regulus, which is Latin for "prince" or "little king." The Babylonians knew it as the "Lion's Heart" and as the "Kingly Star." It was know to the earlier Akkadians of Mesopotamia as the "King of the Celestial Sphere," who ruled before the Great Flood. (Jim Kaler)4

Regulus and the Sun

This computer model shows Regulus (left) and the Sun as they would appear side by side. Here, Regulus is tilted so that its axis, denoted by the dotted line, is near horizontal. Credit: CHARA/GSU/H.McAllister

Its name is also given as "The Regulus" or "The Rex," meaning the "Law Giver." Regulus is considered the governing king of the four royals for several reasons. It lies almost exactly upon the ecliptic, thus, once a year around Aug 22-23, during Earth's orbit around the Sun, the Sun occults Regulus. Residing at 5° sidereal Leo, Regulus is the only one of the four royal stars prominently aspecting the fixed axis of Earth's Precessional Cross (the Gate of God at 5° Sag and the Gate of Man at 5° Gemini), both in longitude and in latitude. The Rex is therefore a foundational star insuring integrity and order.

On a personal level, Regulus is about our inner "vertical integrity," that is, living true to self, openly on the world stage. This means walking in confidence and with self-respect, aligned with the truth in our hearts, in thought, word, and deed. Our personal integrity, our inner vertical attunement, must precede any horizontal, humanitarian participation in the world (Leo's opposite Aquarian pole). Without this inner integrity we become self-sacrificing, entrapped in a sympathetic resonance of dance, giving self away at the cost of our hearts' truth. This perpetuates discord and dysfunction for self and for others because we are simply living a lie. Only by living from our personal integrity and true to heart do we provide opportunity for others to also stand in their integrity and live their truth. On the other side of coin, without the maturity of acknowledging the Aquarian polarity, we can become ego-driven, where it is all about “I” without caring or concern for others.

Regulus is of prominence, eminence, nobility, royalty, pride, courage, pioneering pursuits, self-reliance, independence, and influential leadership. Regulus impels the desire to create order and a dynamic pursuit to win, to be on top. Significant alignments with Regulus often indicate those with a prominent role in the global arena or who are in the limelight upon stage.

Conjoining Regulus is the Seyfert Galaxy NGC 3227 of Leo, which lies next to Algieba, the mane of the Lion, and expresses the power and wisdom of the Lion—from the passion of an integrated head and heart. This Seyfert produce a dynamic and outgoing expression, common to those prominently on stage and of people who demonstrably live their passion.

The Retrograde Loop

Subra, marking the sidereal Cancer-Leo cusp, is the paw of the Lion impressed in the desert sand. Subra is of prints, tracks, plans, codices and ancient maps—clues to hidden trails and paths obscured by the sands of time. Subra indicates a discovery process is at hand, one leading to the secret chambers, entryways, even to liftoff sites of the gods—places hidden from ordinary view. Simply, Subra asks that we dig, explore, uncover, and find a new way to navigate the passage that leads to living from the integrity and passion of out hearts, that which Regulus, the essence of the Lion, embodies.

Additional stars contributing to Subra's theme include Al Sumut and the additional stars of Pyxis; and the very southern Alpha Pictoris. Also influencing are Alphard of Hydra and Suhail al Muhlif of Vela, Argo Navis.

Pyxis, a sub-constellation of the Argo, means the compass, but more so articulates the Crow's Nest the mast of the Argo. The stellar qualities of Pyxidis ask us to peer far beyond the common world to navigate through potential problems or obstacles upon our exploration. Pyxis inspires us to take an abode, place, vantage, or perspective from which we can see and find distant lands. Pyxis indicates a process, one that requires patience, foresight, and perceptual attentiveness. Although this often is a lonely process, it is one serving our greater evolutionary journey, and as well, the journeys of our colleagues and companions. The Pyxis oriented person has little interest in superfluous pursuits of the common world, always seeking new ground, looking forward, gazing ahead through time, to see through the present limitations into the distance for what can yet become.

Also synthesizing with Subra and the stars of Pyxis is the primary star of the very southern constellation Pictoris, the Painter's Easel. Alpha Pictoris articulates a picture or scenario emerging from the æthers. This is a picture assembling itself as we break trail in our discovery process. Alpha Pictoris asks us to see the pathway or entryway emerging out of the mist covering an abyss, in the rock of a mountain side, in the billowing clouds blown by the wind, in the leaves fallen upon the ground, or simply in our mind's inner eye. Alpha Pictoris asks us to creatively assemble the signs, to read the message, to see the coalescing spirit substance yet to become, to elicit a new picture, a new life experience, from this substance.

We coalesce our experience by the mental-emotional energetic we project. To elicit a new picture in our lives, we must first align our thoughts and emotions. If, for example, we are projecting positive thoughts about what we want in our lives but also have feelings of unworthiness, or resentment that we do not have what we think we deserve, than the overall energetic we are projecting is conflictual (discordant). It this case, the response from the quantum (sub-atomic) level of reality is discordant. In other words, we have little coherent power to coalesce the sustainable life experience we want. The alignment within self to a state of mental-emotional coherency is prerequisite for a new picture to emerge in our lives—in this case bringing all aspects of ourselves into alignment with heart (Venus).

Our mental-emotional alignment is also prerequisite to bring the physical aspect of ourselves into alignment. This is the action or behavioral part of our selves. If our mental-emotional energetic is discordant then it is very difficult to change our actions, our behavior, or our physical conditions.

Alphard, Alpha Hydra, is the "Solitary One." Alphard inspires us to step away from the comfort and security of the accepted and agreed upon consensus defining our known reality, to walk a lone path. It asks us to risk our reputations, our work, our lives, and our beliefs, driven by the passion within our hearts, to find new answers to the challenges that we face in our pursuits. Alphard, in conjunction with the head of the Lion, is often of those who, for one reason or another, have self-exiled themselves from the norm, who stand alone, or are willing to, yet who create new ways that the masses would not otherwise pursue.

