Astronomical Myth is a "picture language," imagery that articulates the qualities of cosmic intelligence expressing throughout the greater heavens and through our lives. We are not separate from the greater heavens, from the stars and planets around us, or from our beloved Earth, but are intimate parts of this dynamic, continually unfolding heavenly symphony. This entirety is our cosmic consciousness, the totality of our being. To explore the greater heavens and the heavenly cycles is to explore that which we are—our embracing consciousness and our spiritual evolution.
The purpose of the Lunar Planner is to learn to live in the experiential awareness of the present. Although the material below can provide philosophical context for your personal experience, the New Moon is the ideal time to experientially "tune in" to get your personalized lunar month's theme. Then, consciously participate with the changing Lunar Phase Characteristics in the unfoldment of that theme in your daily life using the Lunar Calendar and Lunar Planner Introduction (links at the bottom).
Synodic Cycles are created when two (or more) planets align in their orbits around the Sun. The synodic cycle theme, defined by the planets involved and the star alignments at the time, will unfold until the two planets align again, marking the completion of the synodic cycle and the beginning of the next one.
There are many synodic cycles with unique astrological themes occurring simultaneously, creating a harmonic symphony of creative unfoldment in consciousness. Synodic cycles can be thought of as longer-term underlying currents, much like the backdrop chorus of a symphony, providing the underlying astrological context guiding our evolution as a collective.
New Moon - Sidereal Fagan-Bradley
Subtract 0° 16' for the Galactic Ayanamsa
This June 5, 2016 UT (June 4 MST) New Moon conjoins Venus and forms a Grand Square with the Lunar Nodes, with Jupiter conjoined the North Lunar Node and Neptune conjoined the North Lunar Node, and with retrograde Saturn opposite the Venus-New Moon. It occurs in a dynamic and catalytic window of time that began with the third and final Jupiter-Saturn square, which occurred on May 26, and continues through the Crescent Moon of June 8, at which time Uranus makes its first conjunction with Eris opposite Haumea. Ceres also conjoins Uranus and Eris opposite Haumea in this lunar cycle, bringing emphasis to geological, ecological and agricultural issues, as well as issues surrounding our fundamental nourishment. This Grand Square configuration creates exceptionally strong geophysical and biological resonances. It can create tremendous tension and stress that impels us to create change in our lives.
This is the first lunar cycle occurring as we fully engage in the last quarter of the 20-year Jupiter-Saturn cycle, that began in June of 2000 and which completes in 2020, presented in the article: Sociopolitical & Personal Explorations 2016-2020.
This lunar cycle impels enterprising entrepreneurial pursuits that support progressive and expansive change in outdated sociopolitical structures and in antiquated modalities of our personal lives. This lunar cycle can stimulate unexpected or disconcerting events in our lives or unexpected disclosures, but that support progressive change in the longer term. Staying heart centered is emphasized.
This Venus-New Moon lies amongst the stars of Taurus and over those of enterprising Orion. Stars conjoining the Venus New Moon include Rigel of Orion and stars forming the Shield of Orion, Kursa of Eridanus, and Hassaleh of Auriga, the Charioteer.
Rigel, Beta Orion, (and this part of sidereal Taurus) inspires enterprising entrepreneurialism. Rigel imparts strength, success and honors. Orions in general are known for their architectural capacity. Prominent alignments with Rigel (and Bellatrix) bring the capacity to embody, direct and execute large, extravagant and grandiose projects; bringing good through commerce and business affairs. Kursa, conjoining Rigel, marks the beginning of Eridanus, the River of Life. Kursa is of new beginnings, new involvements, and new journeys of our lives. Although it may be time to go forth anew, into a new phases of our lives, we must be aware of the tenacious perseverance required when staring new life journeys, to move from the wars and trials of the past to the freedom of the future. Kursa is also favorable for journeys involving enterprises across water or in other parts of the world.
The Shield of Orion brings inspiration to establish a protective environment when starting new business ventures or enterprises when they are in their formative or planning stages, yet to become self-sustaining. This also extends to physical abodes and daily sustenance, of ensuring the care for self and for others. The stars of the Shield impel endurance and victory in this pursuit.
North of Taurus is Auriga, the Charioteer. Capella, the messenger of light, is the primary star of this constellation. Hassaleh is the third brightest star of the classic pentagon of stars forming Auriga.
