Personalizing Lunar Cycles to your Natal Chart
Personalizing Lunar Cycles to your Natal Chart
Although the theme of each Lunar Cycle can be explored via star alignments of the New Moon, etc., you can also explore how each Lunar Cycle unfolds in your own natal chart. A few things to consider:
Look at where in your natal chart each New Moon occurs: The house in which it occurs will reveal where in your life the lunar cycle is working. Note if it conjoins or aspects any other planets or personal points in your chart. If it occurs on any of the angles (ASC-DSC / MC-IC), or aspects them, the cycle can be of extra significnace for you. If it conjoins or aspects any of your planets, then those planets and associated areas of your life (houses) are involved in the lunar cycle.
You can do the same with each Moon Phase: Note where they occur in your chart, how the cycle is unfolding though your chart.
Another thing you can explore is where in your "relocated chart" a New Moon occurs. For example, perhaps a New Moon occurs on your DSC in your natal chart. The Lunar cycle would express in your relationships with others, how you interrelate, etc (DSC themes). Then look at you relocated chart (if you have moved from your birth location). Perhaps the New Moon is now on your IC. This would indicate the Lunar Cycle is working in the area of your foundation in life, also your home or residence. Thus you have two dynamics active, one coloring the other. A relocated chart (and its transits) always overlays your natal chart (and its transits). You can think of your natal chart as more durative, a life long energetic, and your relocated chart coloring it, more revealing the punctual, the here and now of your life.
Perhaps you noted that a New Moon or Full Moon was going to occur on your natal Pluto which was on your IC in you relocated chart (most people would not move to a Pluto-IC location to start with, but just to illustrate), you might choose to take a little trip for that New Moon, so you move the New Moon-Pluto transit off your IC so it would not be so intensely dismantling. You could also do the opposite, to enhance a specific cycle. Maybe a New Moon was transiting Jupiter, and you travel to a location where it becomes angular (on one of your angles), to increase the beneficial nature of the lunar cycle.
Lunar Cycles, and for that matter, any aspects occurring in your chart are always working both in time and space (location). Your location at the time of any transit (planetary, solar returns, new & full moons, eclipses, etc.) defines the area of your life in which that transit (and its cycle) is working--the basics of re-locational astrology. Natal planets and transits on your local angles are always the most energetically significant.