And finally but not least, conjoining Alphard is the very significant star Suhail al Muhlif on the sail of the Argo. The Suhail stars of Valorem, on the sail of the Argo, are always indicative of refined subtle energies or currents at work that function at the level of the soul's greater evolutionary journey—those transcendent to the dramatics of the terrestrial incarnate world. "Suhail, among the Persians, is synonymous for wisdom; as in the Al Anwar i Suhaili, the Lights of Canopus. Also a personal title taken in Arabia as a symbol for what is brilliant, glorious and beautiful." (Richard Hinckley Allen)

Suhail al Muhlif is Suhail of the Oath. Conjoining is the Pup-A Supernova Remnant of Puppis on the stern of the Argo, which enters the ecliptic just before Regulus. Both entries add a transcendent galactic (soul-level) context to the conjoining theme of Alphard of the Hydra, the solitary one, and the stars under the auspices of the head of the Lion.

Suhail al Muhlif and Pup-A are indicative of soul oaths made and set in motion long ago, of soul level missions set out upon that transcend one's incarnational sojourn—missions to open doorways and portals which allow us to reach for and achieve a greater fullness in life. The soul oaths taken are to maintain our personal integrity to our souls' directives, to see to our evolutionary fulfillment in regard to our purposes in the world—to be of the Kahi Nub of Canopus, meaning the Golden Earth—to become what is beautiful and glorious. Pup-A also provides the inspiration and motivation to demonstrably live our soul oaths and soul wisdom, to stand forth humble yet proud in that purpose.

Venus Retrograde 2015

The Venus Retrograde Opportunity

We are impelled to take this entire energetic, from Regulus, at the retrograde station, through the retrograde loop, back to redefine or re-express the energetic at the direct station.

The Direct Station

Acubens, Alpha Cancer lies next to the open star cluster M67, composed of about 500 stars, one of most ancient star clusters known (~10 billion years). Acubens and M67 expresses as a long established heritage, lineage, inheritance, birthright, or something passed down through generations. Acubens impels a need to protect, collect and nurture, also to hide and shelter, the essence of the Crab. Acubens can also articulate our entrapment in dogma. This can be the current political / religious beliefs of the times, as well as that created by our personal belief structures—the ideas we hold about our lives and the experiences we have in our lives—often inherited. Acubens can impel a tenacious and stubborn resistance to release the patterns we hold that keep us entrapped in limiting life scenarios.

Zeta Hydra lies immediately south of Acubens. Delta through Zeta Hydra and Pulsar CP0834 create Hydra's head. Zeta Hydra and surrounding stars indicate a multifarious undermining source of destruction (every time Hercules took off one the Hydra's heads, it immediately grew another). The conjunction of Acubens with the stars forming Hydra's head articulates that the repetitive undermining experiences in our lives are manifest from our own tenacious belief structures, and they are not easily eradicated, much like pealing the layers of an onion to get to its core.

Overseeing are Dubhe (Alpha) and Merak (Beta) of Ursa Major, The Great Bear. Ursa Major lies north of the Scarab (Crab) and the Lion. Ursa Major extends west over sidereal Cancer, and slightly east just into the cusp of sidereal Virgo. Ursa Major’s wide variety of stars express into the ecliptic throughout these two signs, Leo and Cancer. The Stars of the Great Bear are often associated with the global scene and world powers. They reveal the diverse dynamic of primary governing forces in our lives and provide lessons as well as inspiration for all of humanity.

Dubhe and Merak are the pointers to Earth’s current North Star, Polaris of the Little Bear, Ursa Minor. This alignment brings attention to caring for the young and impel us to seek a greater vision for future generations to come.

Dubhe, the primary (Alpha) star of the Great Bear, is the principal and overseeing star in this area of the heavens. Dubhe impels us to pursue a greater vision beyond the accepted political-religious-big-business dogmas of the human world that keep humanity in darkness and delusion. Dhube impels those whose interest is the greater welfare and nourishment of the people to take a stand against the totalitarian elite whose intent is in dominating, suppressing and controlling humanity.

At a personal level, Dubhe impels us to emerge from our own personal belief structures and limiting life patterns that keep us bound in life scenarios that are less than those we truly want. Dubhe inspires us to do all we can to achieve the greater vision that we hold for our lives—for the true nourishment, fulfillment, and freedom we seek. Dubhe supports us to strive for a new and better future rather than merely staying reactive to the limitations we have already created and reinforce with our existing beliefs.

Merak inspires the administration of Dubhe's theme—to assertively pursue the manifestation of a greater vision for Earth and humanity. Merak impels dynamic action, simply, to get on with it. Also conjoining Merak is the hind-foot of the Great Bear composed of Tania Bor. and Tania Aus., which brings a strong sense of the power of conviction—that which propels us beyond our current, accepted stance in life, beyond what has been achieved before. This is a power point in the zodiak; a place to leave the comforts of our existing reality behind and to confidently surge into new and unexplored territory.

Our Venus retrograde impels us first to redefine our values and realign ourselves to heart. It then impels to do all we can to achieve a greater vision for the evolutionary freedom and fulfillment that we seek—freedom from the dogmas, both collective and personal, that keep us entrapped in our patterns of the past and in an old world paradigm. On the global scene, this can stimulate action toward governments by the people living from the courage, personal integrity and conviction of the heart to evolve a new vision that is truly nurturing to the people, one that supports their greater freedom and wellbeing rather than tenaciously adhering to methods of government bureaucracies and big business that serve special interests and clandestine plans to control and manipulate the masses.

The Venus Synod and the new Venus 1.6-year Synodic Cycle

Planetary Synods are seen looking from the Sun. For the inner planets, Venus and Mercury, this means the synods star alignments are in the opposite side of the ecliptic from where we see the Sun-Venus or Sun-Mercury conjunctions looking from Earth. The theme of the Venus synod brings perspective to and compliments the entire Venus retrograde, and it imparts the underlying current set in motion throughout the new Venus 1.6-year synodic cycle.