Hassaleh conjoins Rigel of Orion and Kursa of Eridanus. Marking the foot of Auriga, Hassaleh inspires innovative, enduring and persistent action; and like the essence of Auriga, to mobilize that which cannot move on its own accord. Conjoining Hoedus (and Al Anz) adds a warrior quality to Hassaleh and is action oriented. Hoedus and Al Anz inspire us to mobilize additional expertise to help us open doors to achieve our goals.
This lunar cycle inspires audacious action and enterprising pursuits while standing in the midst of uncertainty and the diversionary conditions of human life. It brings emphasis to the physical infrastructures in our lives and to that which supports our fundamental physical needs. It impels us to create nurturing and protective environments and conditions, and brings emphasis to our values and monetary issues.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-Harmonic Audio Meditations, these few days from New Moon to Crescent, is an ideal time to work with the Saturn, Venus and Jupiter audio meditations. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
The hours before the Crescent Moon provide a time when we relinquish patterns of the past that would limit our creative ability to expand on the lunar theme now unfolding. The Crescent Moon is the time when the sprouting seedling sloughs off its protective coat of the past and emerges in a new expression. As the Crescent Moon unfolds, the growing phase of the lunar cycle begins as we start to amalgamate our personal creativity with the original lunar theme.
The Crescent Moon occurs on June 8 in Cancer. The Moon conjoins Al Tarf and Tegmine of Cancer, and Talitha of the Great Bear.
Al Tarf, Beta Cancer, marks the southern back leg of the crab. Although the brightest star of the constellation, it, like the others of Cancer, is unspectacular. Al Tarf can impart a complacent attitude with somewhat of a sluggishness to change or emerge from our slumber. Hence it can impel a desire to be cared for but also with need to be prodded to awaken.
Tegmine, Zeta Cancer (Tegmen) is a multiple star system containing at least four stars. Tegmine refers to the protective shell of the crab; a cover which protects. Both of these stars and this area of the Crab express an incubational quality, to create a nest or home, a place that serves to protect.
This ecliptical longitude is also the North Node of Haumea's orbital plane. The North and South nodes of a planet mark the axis of intersection between that planet's orbital plane and Earth's orbital plane (ecliptic). The north and south nodes and the perihelion and aphelion points of a planet's orbit create a planet's cross in the ecliptic that helps reveal the nature of how a planet interacts with consciousness on Earth. The North Node is a point of action and emergence regarding a planet's character. In this case, Haumea inspires action to support a new birth in consciousness. More about Haumea.
The forefoot of the Great Bear is marked by Talitha (Iota) and Kappa of Ursa Major, which I dub as protectress, guardian, and nurturer of humanity. This duo is the Chinese "High Dignitary." Although minor stars they should not be taken lightly as these stars lie in principal stellar orientation within the Bear. Of the Great Bear they are associated with the global scene and world powers. They inspire us to become a caring and nurturing force for each other, a force that responsibility supports our emergence from darkness, dogma, and delusion, emergence from the limits and bounds created by our structured beliefs, a force that supports our reawakening to light, to live in freedom, and in greater personal fulfillment.
Our Crescent Moon brings emphasis to intuition and emotion. Concern and caring for self and others is highlighted as is home and family. It brings inspiration to be nurturing and caring amongst those around us and in the world, and to be attentive to those things that really matter. Watch for tendencies to cling to or get lost in emotionalism, and seek to see what people really feel hidden behind the surface.
Uranus made its first opposition to Haumea on the previous Crescent Moon. Now, just hours after this Crescent Moon, Uranus makes its first conjunction with Eris, engaging a dynamic that will continue into 2017. Ceres joins in a bit late in this lunar cycle, and again after Ceres retrograde, shown in the adjacent video, bringing emphasis to geological, ecological and agricultural issues, as well as issues surrounding our fundamental nourishment.
The Uranus-Eris opposition to Haumea is presented in the article: New Frontiers in Consciousness 2016-2017: Uranus-Eris opposite Haumea. Events and experiences occurring in this lunar cycle may give us some insight into the nature of the Uranus-Eris synthesis, and what lies ahead.
First Quarter Moon - Sidereal Fagan-Bradley
The First Quarter Moon of each lunar cycle draws an external stimulus to initiate action as we move from the inspirational quarter of the lunar cycle into the action quarter. Our First Quarter Moon occurs on June 12 in late sidereal Leo just after conjoining Jupiter on the North Lunar Node.
The Moon conjoins Denebola, tail of the Lion; Cor Caroli of Canes Venatici, Alpha Antilia, Avior Carina of Argo Navis, and Alkes of Crater. Also of influence is Benetnash of the Great Bear, which lends overall context to late sidereal Leo and the Virgo cusp.
