Post Astrology of Gandhi
Today is Gandhi’s birth anniversary.Gandhi was born on October 2, 1869 in Porbandar, India. He helped free the Indian people from British rule through nonviolent resistance, and is remembered by them as Mahatma, meaning Great Soul

Among the tributes to Gandhi upon his death were these words by the great physicist, Albert Einstein:

“Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this walked the earth in flesh and blood.”Gandhi’s Sun at 8 Libra was almost exactly square ORCUS at 8 Capricorn

The extract below from your article Nick on Orcus describes the man perfectly. I guess it is only through such examples of great men that the attributes of newly discovered planetary bodies become meaningful for us.

The location of Orcus's Perihelion reveals the area in our lives that Orcus is most influential. ….Orcus' perihelion lies north of the ecliptic in the constellation Pegasus; entering the ecliptic at 15° 04' sidereal Aquarius,

Of primary influence is the constellation of Pegasus, in which the perihelion lies. Pegasus, in general, is of strength and support, that which lifts humanity above the entrapping forces and scenarios common to a less than socially mature world

Humanitarianism, altruism, and an evolved humanitarian-based society beyond conflicts based upon cultural, gender or religious differences are the hallmark of this zodiakal band. The word 'social' is derived from the Old French or the Latin 'socialis', meaning 'allied', or from 'socius' meaning 'friend'-- good words to describe the essence of sidereal Aquarius. Here all are recognized as allied friends, as one human family.

Orcus' perihelion and aphelion reveals that Orcus addresses how we are applying our personal will for the greater well being of all humanity; how we are contributing to human society. Orcus' nodal axis motivates the use of our day-to-day lives, our daily activity for soul's greater purpose on Earth.

Gandhi was born with Archturus and Spica rising of which Nick says:

“Archturus, the primary star of Boötes, the fourth brightest star in the sky, marks the base chakra of Boötes and embodies the seed essence of Boötes. Archturus lies directly over, and conjoins Spica, the base chakra / Vesica Pisces of the Virgin, the vessel for the expression of this pure consciousness. The Archturus-Spica conjunction reveals the genitals of Boötes and the Vesica Pisces of the Virgin are synthesized and destined as one--in a sanctified and perfect Divine Union. Boötes does not represent God, nor is it just anyone that can fulfill this union. This conjunction reveals it is only those who are destined; designed as such--properly aligned in the heavens--in spirit, and in flesh.

Archturus and Spica, the Vesica Pisces of the Virgin, also articulates the intertwining intermarriage of the higher self (soul) with the lower self (carnal body)--as soul descends to incarnate fully through the chakras of the biological vessel.
(It is interesting that in his book “Experiments with Truth” Gandhi discusses his difficulty in coming to terms with the lower self (carnal body).)
Archturus is the administrative seat responsible for the safe ascension of Earth and Humanity--the pure birth of the soul. Boötes / Archturus stands against the fallen corrupt powers of Benatnasch who have demonstrated the inability over and again to ensure such evolutionary fulfillment, with the continual destruction of the peoples of the Earth, and typical catastrophic outcomes. The body of Boötes stands between this pure lucida of the Virgin, while blocking the manipulations of corrupt Benatnasch and their diversionary tactics, embodied by the barking dogs (Canes Venatici). Boötes is protector regarding the proper use of creative and reproductive powers--ensuring the safe birth, evolution, and ascension of souls.”

Gandhi's role as a leader and protector of his people against the "fallen corrupt powers" could be linked to his leadership of India during its struggle for Independence from British colonial rule.

More simply Bernadette Brady describes Archturus thus:

“Arcturus embodies the symbolism of guarding, learning, teaching, leading – leading and protecting people as they embrace a new life style. One who can lead the way, one who has the vision or spirit to take the first step.”

In addition Gandhi's Sun at 8Libra was exactly quincunx his natal Haumea at 8 Taurus. Martin Luther King who was inspired by Gandhi's non violent struggle also had a Sun-Haumea contact.