The synod occurs in the midst of the retrograde on August 15, 2015, on the following New Moon. The synodic theme begins to engage as Venus returns direct on September 6, 2015, and fully engages as it passes the location of the Sun-Venus conjunction.

Earth-Venus Synod 2015 Star Chart

This synod occurs in very late sidereal Capricorn, at the cusp of sidereal Aquarius. The pentagonal pattern of Venus synods repeat every 8 years, regressing (moving westward) through the ecliptic ever so slightly, by about 2°. The primary conjoining stars include Nashira and Deneb Algedi of Capricorn; Sadalsuud of Aquarius; Beta, Delta and Gruis. This is also the exalted location for Mars in the ecliptic. Also of influence is the supergiant star Sadr of northern Cygnus (not shown), which marks the cusp of sidereal Aquarius.

The stars of the constellation of Aquarius overlap those of late sidereal Capricorn, which start to create the shift from the covert and personal interest of earlier Capricorn toward the expanded humanitarian interest we experience in Aquarius. This shift fully occurs under the auspices of Sadr,. The Aquarian cusp is marked by the wings of Cygnus the Swan. The southern wing extends from Sadr, the heart or breast of the Swan, to Gienah, to Zeta, in early Aquarius. Surrounding Sadr is the Gamma Cygni Nebula; and the beautiful Lacework Nebula, which resides upon the wing, near Gienah. The northern wing extends from Sadr to Delta and Kappa Cygnus, in latter Capricorn.

This location is where we are motivated to strip off the cloaks of personality-based facades and shenanigans to reveal true heart-level self and to live from our deeper hearts' truth for the greater nourishment of all. Sadr and the wings of Cygnus brings inspiration to elevate our selves from a self-centered exclusive focus to a more embracing and inclusive level of participation and expression.

The last decan of Capricorn, the Capricorn-Aquarius overlap, is an expressive and articulate area of the zodiak, with gregarious and loquacious qualities. It is of libraries, courts, congresses, publishing houses, literary agencies, or where any legalities are formulated, agreed upon and concretized. Here lies the constructive character of Saturn, which is at home in sidereal Capricorn.

Nashira is the bringer of good news, especially regarding legalities, business dealings, and constitutional matters, as well as sanctioned matters of the soul. Beta Gruis inspires the verbal expression of related wisdom (Alpha Gruis). As the stork, Gruis is carrier of bodies of knowledge, information, and news associated with new life and new beginnings. Prominent alignments with Beta Gruis and Nashira are exemplary of carriers of good tidings, especially associated with legalities.

The fortuitous influence of Sadalsuud, Beta Aquarius, which conjoins Deneb Algedi, tail of the fish-goat, marks the end of sidereal Capricorn. Sadalsuud expands our interests and concerns to our greater human family. Sadalsuud, marking the shoulder of the waterbearer is the luckiest in the kingdom of worldly affairs. Alignments with fortuitous Sadalsuud and Deneb Algedi produce genuinely wise, articulate, unique, and beneficent leadership. Sadalsuud is also of fortuitous outcomes, rewards bestowed, and can indicate a fortunate destiny, but also imparts a sense of responsibility inherent to a person in such a position.

Mars' exaltation brings stimulus for creative action and audacious leadership. This 1.6-year Venus cycle impels creative action and leadership based from the heart. It impels us to bring an open, receptive, heart-centered expression (all Venusian qualities) into structure and form, into business and legalities, into formal communications. It imparts a sense of responsibility to do so. This is the underlying current that compliments and brings perspective to our Venus retrograde theme of breaking new trail, to bring forth a greater vision that serves the true nourishment and freedom of humanity, and that breaks us free from the dogmas and our antiquated old world paradigm driven by manipulative and controlling bureaucracies.

Uranus Retrograde

Uranus stations to begin its retrograde on July 26, the day after the Venus station and theCeres-Altair synod. The Uranus station occurs just 3° to Eris, which is a precursor of the upcoming Uranus-Eris conjunction, occurring in 2016-2017, also initiating a new and very long Uranus-Eris cycle, as well as producing the Uranus-Eris generation. The current Uranus-Eris approach and subsequent conjunction (occurring from now through 2017) is exceptionally significant, a time that, I suspect, will avalanche into massive, unprecedented, unexpected "Disclosure" that will overturn our existing concepts of reality.

The Uranus retrograde occurs in late sidereal Pisces. A new annual Earth-Uranus synodic cycle will begin in the midst of the retrograde on October 11, 2015. Uranus will return direct on December 25, 2015. Uranus retrogrades support us to make progressive revolution within self, to break free from conforming patterns of the past, especially regarding limiting thought patterns. The Uranus retrograde is a time of shifting from the previous Uranus cycle into the next. The previous synodic cycle began on the Total Lunar Eclipse of October 8, 2014.

The Venus Bio-Harmonic Audio Meditation

For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonic Audio Meditations, the few days leading into the Venus and Uranus stations are an ideal time to work with the Venus and Uranus audios. Use the Venus audio followed immediately with the Uranus audio, which will facilitate a very progressive change of heart and values, to open a new level of receptivity, and to help break free from any fears to live from and fully express heart. The entire Venus retrograde is an ideal time to work with the Venus meditation, especially when triggered by the Moon or when Venus makes any aspects in your personal chart. You can also use the Venus audio followed by the Jupiter audio throughout the Venus-Jupiter conjunctions to help facilitate a mobilizing expansion of heart, including a greater level of receptivity to abundance and fulfillment. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.

This phase brings a strong desire to connect and involve with others. The outer and opposite is alluring. It is a time of exploration and involvement with others. Flowers not only blossom to reveal their beauty, but their functional purpose is to provide the pollination required to bear fruit. This interaction brings clarity of purpose and builds into the enthusiastic energy required for fulfillment. Communication and intermixing of energies is highlighted. The purpose is to be of value to each other, stimulating creativity. Share your vision and direction, what you have been working on. The 3 1/2-day Pollinating Phase is a social time, which will culminate on the Full Moon.