Benetnash, Eta Ursa Major, is oddly considered to be the tail of the Great Bear, although bears do not have long tails. Unlike the five middle stars of Ursa Major (Mizar, Alioth, Megrez, Phecda and Merak), which move as a loosely knit group in the same direction, Benetnash (and Dubhe) are not of this group and move in different directions, both are quite different in character however. Benetnash means “hired mourners.” The Arabic name for Benetnash is Alkaid, which means "the leader," perhaps alluding to its tendency to produce self-proclaimed leaders—follow my tail. Reinhold Ebertin reported that primary planetary transits to Benetnash are often associated with claiming human lives through calamities, and thus of death and mourning, based upon his research of planetary transits to this star over centuries. George Noonan reports that Islamic astrologers considered this star to be "the destroyer of nations."
Benetnash expresses the old dictatorial and totalitarian stream of consciousness that was predominant when Earth's polar alignment was tilted (had fallen) furthest from the galactic plane in Earth's great precessional year (about 6000 years ago). Thus Benetnash is of this long-established totalitarian governing paradigm—generally of a patriarchal nature. Benetnash articulates the administrative aspects of governments and the political-religious factions of big-business and their figureheads.
In its lesser expression, Benetnash articulates those who tend to act as manipulating and controlling godheads, which perpetuates a dogmatic societal structure that keeps individuals from becoming self-responsible and from evolving into their own self-mastery. This is leadership that dictates what is right for people and what they should do by using dramatic and diversionary propaganda. Benetnash can be of the self-proclaimed saviors of the world who try to amass their blind followers for their own interest in maintaining a position of power and wealth.
Benetnash ultimately teaches that leadership is about facilitating the self-empowerment and freedom of others rather than about exerting manipulative force that controls and destroys others, mistaken as leadership and being in a position of power.
M51 The Giant Whirlpool Galaxy &
its companion galaxy in Canes Venatici. This stunning image is a composite of images (infrared and visible) taken by European Space Agency's Herschel space observatory and the Hubble Space Telescope. Image Credit: Credit: NASA, ESA, and The Hubble Heritage Team (STScI/AURA)
South of Benetnash are the stars of Canes Venatici, the barking hounds, along with the Super-giant Whirlpool Galaxy M51. Cor Caroli is the Alpha of the hounds. Cor Caroli, M51, and Canes Venatici in general embody the diversionary tactics, usually of a grandiose scale and glamorous facade, a front large enough to draw attention away from what is really of going on by making the masses believe the staged show is what is of extreme importance and of real issue—corruption at the highest of levels. A Super Nova was discovered in M51 on Apr. 2, 1994, marking another upsurge in this energetic.
Denebola, Beta Leo, the tail of the Lion, along with earlier Zosma and Chort, a triangle of stars, create the hind of the lion. Denebola is of indicative of diversions obscuring the true path to fulfillment. Southern Antlia, the hot air pump, fuels the fire that creates the diversionary smoke and grand spectacle.
Conjoining Benetnash, also at the Leo-Virgo cusp and lying south of the ecliptic, below the egoic stage setting of late sidereal Leo, is Alkes of Crater. Crater is the Golden Chalice, the Cup of Salvation, or simply the Cup of Fulfillment. Alkes (Alpha), Labrum (Delta) and Epsilon of Crater straddle the Leo-Virgo Cusp. Alkes simply means cup, and Labrum is associated with the quest for the Holy Grail. Alkes and the stars of Crater articulate the way to the greater spiritual fulfillment that we seek, which lies silently submerged under the diversionary shenanigans perpetuated by the puppet-masters directing events upon the global stage.
Further south is the sail of the Argo and below is Avior on the keel of the Argo. Avior, the third brightest star of Carina, is the holder or steward of esoteric wisdom. Avior also articulates the true sage who most often is one without need to be on stage, one elusive who is found behind the scenes simply living their spiritual truth. These are often those people working with transcendent currents of wisdom that influence the surface world in genuine ways—those who make a real difference but who do not need to at a personality level.
Making passage through this several degree area of the zodiak is characteristic of the search for truth regarding spiritual and esoteric teachings, which is most often buried far beneath the religious-political figureheads and self-proclaimed authorities who spout principles they do not embody or live (whether done innocently or deliberately), and their variety of diversionary and misinformation tactics.
Our First Quarter Moon's stimulus to action may be somewhat of a dramatic nature, but requires discernment and attunement to transcendent truth and spiritual principles rather than reacting to and diversionary racket and whirlwind occurring in the world around us.
