Today, 27th March 2010 at 12 noon IST , Ahmedabad (22n02,72e37), a Special Investigation Team, (SIT) appointed by the Supreme Court of India, began questioning Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat on his role in the Gujarat riots of 2002. A chart drawn for the moment shows the star Tejat rising , Pluto on the descendant and Sun and Saturn square it. (chart attached)

The first quarter moon of the current lunar cycle was conjunct Tejat completing a Grand cross with Saturn-Pluto and the Sun.

Since we are currently going through the last quarter square of the Saturn-Pluto synod of 1982, it may be appropriate to recall what Nick has mentioned as the theme of the current cycle.

In a way it is bringing to light a shameful incident in Indian history that occurred in Gujarat, India at the last Saturn-Pluto opposition in 2001-02

The history of the Gujarat riots is given in the above reference. While the neutrality of the article is disputed, it gives a general idea of what happened. Just after 27th February 2002 violence broke out across the state claiming around 1000 lives. Independent estimates by human rights groups and NGOs place the figure higher to around 2000.

The man widely held responsible for the riots Narendra Modi, Chief Minister of Gujarat (born 17 Sep 1950) was elected to lead the right wing BJP government on 7 Oct 2001 under a Saturn-Pluto opposition.

Modi’s Sun is conjunct the stars Cor Caroli and Benatnasch (Alkaid) at 24 virgo (tropical) ...incidentally also the position of the IC of the chart shown with transit Uranus at MC. The current New Moon of 15th March 2010 is conjunct Uranus, and opposite Narendra Modi’s natal Sun. The first quarter moon is conjunct Tejat.

The chart shown in the above mentioned post carries the asteroids you mention on the Ascendant-Descendant axis and beautifully illustrates what is happening right now in Gujarat as Modi tries to hide his role in the riots of 2002.

Tejat, the star on the ascendant, is forcing hidden matters out into the open. I see this as a good example of how the “micro” world of the asteroids fills in the “macro” picture of the stars.