The Gibbous Moon
Attraction & Involvement

Gibbous Moon

The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the Pollinating Phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.

Ophiuchus vel Serpentis

Ophiuchus lies above and on the ecliptic, standing over the Scorpion, which swings quite south of the ecliptic under Ophiuchus. Antares, heart of the Scorpion, defines the center of the sidereal sign of Scorpio, the Serpent Point, and embodies the essence of the Scorpio constellation. Antares lies below the ecliptic as well, in the body of the Scorpion. Because Ophiuchus actually crosses the ecliptic, it is the thirteenth ecliptical constellation lying in the sidereal sign of Scorpio.

Ophiuchus holds the serpent (Serpentis) coiled around his body with the head of the serpent reaching toward the Northern Crown (Corona Borealis), which lies above the Chelae (claws) of the Scorpion (the scales of Libra). The neck (Unukalhai) and head of the snake embody the essence and wisdom of living true to soul, in one's true self-mastery. Ophiuchus is exemplar of one who has claimed mastery over the very raw creative forces governing life and death.

Ophiuchus and the sidereal sign of Scorpio are associated with the soul's education regarding the use of raw creative power. This entire image of Ophiuchus standing upon the Scorpion with this magnificent snake reaching for the North Crown represents claiming our self-mastery to attain evolutionary fulfillment beyond a process of soul growth in the karmic-based reincarnational process, or simply, free from perpetuated entrapment in our patterns of the past.

Ras Alhague, Alpha Ophiuchus, the principal lucida of Ophiuchus, is the head of the Serpent Holder. This star in the northern heavens embodies the essence of the constellation. Ras Alhague expresses the experientially-gained wisdom of one who has attained illumination and demonstrably lives from that prowess and awareness. Ras Alhague is also the embodiment of physical health and vitality—one who knows how to heal thyself.

Ras Alhague lies over and conjoins the stars forming the right leg and foot of Ophiuchus, which includes Xi and Theta Ophiuchus, which stands over the tail of the Scorpion. Ara, Altar of the Centaur, lies below the Scorpion tail and sting.

Sabik and the leg of Ophiuchus reveals a powerfully transformative location in sidereal Scorpio, one impelling a significant transmutational experience due to the alchemical intermixing of elements, often of a sexual, genetic, biological or botanical nature. Sabik impels involvements that lead to our biological transmutation and illumination—especially regarding our human condition from a lower-order to a more refined state of being. Sabik is of medicine, medical research, advanced healing and meditative techniques, and the art-science of alchemy. This inner work leads into the final initiatory process in sidereal Scorpio, that occurring upon Ara, the altar.

Sabik is the second brightest star in Ophiuchus and is a binary star system, with one star rotating around the other in an 88-year cycle. Sabik, on the right thigh or loin of Ophiuchus reveals a powerfully transformative location in sidereal Scorpio, one offering a significant transmutational experience due to the alchemical intermixing of elements, often of a sexual, genetic, biological or botanical nature. Sabik is also of medicine, healing, medical research and the art-science of alchemy. Conjoining Sabik are the potent entries: V2107, the Nova of 1977, also in Ophiuchus; and a dynamic X-ray eclipsing binary star in the tail of the Scorpion, 3U1700-37, one of the brightest identified X-ray sources.

Ara is the Altar of the Centaur. The mythical image here is of the Centaur placing Lupus the beast with conscious deliberation upon the Centaur's sacrificial altar. Lying between Eta and Zeta Ara is V821, an x-ray emitting & fluctuating binary star. This is a collapsed object (like a old neutron star) that accretes matter, and thus had been placed in the Black Hole model used by astronomers. Thus it is commonly called the Ara Black Hole. V821 accretes emotion for consummation in the Centaur's Pyre. Here we must place, with conscious deliberation, any long standing grief, guilt, anger, and any other emotion (especially self-judgment related) that we are holding upon the Altar of the Centaur for our transmutation. North from the Sting of the Scorpion drips the transmuting elixir (the often harsh lessons of life), upon the Altar. This act is essential to experience the actual neurological transmutation made possible here, and that leads to our greater self-mastery; the mastery over the creative and carnal forces of life exemplified by Ophiuchus, who stands over the Scorpion and this entire scene, and the wisdom from our experience articulated by Ras Alhague, the head of Ophiuchus. If we are not ready to surrender and relinquish our antiquated emotional baggage, we are held back or sidetracked, and continue to experience upsets, diversions and even traumatic and catastrophic events in our lives because we are not truly ready to step into a greater level of self-empowerment or take action that can truly change our lives.

Our Gibbous Moon brings our attention to our need for an inner alchemical transmutation. It may stimulate involvements that lead to our greater bio-logical well-being and illumination—especially regarding transmutation of our experience and our human condition from a lower-order to a more refined state of being. This level of transmutation in our lives requires full unconditional acceptance and integration of our past experience, so the bio-energetic patterning we hold within can be inverted to re-express its compliment—thus allowing a new expression that subsequently draws new fulfilling experience. This process in esoteric science and physics is called time-reversal or phase-conjugation. In advanced healing and meditative techniques, this is a means of producing the opposite but properly phased cellular pattern or signature within self that cancels (actually fulfills) the existing pattern we embody. Generally, this is an all-or-nothing deal requiring our unconditional willingness to embrace the healing / transmuational process. The choice is ours. Our Gibbous Moon may simply inspire the need cross a threshold and make a transition in our lives, a change in our neurology, how we act, or in our capacity to take action to change and evolve.

The Time of Global Change is at Hand.
What is the end of the World for some is a New World for those who realize it is.