The pre-First Quarter Moon North Node Jupiter conjunction adds significant influence here. Jupiter just completed its retrograde in the previous lunar cycle, leading into Jupiter's third and final geocentric square with Saturn, also occurring in the previous lunar month.
Jupiter's direct movement now impels us to begin externalized movement upon any inner expansion of awareness we have embodied over the past few months. Jupiter's direct movement also engages the new 399-day Earth-Jupiter synodic cycle that began on the Total Solar Eclipse of March 9, 2016, presented in the March 9, 2016 Lunar Planner. This is the first Earth-Jupiter cycle as we enter the last quarter of the 20-year Jupiter-Saturn cycle. It impels us to discern for ourselves and to mobilize our own creative potential based from our own wisdom rather than reacting to and continuing to blindly follow the antic propaganda of antiquated sociopolitical structures.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-harmonic Audio Meditations, the First Quarter Moon is an ideal time to work with the Jupiter audio meditation. See this Month's Lunar Calendar for exact aspect times; or the "Lunar Cycle Timing Chart" found under the "Resources" menu on the Planetary Bio-Harmonics web page.
Neptune makes its retrograde station on June 13, as it makes its second of three geocentric squares to Saturn, occurring on June 18. The Saturn-Neptune square, occurring from late 2015 through September 2016, is another principle energetic occurring in this transformative year. It marks entry into the last quarter of the 36.4-year synodic cycle that began in 1989, also presented in the article: Sociopolitical & Personal Explorations 2016-2020.
This second square occurring now (June 18) begins a very tight orb (less than 2°) that continues through the third square of September 10, 2016. See the 2016 Graphic Ephemeris. This square and the few months ahead create a strong impetus to relinquish antiquated ideologies and the antiquated sociopolitical structures they uphold.
The Sun enters sidereal Gemini on June 15, emphasizing a solar month of communication, high-energy social interaction, business and commerce.
The 24-hour period just before the Gibbous Moon is a time of perseverance, of pushing through in the midst of the action quarter of the lunar cycle. The Gibbous Moon is when the pressure releases and we enter the Pollinating Phase of the lunar cycle, which begins a social and communicative time of magnetic attraction.
The swirling patterns of gas in this image came as a complete surprise to astronomers. They are located thousands of light years away from Earth in the constellation Crux, the Southern Cross. Image & Caption Credit: ESA and the SPIRE & PACS consortium
The Gibbous Moon occurs on June 16 in mid sidereal Libra. Conjoining stars include the stars of the Southern Cross, including Acrux and Becrux, those of the Northern Crown including Alphecca and Nusakan, and Menkent and Omega Centauri and the Centaurus-A galaxy.
Centaurus-A, “Temple of the Centaur,” is a significant x-ray source that nests within an exotic galaxy (NGC5128) that does not fit into any galactic class, a place so unique that it seems oblivious to and undaunted by its surrounding cosmology. Cen-A is a very deep pool of consciousness, the essence of pure consciousness. It expresses a quality of beauty, harmony in unique perfection.
South of Centaurus-A are the stars of the Southern Cross. The Centaur is protector of the Southern Cross and benevolent teacher of its principles. The four stars of the Southern Cross (Crux) embody the original cardinality (pure intent) of the soul—embodied by the Kappa Crucis Cluster, the Jewel Box, before the aberrations, confusions, attitudes, and beliefs incurred by the soul throughout its entire incarnational sojourn.
Centaurus-A invites us to create a contemplative or meditative harmonious space or environment from which to access our inner cardinal soul wisdom, our original and unique purpose and intent, which underlie the aberrations, false beliefs, and restricting concepts we may have placed upon ourselves. Centaurus-A invites us to enter a place of inner stillness, to relinquish the concepts of thought we associate with our existing lives. This inner excursion requires a willingness to go deep within and to allow a disintegration of the constructs of self we hold, our human mold, of what we think ourselves to be, and to emerge with a far deeper awareness of our true selves, the inner knowing of our true essence. We can then bring that pure essence, that intent, back into our life expression without the need to mold ourselves into mass consensus.
The globular cluster Omega Centauri—containing about ten million stars— is seen in all its splendor in this image captured with the Wide Field Imager (WFI), mounted on the 2.2-metre diameter Max-Planck/ESO telescope, located at ESO's La Silla Observatory. Omega Centauri is about 150 light-years across and is the most massive of all the Milky Way's globular clusters—the largest and brightest globular cluster in the sky; and a favorite celestial object for stargazers from the southern hemisphere. Image & Caption Credit: ESO/EIS
The Omega Centauri Globular Cluster conjoins Cen-A at mid-sidereal Libra. Omega Centauri contains about ten million stars and is the most massive of all of our galaxy's globular clusters—the largest and brightest globular cluster in the sky; and a favorite object for stargazers in the southern hemisphere. Omega Centauri appears almost as big as a full moon. Omega Centauri inspires us to access and boldly radiate our soul wisdom in its entirety. This is the power of the soul found deep within self while meditating in the Temple of the Centaur.
Centaurus-A also conjoins Alphecca, Nusakan, Eta and Theta of Corona Borealis, the Northern Crown, and the Quasar 3C 351 of northern Draco. This quasar inspires access to ancient time, when soul was pristine in its intent and purpose, and to pull this awareness into the present expression with passion, enthusiasm, art, and beauty to attain our evolutionary freedom and fulfillment, exemplified by Ophiuchus holding the serpent pointing its head to the Northern Crown, which lies north and above the Claws of the Scorpion (Scales of Libra). The stars of Corona Borealis impel personal action to find away through the labyrinth of obstacles in life that impedes us to achieve our personal fulfillment and evolutionary freedom.
Our Gibbous Moon brings inspiration to establish equipoise and balance in our lives and in our relations, despite any diversionary commotion occurring around us and in the world. It impels us to become clear and focused upon that which is truly nourishing in our lives and to elevate ourselves to achieve greater freedom and fulfillment. It may bring attention to our environments and to that which sustains our lives that serve this purpose. It also stimulates a deeper inner exploration of our true purpose and intent—to embody that which is truly relevant during these changing times.
The Time of Global Change is at Hand.
What is the end of the World for some is a New World for those who realize it is.
The Full Moon marks the culmination point in the lunar cycle, the climax, the point of excitement and celebration. The hours leading up to the Full Moon provide a time of “vision and enthusiasm.” The time just after Full Moon is a one of “realization of the lunar month’s theme,” a time to kick back and relax, to allow our realizations to surface in consciousness.
Full Moon - Sidereal Fagan-Bradley
Subtract 0° 16' for the Galactic Ayanamsa
The Full Moon occurs on June 20, with the Sun conjoining the Gate of Man in early sidereal Gemini and the with the Moon conjoining Quaoar and the Gate of God of Earth's Precessional Cross in early sidereal Sagittarius. The Solstice occurs at 22:34 June 20 UT (3:34 PM MST), just several hours after the Full Moon.
The minor planet Quaoar (pronounced kwah-whar) was discovered in June of 2002. Quaoar was the name given to the “creation force” by the Native American Tongva tribe who were the original inhabitants of the Los Angeles basin in Southern California. Quaoar is about one-tenth the diameter of Earth, about half the size of Pluto, and larger than the four primary asteroids combined. Quaoar has an orbital period of 288 years. (Pluto orbits the sun in 248 years). Quaoar lies a bit further out than Pluto. Quaoar's orbit is remarkably circular compared to Pluto and the other new planets, which have highly elliptical orbits. Quaoar’s orbit is tilted only slightly to the ecliptic plane. This suggests that Quaoar has a gentle and well balanced astrological influence.
Quaoar’s near circular orbit and mild orbital inclination imparts a more gentle and harmonious energetic, perhaps one inspiring the need to bring harmony and balance into that which is chaotically scattered and in conflict. As a Kuiper Belt planet, like Pluto and others, Quaoar resonates more with the transcendent workings of our lives, demanding we surrender egoic consciousness and align ourselves to the natural forces governing life, rather than to man’s attempted dictatorial reign over them.
Quaoar seems to have a character supporting a “harmonious revolution”— to help us surrender to the natural order of life. In addition, Quaoar inspires our return to the “sacredness of life”; to realize all things in life are sacred; and that it is our responsibility to have respect for natural order and to live in harmony with nature; without this we do not have respect for our selves. More about Quaoar.
The Trifid Nebula, M20, at the Gate of God, is easy to find with a small telescope and a well-known stop in the nebula rich constellation Sagittarius. But where visible light pictures show the nebula divided into three parts by dark, obscuring dust lanes, this penetrating infrared image reveals filaments of luminous gas and newborn stars. This spectacular false-color view is courtesy of the Spitzer Space Telescope. Astronomers have used the Spitzer infrared image data to count newborn and embryonic stars that otherwise lie hidden in the natal dust and glowing clouds of this intriguing stellar nursery.