Full Moon

The Full Moon marks the culmination point in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement and celebration. The hours leading up to the Full Moon provide a time of “vision and enthusiasm.” The time just after Full Moon is a one of “realization of the lunar month’s theme,” a time to kick back and relax, to allow our realizations to surface in consciousness.

This Full Moon occurs on July 31 in mid-sidereal Capricorn. The Moon conjoins Gamma Sagitta; the nearby Pulsar JP 1953 in Vulpecula; Alpha and Theta Microscopium; Epsilon and Delta Indus; Alpha Tucana; and the 1987A Super Nova Remnant in the Large Magellanic Cloud. The Moon is a few degrees past Ceres and the location of the Ceres-Altair synod.

Sagitta, the missile of Zeus, extends over the first decan of sidereal Capricorn, with its tip, Gamma Sagitta, of significance here. Sagitta embodies our strategic arsenal of tools—whether applied for war or peace—this includes our personal tools and expertise to accomplish our goals in the material world.

Gamma Sagitta and Alpha Microscopium conjoin. Microscopium, lying between Capricorn and Indus, articulates the detailed-minded and focused nature of this area of sidereal Capricorn. Gamma Sagitta, the tip of the missile, inspires direct application of our strategic tools. Alpha Microscopium invites detailed and intelligent investigation, which is required for proper application of our strategic tools and our strategies in life. Both impart a highly detailed focus. These two stars also articulate our modern-day tools of war, such as laser-based satellites and missiles with pin-point accuracy.

Our arsenal of tools, no matter what they are, must be applied with such accuracy and from a place of global vision, equilibrium and poise, as actions veiled in stupidity or the use of blind brut force can have damaging or utterly devastating ramifications.

The Tarantula Nebula a huge stellar nursery

The Tarantula Nebula a huge stellar nursery hosting some of the most massive stars known resides in the Large Magellanic Cloud, a satellite galaxy near our own galaxy. The nebula extends about 1000 light years across, with streamers extending out to about 1800 light years, making the Tarantula Nebula the largest emission nebula in the sky—about 30 times larger than the Great Orion Nebula, which lies in our own galaxy. The Tarantula Nebula contains the fantastic Supernova SN 1987A, the result of a star (called Sanduleak) that suddenly blew to bits in a spectacular supernova on February 23, 1987 and which was then seen with the unaided eye, one of the brightest supernovas since the Kepler supernova of 1604. Astrologically, supernovas explosions are one of the cosmic phenomena stimulating an expansion of consciousness. Curiously, 1987 was the year of the Harmonic Convergence movement. Image credit: ESO

On February 23, 1987, a star called Sanduleak suddenly blew to bits in a spectacular supernova, now labeled SN1987A. We normally see a neutron star in the midst of a Super Nova Remnant. A neutron star is the dead remains of the original star made of neutrons compressed into an extraordinary density. In this case there should have been a neutron star in place of Sanduleak, but perplexingly it was non-existent—fitting to the theme at this zodiacal longitude, at the "Tip of Missile."

Indus, a southern constellation directly under the first decan of sidereal Capricorn, was recently added in the early 1600's by German astronomer Johann Bayer, of Augsberg. Bayer articulates the qualities of this constellation as a nude (native) man holding arrows in both hands, (without a bow). In Chinese astronomy, Alpha Indus is the desert Persian (Allen).
Indus articulates the qualities and skills of a native indigenous person, much like a Native American Elder, the Aboriginal, the Desert Arab or Persian, or the Mountain Shaman—sometimes ornately dressed or adorned, and sometimes totally inconspicuous and unassuming. Either way, Indus’ adornment, what ever it may be, is with specific purpose, often including the use of ceremonial magik or prayer. Indus can blend in and disappear or invoke a mysterious power for a specific purpose.

Indus also articulates the steward of a special place or sacred land, or a keeper of sacred knowledge and sacred ways; and imparts the quality of a steward or a shamanistic way of life. Such people are most often highly astute and specialized, able to comprehend the intimate relation to the unseen forces guiding our lives and the natural world in which we live. Indus understands our connectedness to the land, and the importance of the location in which we live, our "places of power" that support our well-being and purposes in life. This also alludes to why military installations are often found on or near sacred sites, strategic locations on the Earthgrid.

Epsilon and Delta Indus conjoin Alpha Tucana and Theta Microscopium at mid-sidereal Capricorn. Loquacious Alpha Tucana can express as overly articulate, or even as incessant babel, which can be either very helpful or terribly annoying. Epsilon and Delta Indus add an ornate quality to communicative Tucana that is inherently perceptive to the natural world and to the earth. Theta Microscopium adds to this ornately loquacious and negotiating quality that demands extreme attention to detail and which is precision minded. These stars often stimulate communication and creative negotiation that lead to solution for all parties involved.

Also conjoining are the Vulpecula Pulsar JP 1953 and the Pulsar PSR 2045-16 in Capricorn. Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron (collapsed) stars emitting a beam of electromagnetic radiation at consistent and dependable pulsating intervals, much like a lighthouse. They are usually found along the galactic equatorial plane and are guiding navigational beacons for the soul. They can be associated with our greater evolutionary purpose beyond or transcending the incarnational sojourn due to their galactic equatorial placement. They can either drive unconscious behavior for the less aware, or for a person more aware, they can offer a subtle but guiding message. A pulsar's emission is dependable, consistent, and is non-polarized (without opinion). They can suggest patience, tenacious persistence and consistency in action; or the need to be attentive to something specific, often revealed by conjoining stars. Repetition and routine can set in resulting in empty ceremonial ways, monotonous actions or other unconscious behavior if one lacks the perceptual awareness to apprehend the specific pulsar’s message.

The Vulpecula Pulsar JP 1953 has a 0.426676 second period, which equals a frequency of 2.34369873159 Hz. and translates to 4543.44588 Angstroms (perfect blue) in the visible light spectrum. Pulsar PSR 2045-16 has a 1.96156682076 second period, which equals a frequency of 0.509796551 Hz. and translates to 5221.92055 Angstroms (green) in the visible light spectrum. PSR 2045-16 of Capricorn is a non-galactic equatorial Pulsar, lying almost on the ecliptic.