Sagittarius, stargate to Galactic Center, is commonly referred to as the Sagittarian Centaur, Zen Archer, or the First Horseman whose arrow points toward Galactic Center, the heart of our Galaxy, from which expresses the cosmic intelligent force that forms and suspends our entire Galaxy. Sagittarius is the Galactic City of Light responsible for the higher spiritual education about our galactic heritage and the evolution of souls.
Sagittarius is both a galactic constellation and an ecliptical constellation because it lies upon the galactic equator and the ecliptic. Sagittarius oversees the "Gate of God" (5° sidereal Sag)—the primary reference point for the cycle of Earth’s ~25,000-year Precessional Cross, created by the intersection of the plane of our galaxy and the plane of our solar system. Earth's Precessional Cycle and the cycle of the Precessional Cross occurring in the ecliptic ring, governs the evolutionary cycle of the soul collective incarnate on Earth.
Sagittarius is the spiritual warrior. The Sagittarian Centaur sees beyond the limitations of human suffering and fearful expression. He sees raw human experience serving souls' greater growth, and it is this that he is willing to live and die for. On a personal level, the stars of Sagittarius generally inspire demonstrable action to live a deeper inner truth, or a more universal truth, and to express that truth through an undaunted Zen focus to hit the target of our highest ideals and dreams, ultimately to achieve a greater unified awareness. The Zen Archer is focused upon long-term goals, that is, the goals of durative soul rather than short-term trivial or transitory pursuits. Sagittarius is a seeker, always on a quest for knowledge that transcends or that lays beyond the transient and superficial world of human affairs. The Sagittarian Archer is generally self-taught, of spiritual wisdom amalgamated over time through raw experience. Sagittarius is the sanguine inspirationalist, and is of lofty vision and higher ideals.
Our Solstice Full Moon brings our Taurus-Orion lunar cycle to its culmination. Its alignment with the Precessional Cross brings emphasis and attention to the greater evolutionary transition occurring on Earth and in our lives. It impels us to look beyond the transitory events occurring to see the underlying message and meaning they hold, to focus upon longer-term issues and changes that we need to make in our lives and in our world, and to pursue a greater unified conscious awareness.
A series of shifts occur between the Full Moon and Disseminating Moon. Pallas begins her retrograde on June 21 in Pegasus, north of Aquarius, over Enif of Pegasus. Pallas continues her retrograde through October 17, 2016 as she then swings southward through the stars of Aquarius toward her south node.
Juno completes her retrograde on June 22 in early sidereal Libra, fully engaging the new Earth-Juno synodic cycle that began on April 27, presented in the April 7, 2016 Lunar Planner.
Ceres makes her conjunction with Eris on June 21 (22 UT) and then with Uranus on June 23.
Mercury conjoins Vesta on June 22 at the location of our New Moon, conjoining enterprising Rigel of Orion.
The hours leading up to the Disseminating Moon generally is an accelerated and busy time of last minute preparation that leads into the birth point in the lunar cycle, the time of bearing the fruit of the cycle, of claiming its gift, of living that which we have been learning.
The Disseminating Moon occurs on June 24 (23 MST) in sidereal Capricorn. Conjoining stars include those of Delphinus, Sualocin and Rotanev; Zeta and Iota of Capricorn; Al Nair and Ras Alkuri of Gruis.
Delphinus expresses through the last decan of sidereal Capricorn, merging the primary essence of these heavenly angelic guides—the Dolphins—with the future-oriented visionary Aquarian influence that permeates later sidereal Capricorn. The oracular angelic guides of Delphi merge and meander with the future-oriented visionary Aquarian influence through the rock-hard conforming stoic past of Capricorn and spring from the ground as prophetic life carrying waters—a flow of guiding wisdom not otherwise available by mortal efforts alone, a flow that leads us from the crystallized into the unbounded future to become.
Sualocin and Rotanev of Delphinus offer guidance for those willing to trust in a greater guiding intelligence. The Dolphins, an expression of angelic dominion, are guides for the wayward, as old salts know. They reveal the way to make safe passage to our destination, to our greater nourishment and fulfillment, provided we listen to and participate in the serendipity of life.
To experience in the serendipity of life requires we surrender the pre-occupations of reasoning mind, those of worry and our need to define and control, of what we "think" we "should" be doing. It instead requires us to be attentive to and trust any subtle impulses we may feel at any given moment—to move with the Divine Intelligence that permeates and fluidly guides our lives. Here lies the art of getting out of our own way to allow creative solutions that lead us from the conforming bounds of limited mind.
The stars of Gruis are of resolute verdicts, decisive decisions and fortuitous tidings based upon bodies of knowledge, especially regarding legalities, business dealings, constitutional matters, and news associated with new life and new beginnings. This is an eloquently expressive and articulate area of the zodiak, with gregarious and loquacious qualities. It is of libraries, courts, congresses, publishing houses, literary agencies, or where ideas and information is formulated, agreed upon and concretized. Al Nair of Gruis imparts mental brilliance, and along with conjoining Al Dhanab, they impel articulate grammatical expression, especially in the areas of law and natural history.
Our Demonstrable Moon imparts a communicative, intelligent and articulate energetic, especially in areas where any ideas, agreements or legalities are formulated and concretized. It impels decisive decisions and resolutions, especially favorable in formal ventures and professional pursuits. It is of fortuitous news supporting new beginnings. Delphinus' influence invites us to trust in the flow of any serendipitous events occurring in our lives, to allow ourselves to be guided by higher forces into opportunities or directions that would not occur by our efforts alone.
Last Quarter Moon - Sidereal Fagan-Bradley
The Last Quarter Moon creates our “inner need to initiate change” in the lunar cycle as we move into the cycle’s last and transitional quarter. Our Last Quarter Moon occurs on June 27 in sidereal Pisces. The Moon conjoins Chiron the day before (our day of inner needs) just as Chiron makes its retrograde station on the cusp of sidereal Pisces.
Classically, Chiron is the Wounded Healer, which means our wounds are that which heal us. Chiron imparts a need for personal healing, to find wholeness within ourselves. Chiron acts as a bridge or escort between Saturn and Uranus. Chiron can indicate where a bridge is to be created and crossed, either from established, structured and crystallized patterns (Saturn) to radical new possibilities (Uranus), or to bring new discoveries and new levels of consciousness into concretized form. Prominent alignments with Chiron can indicate involvement in health-care or healing modalities, or with discoveries and new technologies applied in these areas.
Conjoining stars include Alpha, delta and Gamma Reticuli, in the very southern heavens, the stars of Lacerta in the northern heavens, along with Eta and Theta of Cepheus.
Pisces is the constellation of the two fishes—a dual sign. The western fish swims westward, horizontally along the ecliptic plane, with its head marking the cusp of sidereal Pisces, marked by the “Circlet” of stars. The western fish articulates our primordial (and sleeping) nature, and our unconscious participation in the cycle of mortal life. It is of our inherited ideologies and genealogies that we are born into. The eastern fish leaps upward, vertically from the ecliptic plane, seeking a greater freedom at the shores of sidereal Aries. The eastern fish articulates our desire to ascend from our inherited past and its ideologies, and our effort to awaken from submersion in the tumultuous psychic emotional human world articulated by southern Cetus.
Lying over the first half of sidereal Pisces is the Great Square of Pegasus. The Great Square holds the mystery (knowledge) of the metamorphosis of the physical body into light. Theses four stars impel us to rise from our primordial past into our destined evolutionary fulfillment, to become more through our human experience.
Lacerta lies in the northern heavens and embodies knowledge about the application of primal, psychic and telepathic forces. Alpha Reticuli conjoins from the very southern heavens. Alpha Reticuli is the foci of the reticule, the sacred geometry of the DNA refined to crystal clarity, the underlying rhomboid or diamond. These energetic stimulate the reptilian brain, governing our instinctual behavior, and the core resonance of the human DNA, which also indicates how the human DNA is receptive to electromagnetic forces, and also susceptible to technological and psychic manipulation. They impel learning how to master our instinctual abilities.
Our Last Quarter Moon brings emphasis to emotional psychic forces, to emotional clarity, and how to participate in the world without being reactively dragged around by or drowning in any emotional drama. It can reveal an emotional barrier to cross or an emotional tension or psychic congestion to relinquish. It makes us aware that emotional clarity is of issue, and of the power of unresolved emotional tension keeps us from the very changes we wish to make.
Mars makes its direct station, completing its retrograde on June 29. This fully engages a sense of movement into the new Mars synodic cycle that began on the previous Full Moon, presented in the May 6, 2016 Lunar Planner. The completion of both Juno and Mars retrogrades will be felt as a welcomed sense of movement and progression, in creative action and in our relationships and partnerships of all types, those personal and those of business and politics.