These conjoining pulsars bring attention to how we communicate, and impel us to express from the heart and throat chakras integrated together. They impel the need to shift from a covert, self-focused, exclusive (separatist) way of communicating (as in babbling to hear one's self speak) to a more open, wholesome and inclusive way of communicating with others and with all life, to blend into the world, to become an inseparable part of it, rather than to stand outside looking in. They impel us to use our entire range of cognitive and perceptual abilities when communicating.

Our Full Moon brings our Pollux lunar theme to its culmination. Our lunar theme impels us to unite and cooperate for the greater wellbeing of humanity. Are we going to use our tools and strategies of war instead, or are we going to use our tools and strategies to aid humanity through mutual cooperation? A question I am sure is clear for those reading this, but unfortunately not so clear for much of the world. There are several currents set in motion to shift our militaristic-based paradigm, with emphasis on communication and compassion, on caring for life and for the environment, to seek and manifest a greater vision that is nourishing to life. Yet the momentum to use force and money to gain power and control has been long standing on Earth. It is up to those of us who seek to evolve a new world humanitarian-based paradigm, and there are millions, to apply our tools, talents and strategies, to overcome this self-destructive modality rampant on Earth, to become ambassadors for a new world. There are several major cycles coming to a close in 2020, which mark the ending of an era, and there is the very prominent Uranus-Eris conjunction and their new cycle engaging in 2016-2017 and occurring in these closing years, all of which support tremendous evolutionary change over the several years ahead. Will we, as a world, make the change or will it need to be forced upon us?

Saturn Direct

Saturn makes its direct station on August 1 (Aug 2 UT) in early Scorpio, completing its retrograde and engaging the new Saturn cycle that began during the midst of its retrograde on May 23 UT, presented in the May 18, 2015 Lunar Planner.

Earth and Saturn begin their new annual synodic cycle at the head of the Scorpion. This is a significant cycle in the current progression of Saturn cycles, one demanding we take responsibility to evolve out of antiquated patterns of the past that perpetuate an experience of entrapment and a sense of victim consciousness.

This new 378-day Saturn cycle demands a significant maturing, to acknowledge and take responsibility for our self–mastery and our reality. It impels a spiritual metamorphosis of antiquated ways of being, also of antiquated societal structural systems, such as the totalitarian bureaucracies of business and politics. It indicates old ways must die and squirreling around that issue is no longer acceptable. It also impels us to realize that is by helping others that we help ourselves, and acknowledging our responsibility to do so is required to establish a new world paradigm.

Movement & Participation

The latter part of this phase shifts rapidly. A sense of urgency is felt. It is a time to bring forth the fruits of our actions. On the day before the Disseminating Moon, it is as if there is more to do than there is time for. It is a time of much commotion with last minute details seeming to appear from nowhere. Keep cool and accelerate, making those last-minute preparations. A birthing is at hand.

Manifestation & Demonstration

This is a time for the fruits of our labors to manifest and for lessons to become tangible. Whether the fruit of this cycle is in the form of inner growth or outer manifestation, it is that which will support the true nourishment of ourselves and others. Share your fruit. This is a time to give forth that which was learned or created, and to receive the same from others. Demonstrable expression and the imparting of our gifts anchors into the structure of our consciousness the self-empowerment gained from this Lunar Cycle.

The Disseminating Moon
Manifestation & Demonstration

Disseminating Moon

The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon generally is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation that leads into the birth point in the lunar cycle, the time of bearing the fruit of the cycle, of claiming its gift, of living that which we have been learning.

The Disseminating Moon occurs on August 3 on the cusp of sidereal Pisces. The Moon conjoins Markab and Matar of Pegusus; the Zetas of Reticuli; the Nuclear Galaxy BL Lacerta; and Theta, Lamda and Iota Pisces of the Circlet of Stars.

The Piscean cusp is marked by "The Circlet" of stars that mark the head of the southern / western fish. Providing context is Markab, Alpha Pegasus, of the Great Square of Pegasus, which lies north of Pisces; the Nuclear Galaxy BL Lacerta; and the very southern Zetas of Reticuli, all of which express into the last two degrees of sidereal Aquarius. All of these stars articulate involvement in biological and genetic sciences, which brings the high-mental art-science nature of later Aquarius to its peak. Northern BL Lacerta and the southern Zeta stars of Reticuli, which conjoin at the Pisces cusp, tend to manifest psychic tendencies, but also tend toward psychic manipulation, control, confusion and entrapment, which is common to the psychic realm of mind.

Also lying north of the circlet, slightly north of Markab but just into Pisces is the star Matar, on the foreleg of Pegasus. Matar is from Al Sa‘d al Matar, which means "the Fortunate Rain," which articulates movement from high-mental and social activity of later sidereal Aquarius into the wet, sensual, emotional, psychic and amorphous world of sidereal Pisces.

Markab, Alpha Pegasus, the primary star of Pegasus, is the first of four very principal stars creating the Great Square of Pegasus. Markab is the only star of the Great Square in sidereal Aquarius. Markab is of the physical corporeal body, the vessel of the soul. Markab brings attention to the physical condition of our bodies at the genetic and cellular level. Markab is the vehicle through which soul accomplishes its greater mission. Markab not only brings attention to our physical body and its health—the body being the temple / vessel of the soul—but to the physical aspects of our lives and of our relations, how we interrelate in our human physicality. This includes the physical means or forms through which we participate in life from the professional structures that make our nourishment possible, especially the functional aspects of humanitarian-focused organizations, to the physical logistics of our personal lives. Markab asks us to honor the physical needs of the human body and to fully embrace the physical aspects of our lives.