Soaring high above Valles Marineris, the "Grand Canyon of Mars," viewers look down and catch a sight resembling parts of the desert West of the United States, but on a vastly greater scale. Here the canyon averages over a hundred miles wide, and its floor is heaped with rocks, sediments, and landslide debris. Within the canyon walls lie possibly hundreds of layers filling many pages of Mars' geologic record. Image & Caption Credit: NASA/JPL/University of Arizona.
For those who have the Planetary Bio-harmonic Audio Meditations, the 24 hours before the Mars station through the Balsamic Moon is an ideal time to work with the Mars audio meditation. The Balsamic Moon marks the time in the lunar cycle when we coalesce the experience of the lunar cycle into its seed essence, which will then sprout through the theme of the following lunar cycle. It is when we turn our attention from this lunar cycle in anticipation of the next to come. The hours before the Balsamic Moon provide our time of coalescence while those after mark the time when we turn 180° from looking back over the past cycle and look forward toward the next cycle to come.

The Balsamic Moon occurs on June 30 (July 1 UT) conjoining Sedna and is directly opposite Mars and is separating in a semi-sextile from Uranus-Eris. The Moon conjoins Theta, Algol and Gorgoneas of Perseus, Segin of Cassiopeia and Zaurak of Eridanus.
Algol, Beta Persei, marks the cusp of sidereal Taurus, surrounded by the Gorgoneas. Algol is the head of slain Medusa, which Perseus carries at his side. Of the Gorgons, Medusa, who is crowned with seven snakes for hair, represents the chaotic and self-defeating forces within self, driven by fear. It is fear that freezes us in our tracks, the force that turns us to stone. Perseus cannot look at Medusa directly lest he will turn to stone. He instead uses his shield to see her reflection. This mythically articulates our need to look at the monsters apparently outside of self as a reflection of our own inner fear. It is the inner fear we need to slay. Algol alignments can bring us a physical challenge or indicate an initiatory trial is at hand.
In the southern heavens is Zaurak of Eridanus, a point of pause along the initiatory river of life where we must hold and trust our own inner light because the path immediately ahead is not entirely visible. Here we are motivated to trust the inner light we have cultivated through our past initiatory trials (through Aries) and step forth into the Earthy world of Taurus (in demonstrable physical action). Zaurak conjoins northern Segin, the last of the principal stars of Cassiopeia, which adds an opinionated, penetrating and expressive nature to late Aries / cuspal Taurus. Segin also imparts an embracing watchful perception, especially in dangerous or threatening situations.
Our Balsamic Moon brings emphasis to trust our inner knowing, our inner heart's light to build our lives and all that supports us in the physical world. It invites us to realize the monsters we feel we must slay that are apparently outside of self are but reflections of our own inner fear, and it is the fear we must slay. It invites us to support the reemergence of the feminine principle into our lives, to trust it once again—essential for our world to become whole.
Our next New Moon occurs on July 4 amongst the stars of the Gemini Twins, also conjoining Sirius of Canis Major and Canopus of Argo Navis. More to come then.

To learn how one lunar phase shifts and changes into the next, and to learn how to live in attunement to the lunar cycles, in the experiential empowerment doing so offers, download the Lunar Planner Introduction and each monthly Lunar Calendar, and use them daily (PDF file links below)—its all a gift.
We need not live in endless struggle, overwhelmed by the surface turbulence of our growth and awakening process. We can establish an inner peace instead, with life becoming a graceful dance when we attune ourselves to the natural spiral of growth that is guiding our lives. Living in attunement to the natural Lunar Cycles is an effective and empowering way to do this. Living in attunement to the natural astronomical cycles of life is living in faith and trust in the Divine Creative Intelligence expressing throughout our lives.
The Lunar Planner is an experiential tool teaching us how to live in attunement to the natural lunar cycles. Astronomical Sidereal Astrology and Star Lore reveal each lunar month's theme, and the planetary themes unfolding throughout the year. Each lunar month's theme weaves a continuing story line of the patterns of growth unfolding in our lives.
The Lunar Calendar reveals the dates and times of each lunar phase shift and their changing characteristics. Use this like a calendar or daily planner. The Lunar Calendar goes hand-in-hand with the introductory material. Use this daily to learn how to live attuned to the Lunar Cycles of Life.
Step by step instructions on how to use the Lunar Calendar with a detailed description of the changing lunar phases. This will teach you how to live in attunement to the Lunar Cycle. The Introduction goes hand-in-hand with the Lunar Calendar.