The (Veil) Lacework Nebula

Beta Reticuli and the Zetas of Reticuli express from the very southern heavens into late sidereal Aquarius. Reticuli, the rhomboid or diamond, embodies the essence of our DNA, that of carbon based-life forms, which we are. Reticuli is sometimes referred to as "the net"—which we might also consider to be our neural-net.

The Zetas of Reticuli (plural because there are two Zeta stars, Zeta 1 and Zeta 2, separated by ~5 minutes of arc, and ~2 lightyears from each other in distance) also conjoin Markab at the Piscean cusp. The Zetas are estimated to be about 35 lightyears from our star system. The Zetas are two remote star systems disconnected from the main body of the Reticuli constellation.

The Zetas of Reticuli articulate the un-illuminated double helix as the result of the unrefined DNA, which results in our current bio-logical process, meaning that we reason with mind by comparing opposites, the reflexive process to arrive at knowledge, in contrast to bio-illumination, which results in direct epistemological awareness of truth. They exemplify the search through the labyrinth of genetic duality to learn how to illuminate the DNA into one unified spiral of light. They stimulate high-mental activity and can express as overly mentalized scientific research or information that has little practical application.

They can impel a tendency to live in the high recesses of the intellect, the bio-logical condition common to the unillumined DNA, extremely disconnected at the feeling / emotional level and to the needs of the main body, to the physical-feeling aspects of self. At the same time, and paradoxically, they can impel the attempt to address the genetic deficiencies of the body through the mental sciences and psychic manipulation when the lesson is to learn empathy and how to feel, articulated by Matar of Pegasus, crossing the cusp into sidereal Pisces.

Our Demonstrable Moon invites us to become empathic, to leave the realm of mentalizing life, to feel and palpate life and to have compassion for the physical needs of others.

Venus and Jupiter

Retrograde Venus conjoins Jupiter on August 4, the second of the three conjunctions, discussed above. Mercury joins in on August 6 and 7, during Last Quarter Moon.

Last Quarter Moon Phase CharacteristicsLast Quarter Moon Last Quarter Moon

Inner Need

This phase completes with our Inner Needs surfacing to consciousness, to become aware of what is important to self and what is not. A sense of completion comes forth with a recognition that the past scenario has served its purpose and it is time to leave what is antiquated behind. Essentially a lesser self is what we will be shedding. Acknowledging the needs we feel surfacing on the inner is essential to create the changes in our lives on the outer. This inner recognition provides the challenge to do so. There is impetus to withdraw from the activity of this entire cycle, to emerge from the stage setting that served our intended growth. Remember that others are having their inner needs as well! Demanding others change is not the solution to our well being. This is a good day for quite time. Allowing mutual space and sharing our realizations with mutual respect supports all parties.

Initiate Change

It is now time to plow under the crops so they may become the fertilizer for the next cycle. It is time to let go of any vested interest or attachment to the experience of the Lunar Cycle and to the stage props that served our growth. This is a transformational time, a time for personal change. Step forth from old facades, and free yourself from past ways of participating in life. This is a time of departure, of walking away from that which is no longer nourishing and to prepare the soil of our lives for that which is. Knowing now what our Truth is, it is time to consciously live it. Doing so provides a choice for others to also live theirs. Not making the realized changes keeps ourselves bound in a circle of old patterns of growth; changing allows us to spiral to a new octave of experience—one that will eventually sprout in the next lunar cycle to come.

Last Quarter Moon
Time for Change

Last Quarter Moon

The Last Quarter Moon creates our “inner need to initiate change” in the lunar cycle as we move into the cycle’s last and transitional quarter. Our Last Quarter Moon occurs on August 6 (Aug 7 UT) in sidereal Aries and creates a Grand Trine with Juno and Pluto. The Moon conjoins Tish of Cassiopeia; Tycho’s Super Nova Remnant of 1572 A.D., an x–ray source in Cassiopeia; Almach of Andromeda; Menkar of Cetus; Zibal of Eridanus; and Alpha Horilogium. This is also the Sun's exalted location in the ecliptic.

Cetus is the fear-instilling techno-bureaucratic monster of collective human consciousness. The body of Cetus lies submerged in sidereal Pisces, but its neck and head reach up upon the shores of Aries, with its head lying in mid-sidereal Aries. The head of Cetus articulates the intelligence of Cetus, which is marked by two primary stars, Kaffaljidhma, the brain of Cetus, and Menkar, the jaws of Cetus. Who is it that creates this central intelligencia? Many would like to blame the monster on every thing and every one outside of self, a victim mentality perpetuating our human condition and the entrapments we find ourselves in. However, the key phrase here is “human consciousness.” This implies each of us is responsible for the collective consciousness we find ourselves in—the reality of our personal lives and that of our world we uphold by consensus.

Almach is princess Andromeda’s snagged foot about to be bitten off by conjoining Menkar, the jaws of Cetus. Classically, Almach is considered an honorable and eminent star; and Andromeda is unadulterated, innocent, naive, uncorrupted by evil, wrong-doing or malice; and holds a position of extraordinary honor and advantage. Menkar, however, expresses as an entrapping force for those who are naïve, innocent, or passive, and who are often caught in the arrogant power plays of others.

Conjoining from the north is Tish, Gamma Cassiopeia, the whip of the Queen. In the myth of the Royal family, the intolerant queen has become crusted with anger and frustration due to finding herself in-between the tormenting forces of both the manipulative gods and her own emotional insecurities and arrogance, and is at a loss with how to deal with either. It is this spiteful arrogance to have her way that sentences her daughter, the princess Andromeda, to be devoured by Cetus. When the whip of spiteful arrogance is used, it often snaps back only to scar one’s own hand, especially when applied with vengeance. Lowering ourselves to this level of resourcefulness, using a tool found only in the dramatics of the monstrous world, will only lead to our own demise. Here we have a statement of something we must surrender to receive that which we are due—righteous arrogance, the attitude that keeps us from our very own fulfillment.

Zibal marks a pause, a point of consideration, along Eridanus, the river of life, inviting an introspective moment while northern Triangulum invites us to look beyond the dramatics of those around us and of own life scenarios to realize any entrapping conditions manifest in our lives are but a reflection of the projection of our own fears—a principle key in the revelation found along the river of life.

Also conjoining from the south is Alpha Horologium, the pendulum clock, which embodies the characteristic of impending time and brings our awareness to the fact that there is a finite period, with time ticking away, to do more than seems humanly possible. Seemingly, a miracle is required, and often time, at the last minute, one arrives—usually provided through cooperation with another party. However, we must be willing to release the pressure we are applying in attempt to free ourselves, as it really creates the tension that keeps us entrapped. Only then can we make our passage.

In summation, Andromeda represents humanity’s ideal potential, to become the fulfillment of this ideal, her foot articulates her long-term destiny, our potential destiny. Yet that potential seems to be snagged or held up by our own righteous arrogance, which only hurts ourselves (Tish); and which is about to be totally devoured by good ole’ Cetus, humanity’s fear-based technobureaucratic monster.

This area of sidereal Aries is about our attitudes about life. It presents the opportunity to pause and invert our perspective from being entrapped by forces or circumstances appearing to be outside of self to recognizing that it is our fear-based attitudes that crystallize as righteous and adamant behavior leading us to feel that we must fight against the techno-bureaucratic monster of human collective consciousness. It invites us to relinquish such attitudes and to become our own directing intelligence, participating in and directing our own lives.

Our Last Quarter Moon inspires the need to make changes in our attitudes, perhaps to pause rather than trying to force something to occur, to first relinquish any attitudes of righteousness that we deserve something we do not have or be in a position that we are not in. Inattentive, spiteful, arrogant, or stupid moves will only entrap us more than we already are, tightening the chain of human bondage. Patience and gentleness is required to move forth into the light we seek.

Coalescence into Essence

The latter part of this phase results in coalescing all that was experienced in the cycle into its essence, into its seed form. It is a reflective time looking back over the past, of extracting and assembling what was learned from the cycle, claiming its true wealth and wisdom. This is a great time to explore what we learned in the context of the new moon theme. It is this seed essence which is of true value to our greater growth. This seed will sprout in the next Lunar Cycle of growth and unfoldment, and morph into the next Lunar Cycle's theme.

Focus to the Future

Our focus now turns toward the future. We now turn away from looking back over the past cycle completely and begin to look ahead, preparing for and anticipating the future cycle to come, to a new step to emerge in our Lunar Path of Fulfillment. The seed is planted. It is time to let it germinate. Completing any lose ends is appropriate, or to move into a new position for the next cycle to unfold. Here we make the field of all possibilities smooth and clear, ready for the new sprouting to occur.

Balsamic Moon
Focus to the Future

Balsamic Moon

The Balsamic Moon marks the time in lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn 180° from looking back over the past cycle and look forward toward the next cycle to come.

The Foot of Castor

IC433 is a supernova remnant of a star that exploded about 35000 years ago. It is located approx. 5000 light years away. To the left is IC444, a large emission nebula, which also contains a small reflection nebula (the small bluish patch in the upper middle). The two bright stars are Eta (Tejat) and Mu (Dirah) of Gemini." Eta and Mu are less than 2° apart. Image Credit: NASA Hubble Space Telescope.

The Balsamic Moon occurs on August 10 conjoining the foot of Castor in sidereal Gemini. Conjoining stars include Tejat and Dirah of Gemini; and Gamma Monoceros

The foot of Castor is composed of Tejat, Eta Gemini, IC 444—a large emission nebula, and Dirah (Tejat Posterior) Mu Gemini. Tejat, Dirah and IC 444 portend eminence and renown, and will make visible that which has been suppressed, oppressed, hidden in the closet, but destined to be seen.

Alignments with the foot of Castor mark the time to come out of hiding, to become visible, to stand forth in the limelight, and to become available and approachable. This can also indicate the need to emerge from our own mental obscurations or illusions. Tejat and Dirah may impel us to claim our roles in the physical world, to show up and participate, to take the steps that are required for what we truly want in our lives. Tejat can also indicate those who are physically marked in some way: including birth marks, genetic marks, or other unique features including tattoos, and especially jewels; or it may reveal marks or signs indicating it is time for demonstrable action.

As Tejat brings to the surface that which has been suppressed, we may see parts of our selves that seem rather dark and opposing to our emergence—the fears, hesitancies, and blockages within our selves that we must step through into our paths of fulfillment in the world. Tejat and Dirah invite us to be willing to walk through the shadows of self to claim our power and place in the physical world. The more we express the truth of who we are openly in the world the less forces attempting to suppress that truth have any power.

Conjoining Gamma Monoceros of the Unicorn often indicates a unique opportunity, one unexpected and magical that may be obscured or hidden, but which may appear seemingly out of nowhere, perhaps marked in a unique eye-catching or unmistakable way, an opportunity that can bring fragmented pieces into a greater unified effort provided we step forth to meet it.

Thus, the seed of this lunar month coalesces our lunar cycle. Our Balsamic Moon inspires us to step forth into the world, interact, communicate, and express self openly and honestly. Be willing to be seen, to show an open heart. Be attentive to unique opportunities and signs. Simply, show up, pay attention and participate.

Vesta Retrograde

Vesta stations on August 11 (Aug 12 UT) in Pisces where it begins its retrograde. Vesta will begin its new synodic cycle on September 29, in the midst of its retrograde, and will make its direct station, completing its retrograde, on November 13, 2015. This retrograde provides opportunity for an inward exploration of our focus, dedication and commitment, a time of shifting from the previous Vesta cycle into the next. Vesta's previous synodic cycle was presented in the March 30, 2014 Lunar Planner.

Our next New Moon occurs on August 14 conjoining retrograde Venus under the auspices of the Head of the Lion. More to come then.
